@thorn_jan189 only in one of my playthroughs, it actually came for me in the kelp forest lol. I was actually confused because most of the time (for me), it would hang in the sand dunes behind the aurora, but never so close to the edge like that.
@@stalkerwastaken yes but I think almost any animal could hear the seamoths ping here, its neither very high or low frequent, kind of in the middle. And most animals have higher frequency hearing than humans
I wish there were more deadly enemies in subnautica that had a better ai. Nothing against the crash fish and bone shark but there was a gap between them and the one hit KO reaper. Like a version of a great white shark but smarter and more features. And other stuff like snakes or even swimming mammals
Below zero had squid sharks. Below zero had some really good creatures, but it lacked the complete submersive depth and spacing as the first one. I was very disappointed to know that the deepest depth in Below zero was only like 1500, if I can remember correctly. Some areas of the map were more bland that the grand plataue of the first game. And the void marker was just too close to our overall play area, so much so, that fighting a chalicerate was bound to take you over the edge (no pun intended). The story was phenomenal, the mapping? Not quite. The creatures? Scary and pretty, but they should've been mixed in with those of the first one, imo.
@ I was also very disappointed by below zero. First of all, a lot of it was above ground. Secondly, the sea truck was sooo slow. And the map still felt rushed and repetitive. I get the original leaves a lot to live up to, but even still it wasn’t great.
@dontworryaboutit4733 i was alright until I reached the lost river, and it was only because I didn't know my way around it, and I was using the prawn suit lol
It's likely they can since they use ecolocation themselves. Lorewise would be appropriate to introduce a mechanic that either angers them and/or confuses them when getting pinged. It's no secret that sonar pings and other noises or vibrations fuck with other lifeforms' ecolocation. Fuck, the literal reason why boomfishing is illegal is the fact that it's harmful to the ecosystem. Due to it killing indiscriminately and uncontrollably. It would make sense that a loud noise and a vibration so violent could override their own.
@@RogerStanford23 there's 9 actually... But there are more reaper zones. Crash zone has 9, dunes has 8, mountain has seven and there's 1 on the edge of the bulb zone but I wouldn't call that a reaper area as there's only 1 there.
This exact reaper guards the forest almost more then the end of the aurora

It seems to differ from playthrough to playthrough. Every copy of subnautica is personalized :0
If you can hear him, he can see you.
@@marvink.5270 it's a shame below zero didn't have fauna like that.
@@Valkyrie6558 yep, we will see what Subnautica 2 will bring us
Of course the reaper, a creature that uses echolocation, can hear your sonar ping
Make sense they’d be able to hear it, since they use sonar of their own
unless you used a sonar frequency outside their hearing range
@@stalkerwastakenmost sonar is a loud ass ping under the sea

ghost levi are annoying the 2nd time u encounter them they are so stupid its not even funny
Sea Dragons are the closest of a second deadly threat, but by the point you meet it you're already on late game.
This game is genuinely terrifying😂
Only when you can't see the big thing around you, lol

@Valkyrie6558 lol! Do you play woth good headphones? It makes the game ten times scarier, lol
@dontworryaboutit4733 I have to, otherwise I know I'll get crept up on lol
I never used the sonar.
@jase171973 I use it when I'm in a cave system or if water is too murky. It really helps to get around with it.
My favourite Seamoth upgrade. It's beautiful and quite useful. Shame there isn't one for the Prawn
The prawn suit definitely needed one 😭
if u use it on the cyclops it drains HELLA battery. Don't keep it on, jus use it in in single button presses when u cant see
I never used the cyclops to traverse on the game. It's too big to manuaver smoothly 😭
i hope that in subnautica 2 they add a leviathan predator that can feel when you use a sonar and go after you
I thought Reapers (in-game) didn't hear the sonar, this is probably a coincidence

If ur sea moth gets destroyed do you still need to get the materials and you loose upgrade and customization?
@@Kison-lp5wg yes. That's why it's always best to have a repair tool with you fully charged at all times.

Which of the reaper areas? The crash site like in the video?
