thanks man, hopefully it works, will post an update in a couple days when I see how my system is holding up. To be honest I first was thinking about a power supply failure, but given the fact it was running the newest games and 4K videos on full settings without any problem along with 4 HDD/SSDs installed I just couldnt envision it anymore. On the other hand I have just installed Windows 10 for the first time ("upgrading" from Win7) and I am apalled how invasive it is and how it can decide a lot of things for itself (update times, reboot times, etc) It requires more digging into and more fiddling with settings than any other previous versions. I had a WIN 7 system with complete user control over everything. This WIN 10 Tyranny is just something else... RANT OFF UPDATE: It is working like a charm, no unexpected reboot since. Thanks again OP
I just found your video and I tried what you said to do. I am testing now, I also get a critical error 79. I think these are related. My system just hangs with no error screen and no reboot. I have to manually hold the power button until the PC shuts off. Then hit power and it's OK, sometimes for hours, sometimes as soon as I load a game. After SJ Tutorials fix, I also went in and disabled all of my audio devices except my mic and headset, just to make sure it's not an Nvidia driver issue. I will report back the next time it happens or if it fixed it, I will report that and thumbs up this video and subscribe, thanks for the light at the end of the tunnel on this hard to pinpoint issue.
Well shoot, as soon as I started a game, It happened again... I have ordered a new higher output PSU to eliminate any low power issues and I am going try the previous Nvidia driver to see if it makes any difference.

Same problem here. Fixed it by disabling PCIE 4.0 and enabling PCIE 3.0 in the BIOS/UEFI settings. This is just a fix, no solution. The manufacturer promised PCIE 4.0 support, but it doesn’t work. They need to fix this and make it work with the newest generation. Hope this helps.
Quick question is your bios updated to the latest version? if not then you can update it through the device manager in windows or use the old way and get a USB to update. disabling PCIE 4 is not good you're losing a lot of bandwidth using gen 3. Make sure your bios and all the drivers in your pc is up-to-date. any question feel free to comment.

Like it was trying to get off the ground but couldn't. Eventually I tried to keep turning it off and it would run but then turn off after some time. Got a new a better PSU, still happened after installing. The ram seems fine, and my settings were changed to "never" like in the video beforehand. No idea what it could be anymore, although as of now I left it idle as I went to sleep and woke up to it off, booted it back up and checked the logs, it was on for five hours at least.
Thanks for posting this. I had the problem where my computer was rebooting with this issue at least once a day. I replaced my computer's psu, but that didn't fix it. your not disabling the sleep function what youre doing is stoping your pc from sleeping when idle so your system does shutdown. This is a updated description i found out today from another user. If none of these things work or if you are just stumped and can't find a solution, YOU MAY HAVE TO BUY A LARGER WATT POWER SUPPLY. in these cases your current power supply cannot keep up with the demand of power from the components in your system so you can either remove devices from your system and see if that works or buy a larger watt power supply.

same here
more than a week with no problem (used to have 1 or 2 every day). Many thanks!!!
Still no problem!!!
glad everything worked out
thanks man, hopefully it works, will post an update in a couple days when I see how my system is holding up. RANT OFF
UPDATE: It is working like a charm, no unexpected reboot since. Thanks again OP
Thank you! glad everything worked out
Thanks!!!
You have helped a desperate computer scientist🙋🙋
happy to help! :)
Hopefully has fixed the problem, and I learnt something too! Thanks.

if it doesnt try reinstalling windows or updating your bios.
Same issue here as well. Narrowed it down to waking from sleep/hibernation. Here's hoping. Thanks for the tip.
no problem

I've been having this issue after a week and a half of building this PC, one day i tried turning it on and it would immediately turn off, I'm talking less than second.
So I'm confused lol when did you try the video
Thanks for posting this.
I had the problem where my computer was rebooting with this issue at least once a day. I replaced my computer's psu, but that didn't fix it. So, after searching for answers online, I turned off the fast boot and that seemed to work. This was about seven days ago, in that time no incident. However, just a few moments ago I returned from getting the mail outside to see that my computer rebooted while I was gone - again kernal-power 41.
Granted, we did get a nasty snowstorm this weekend, so maybe something funky happened with the power?
In any event, I went into my pc settings and disabled sleep mode. Hibernate was already off.
Hope this fixes it, will update in about a week.

and maybe you should troubleshoot
- Turn off MSI Afterburner. (system could be spiking)
- Follow the video and info in the description.
- Max perf shouldn't effect your system restarting
- Turn off Automatic Restart in Windows (Follow this Link: www.thewindowsclub.com/windows-computer-restarts-without-warning)
its very possible that your system could be failing and windows is restarting to try to fix the problem but in turn its not giving you a blue screen error
and thats a problem. so turn off auto restart (follow the link i provided to do that properly) and use your PC normally and if you get an error message
tell me (or google it) so i can help (turn off auto restart when you're done with everything else and sure that its the one effecting your system) hope
