    Thanx so much. I was getting Kernel power errors on shut down. Originally the problem was my Samsung SSDs that apparently had a problem with hibernate. I was having problem shut downs and corruptions that scannow was finding. After eliminating hibernate mode I still had problem with ShadowProtect Disk image backups that were finding problems but only when I took backups after a complete shut down, not after restart. I searched Kernel power errors and found your video. Apparently fast start uses some files related to hibernate. Your fix has solved my problem. Thanx much.

    I am gonna give this a try, I had this error while playing a game. Great video right to the point and clear instructions.

  • @willklep1
    @willklep1 4 года назад +1

    So, sometimes the PC likes to restart randomly. It provides an Kernel-power 41 error code. it just restarts. Sometimes it'll restart when I'm playing a game 15 minutes after I'm in, others while I'm loading into a game, surfing the web, installing something, or shortly after it's last random restart. I've let it run idle overnight twice and it doesn't restart, and like yesterday I was able to play for an hour or so, and exit the game on my control and not due to a random restart. This is a new build, I put it together Monday.
    Here's what I've monitored and done to try to solve the problem: -Reseat PSU cables & use different PSU cables -Reseat RAM and swap out RAM, one by one. -Monitored CPU temps, highest I've seen it get is 64°C. -Monitored SSD temps, highest I've seen is 43°C. -Reinstalled a clean Windows 10 (I was previously using the copy I had on my old Samsung SSD) -Wiped Samsung SSD using a secure erase -Ran Windows memory diagnostic test, no errors were found -Ran MemTest86, an extensive test, took 3 hours to complete, no errors found
    -Reverted from Windows 10 version 2004 to 1909.
    Specs: CPU - AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
    GPU - NVIDIA RTX 2070 Super
    RAM - Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer 3000MHz RGB (8GBx2)
    MB - MSI MPG X570 Edge WiFi
    CPU Cooler - Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML360R
    Storage - Crucial P1 1TB m.2, Samsung 860 QV0 1TB SSD, Seagate BarraCuda 4TB HDD
    Tower - Cooler Master NR600 MasterBox
    PSU - Corsair CX750M
    Case Fans - 3x120mm upHere RGB
    Only things plugged into my PSU is a SATA connector and an 8 pin to 2 8 pin connector for my GPU.
    Haven't done the paper clip test on the PSU (kinda scared to) and I don't have a multimeter to test the pins on the 24 pin connector.
    I know nothing, but if I were to guess, it sounds like PSU.
    I really appreciate your help if you see this :)

    • @SaajaadeenJeffries
      @SaajaadeenJeffries  4 года назад

      you probably already did but if you followed everything in the video to the T then yes the very last thing to change is the psu.
      Update: I think i found you problem i just put your build together in pcpartpicker and you have a MAJOR DISCREPANCY.
      Note: The MSI MPG X570 GAMING EDGE WIFI ATX AM4 Motherboard has an additional 4-pin ATX power connector but the Corsair CXM V2 (2017) 750 W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply does not. This connector is used to supply additional 12V current to the motherboard. While the system will likely still run without it, higher current demands such as extreme overclocking or large video card current draws may require it.
      in other words you need to change your psu ... my recommendation.
      PSU: Corsair RM (2019) 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply
      this is around the same price and an updated version. the possibility of this problem reoccurring in the future is slim but just in case always build you computer @pcpartpicker.com before purchasing ANY PARTS to ensure compatibility.
      If you have any more questions please feel free to comment.
      P.s Make sure to plug in 12v 4pin/8pin (which ever one) into the proper socket to the motherboard once you receive the new psu.

    • @willklep1
      @willklep1 4 года назад +1

      @@SaajaadeenJeffries isn't the additional 4 pin connector used for extreme overclocking? Is my GPU really drawing that much? I really appreciate all your help and research :)

    • @SaajaadeenJeffries
      @SaajaadeenJeffries  4 года назад

      @@willklep1 It must be drawing that much when you play games or watch videos just in case always have that 4pin plugged in if not then you'll likely run into power problems. plug in the 4pin and do the things that you normally do also let your pc idle to see if it does a random restart.
      if your pc stays on then your 4pin 12v was the problem if not then proceed to further troubleshooting. i know purchasing a new psu is alot but this may fix your problem.

    thanks man, hopefully it works, will post an update in a couple days when I see how my system is holding up. To be honest I first was thinking about a power supply failure, but given the fact it was running the newest games and 4K videos on full settings without any problem along with 4 HDD/SSDs installed I just couldnt envision it anymore. On the other hand I have just installed Windows 10 for the first time ("upgrading" from Win7) and I am apalled how invasive it is and how it can decide a lot of things for itself (update times, reboot times, etc) It requires more digging into and more fiddling with settings than any other previous versions. I had a WIN 7 system with complete user control over everything. This WIN 10 Tyranny is just something else... RANT OFF
    UPDATE: It is working like a charm, no unexpected reboot since. Thanks again OP

    I just found your video and I tried what you said to do. I am testing now, I also get a critical error 79. I think these are related. My system just hangs with no error screen and no reboot. I have to manually hold the power button until the PC shuts off. Then hit power and it's OK, sometimes for hours, sometimes as soon as I load a game. After SJ Tutorials fix, I also went in and disabled all of my audio devices except my mic and headset, just to make sure it's not an Nvidia driver issue. I will report back the next time it happens or if it fixed it, I will report that and thumbs up this video and subscribe, thanks for the light at the end of the tunnel on this hard to pinpoint issue.

Make sure your bios and all the drivers in your pc is up-to-date.

    I've been having this issue after a week and a half of building this PC, one day i tried turning it on and it would immediately turn off, I'm talking less than second. Like it was trying to get off the ground but couldn't. Eventually I tried to keep turning it off and it would run but then turn off after some time. Got a new a better PSU, still happened after installing. The ram seems fine, and my settings were changed to "never" like in the video beforehand. No idea what it could be anymore, although as of now I left it idle as I went to sleep and woke up to it off, booted it back up and checked the logs, it was on for five hours at least.

    I had the problem where my computer was rebooting with this issue at least once a day. I replaced my computer's psu, but that didn't fix it. So, after searching for answers online, I turned off the fast boot and that seemed to work. This was about seven days ago, in that time no incident. However, just a few moments ago I returned from getting the mail outside to see that my computer rebooted while I was gone - again kernal-power 41.
    Granted, we did get a nasty snowstorm this weekend, so maybe something funky happened with the power?
    In any event, I went into my pc settings and disabled sleep mode. Hibernate was already off.

      Ive got nvidia gt1030 and AMD a10 9700, 8gb, and i changed my power supply, as it previsouly had a weaker one for a radeon r5. This new supply its one of the cheapest and has 500wats, though the previous one had 180 :(.
      I dont know what happens, i dont think its temperature as i have msi afterburner which tells me about it and i dont think is high enough. Neither i think its power, cause it keeps restarting, and i know when light goes out that it doesnt restarts.
      I have it on max performance with no other programs running, and it only happens on bo3. In power options i set processor charge to 95%. Idk what to do to help it.

      @@alvaro.sacris1930 Whats your steam ill add you lol
      and maybe you should troubleshoot
      - Turn off MSI Afterburner. (system could be spiking)
      - Follow the video and info in the description.
      - Max perf shouldn't effect your system restarting
      - Turn off Automatic Restart in Windows (Follow this Link: www.thewindowsclub.com/windows-computer-restarts-without-warning)
      its very possible that your system could be failing and windows is restarting to try to fix the problem but in turn its not giving you a blue screen error
      and thats a problem. so turn off auto restart (follow the link i provided to do that properly) and use your PC normally and if you get an error message
      tell me (or google it) so i can help (turn off auto restart when you're done with everything else and sure that its the one effecting your system) hope
      this helps message me when youre done.

    Does anything work with Microsoft anymore or did they abandon it. Win10 has been out for years and is far more buggy than WinXP is today. I have that still running fine, but unfortunately the 12 year old hardware doesn't run modern stuff. This New Dell Windows10 has been one headache after another for about 2 months. If none of these things work or if you are just stumped and can't find a solution, YOU MAY HAVE TO BUY A LARGER WATT POWER SUPPLY. in these cases your current power supply cannot keep up with the demand of power from the components in your system so you can either remove devices from your system and see if that works or buy a larger watt power supply.

      wait and leave your pc Idle (make sure you followed all the steps in the description and in the video before proceeding here, i know its alot but if you haven't please do it) if it crashes again use the program DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) and remove the graphics drivers that way. and reinstall the drivers from the website.

      Dude, I just read the comments and it seems that pressing the power button to "shut down" (but in fact just setting to "hybernate") is the issue.
      You should submit a bugreport to MS.

    Ive been having this error for the past three weeks. Replaced my motherboard, power supply, and ram. All before i checked event viewer to be honest. Yet the problem persists. I am hoping this addresses it. I honestly wish I knew what triggered this issue in the first place. But theres nothing conclusive anywhere on any forum. *sigh* so frustrating

      @@SaajaadeenJeffries That I have, and it seems to have fixed a part of the problem. It doesnt seem to just be randomly crashing in games anymore. Which is the most important thing to me. @@DasFlank gonna be honest with you unless you installed a program that manages your fan (if you do uninstall it and restart your system) that probably won't be the problem since cooling your system is managed by the system but if you must insist go to your device manager and try to find the chip or drivers that controls the fan remove the drivers and reinstall them restart your computer and try again.
