    They're both smargadine perfection.
But if I were lucky enough to have you cut one for me....... I'd have to go with the classic step-cut with cut corners. Hands down.
Now if it were Demantoid Garnet or Tsavorite Garnet........ Brilliant cut patterns for the bottom reign supreme. IMHO
Happy Holidays from us here in Colorado to you and Bopie🌲☃

Thank you. Bopie, and the client also went with the classic step cut. Hope you also have a Merry Christmas and Happy New year over there in Colorado!

Off the topic of cutting this stone. I am interested in purchasing some peridot rough, so I can cut them for my daughter. It is her birthstone. I am having trouble finding places on the internet that I could trust to purchase some rough for faceting as a hobby. Peridot is at the top of list but interested in other rough as well. Unable to go to gem shows since montana really doesn't have much other than sapphire mines which I have plenty of rough sapphire. Thank you for your assistsnce.

Interesting: despite a significant difference in weight estimate numbers ( Vol/W^3 -- .463 vs .395), the end products are nearly the same.
