- KUNAFA is a traditional Arabic dessert made with thin shredded or noodle-like pastry soaked in sweet, sugar-based syrup, and typically layered with cheese, or with other ingredients such as clotted cream or nuts.
INGREDIENTS & PROCESS:
1 CUP WATER
1/2 CUP SUGAR
COOK UNTIL SUGAR DISSOLVED
1/4 TEASPOON LEMON JUICE
1/2 TEASPOON SAFFRON ESSENCE
COOK UNTIL THE SYRUP THICKENS
150gm VERMICELLI
BREAK THE VERMICELLI
2 TABLESPOON BUTTER
MIX WELL
RESERVE HALF FOR LATER USE
1/2 TEASPOON YELLOW FOOD COLOR (POWDER)
2 TABLESPOON FOOD COLOR MIXED VERMICELLI
SPREAD EVENLY
1 TABLESPOON RICOTTA CHEESE
2 TABLESPOON MOZZARELLA CHEESE
2 TABLESPOON RESERVE VERMICELLI
COOK IT IN MEDIUM LOW HEAT FOR 20-25MIN.
CLEAR THE EDGES
FLIP THE MOULDS
WARM SUGAR SYRUP
CHOPPED PISTACHIO ON THE TOP

Also while mixing it with butter (I prefer ghee though) put a tablespoon of sugar and mix well (it makes it crispy and delicious)

I dont have much hope that this will be answered but I'm making these for a bake sale and I have to bake them so i ended up baking them at 450 for 15 minutes which was when they started to go golden at the edges. They turned out VERY CRISP. like as crisp as raw angelhair pasta but way finer. Is this correct? I dont want to sell shitty kunafa
