I leave mine set on chromatic scale and then run all tracks through Shakmat Bard Quartet. Great combo and makes up for the lack of in-scale transposing in the GR. Was a joy to see you jamming on this and it gave me a few ideas. Happy new year!
I've been contemplating that same config. I'm curious - what happens when you change scale / root settings on the GR - in my head it seams like you'd get some subtle shifts in melody, still conforming to the scale in the BQ?
@@boydw1 What it does is potentially drop notes when you change from chromatic scale on the GR. Since chromatic is all the notes in an octave, changing to a different scale on GR will result in the BQ having less to chew on and thereby achieving what you referenced as subtle shift (depending on what your BQ setting are... it could possibly have no effect at all).
i got it for bassline sequencing, after trying the opp ned for this purpose. both are gems. although for my personal way of going about things i opt for the opp ned in a toss up, cause i find it a bit frustrating to have no save state option. especially if it's getting into the morning, i'm still up jamming, come across a sweet spot and need to sleep, but want to track it tomorrow. easy to scan past something cool. but for how i'm working i mostly just want a tritone, and octave and the root and a some physical control over variations, so opp ned is just magnificent for me. but this one is fun if i had extra space. like extreme fun. i say get one and try the other if it don't work out.
i recommend the 16n faderbank. thats is such a fantastic device...noit only for cv rather midi and i2c as well i love mine. it also works with norns very well. great video and performance as always.
Nice demo, Jeremy. A melodic generator is something we can all find some use for. The F8R is so cool but makes me sad Malekko doesn’t make Voltage Block any more, its ability to turn stuff up and down whilst holding 16 presets and various sequencing tricks would make it super useful for this patch.
Really enjoy your vids man. Just a heads up.. get another f8r. the 16 channel is more roomy but honestly not enough to justify the extra 12hp it consumes. Also buy a big assortment of multi-colored leds for them so you can color code them! You can get a bunch for like 5 bucks.
Noise Engineering is just making INCREDIBLE modules right now. thanks for the new video this looks great! How would you compare it to other generative sequencers like the Vermona Melodicer or Turing Machine?
I've been weighing this vs Clank Chaos to replace Marbles in one of my cases. I know you've been a Chaos user for a while, I'd be curious to hear your opinion about the comparison as someone who seems to enjoy both.
I was thinking about making a smol little generative machine with this thing. Ofc lends itself really well for performance as well, love what Noise Engineering have been doing latetly! Also would love to have a Video from you on the Ritual Electronics Amnis and SSF Impulse Dynamics, if that is in any way possible. Cheers!
Great video Jeremy. Gamut Repetitor is the best and I've found that pairing with all kinds of trigger sequencers really makes it shine. But what really makes me happy is that you can use all 4 outs to quickly build a song.. and saving time there allows you extra time for modulation and effects exploration once you get it going!
Good stuff, looking for a small sequencer. Wish the new oct tone was available in US Have a much smaller setup so looking to use Lapsus Os in a similar manner to how you're using that fader+mults
Does it slew? Slew probability would be cool. Probably a lot to ask, it's already pretty dense for 10hp. Scale mode transpose issue seems like an oversight tho, hopefully they fix that in a firmware update or make an alt FW with it.
Hey Jeremy, is this custom made case? Also for the smaller systems, Tripplat/Quadrrat, or 3 MIA could work, for sending voltage into mod spots on Gamut.
I just patched up a microphone through a flamma pre amp pedal, and an Amazon basics compressor, into a matrix mixer then through 2 different clouds, and a 2hp pitch shifter, and got my young daughter to sing silly songs with mega-harmony! 😊
I'm super happy to see this module demoed

Btw, I'd love to see you jam on the Doboz T12 you have in the front row. I keep seeing it unused in your vids and I want to see you make it shine!
That's a smart way to do it
@@peedee5324I have been meaning to do a video on that! Good call.

Great demo, great jams Jeremy! Happy New Year!
Been thinking about getting this for bass lines, thanks for the video!

Is that a Hermod+ expander in the lower left of the case?… next to the Hermod+… I’ve been waiting for this! 😊 great video as always.
really love those pattern on the fly modules for performative action. cheerzz for this video !
I’ve been using steppy to send triggers to my gamut. Killer way to get quick changes
Thanks for everything you've done over the years!! Happy New ❤Year

I second that recommendation! It’s wonderful 👌
Man, this looks like a great tool for on the moment improvisation. That's so cool!

It's sort of like 4 turning machines with added features
I cannot believe my comment worked!
Thank you so much for this demo!
🎉healthy new year
I'd love a breakdown of the basimilus iteras alter. Some heavy electro bass stuff 😊

The bassline on that first patch is stupidly funky

Just a reminder a voltage block can be used just like the fader bank he’s using. Just set the length to 1 step for the desired channels on the VB.
this module pairs really well with the Intellijel Scales for obvious reasons
So the root input take 1v/oct? Thats good to know.
RGBLED. Have a BLT! 5:15
Thanks again for the great videos, Mr Jeremy. I'd like to se some more on that Q-Bit Prism if that interests you.
I just watched the Prism video again. It's so nifty. I think you covered pretty well the first time. :)
I have a video dedicated to prism on this channel!
I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on the Mimetic Digitalis.
Hi Jeremy! Happy new year and thanks for a fab demo! What is the name of that fader box, please.. I keep missing it!
F8R
F8r 🎉
@@RedMeansRecording Thanks, Jeremy! Hugz!
I just got a Clank Chaos today! What is your opinion on Gamut vs the Chaos, Jeremy?
it reminds me of Melodicer from Vermona no?
Does it still have the glitch with longer notes and "only" pling possible or did they change that? Could n hear it that good :)

Yes it is. From 2 Many Synths
I'll repetitate your gamut, Mr.

Rude transpose wins the day for me
So many sequencers...
Fuuuuuuuuun!
