Yeah I use VCV and really like phase distortion, so looking forward to trying this. I just hope ALM do a better virtual implementation than MFX, because I bought that last year and it's buggy as hell!
I’m so impressed with features and sound. Love the CZs. And it’s the perfect real estate to swap out my current “chord” voice which was never quite the tone I wanted. Honestly I think you guys just released another hit 🎉👏👏
So far I’ve watched this video at least once per day since it came out. I need more demo videos to tide me over until I can actually pick one up (currently moving halfway across the globe)
The problem I have with digital tuned oscillators is that they’re always, _always_ so focused on 12-tone equal temperament. It’s always a struggle to get support for non-western scales or microtonality. Analog oscillators have weird finnicky pitch drifts and lack of flexibility. But overall, it seems like a great module! Phase distortion is always nice to see
this is great! love the UI, nice and clear. I feel that "The cizzle finally brings the distinct style of CZ phase-distortion synthesis to eurorack" might be a bit misleading though, that sounds like this is the only one. shout out to Warp Core
Ive been rewatching all of the ALM product videos this week because ive had this feeling that they were gonna come out with something new, AND ive also been deeply researching phase distortion and modulation the last week….. coincidence?? O_o
@@GreifiSilmar yes plenty of have them now days, OXI Coral for example, having midi gives you access to making your own chords, also plenty of modular sequencers have midi outs also
By the text I'm made to believe that the Cizzle is the first module to bring PD synthesis to Eurorack, but MakeNoise brought phase distortion into Eurorack already with the Telharmonic almost a decade ago. It has three oscillators with oscillator layering and detuning as well as morphable PD wave generation.
Telharmonic is phase modulation which was renamed ‘FM’ by Yamaha. Phase distortion is different. Warp Core is a module that’s been around a while that has phase distortion, possibly Hertz Donut too.
Sounds lovely, but I'll wait for Cizzle 2. Lots of odd omissions here. No visual indicator of encoder state. No attenuversion of PD Algo. Level becomes attenuator when patched, but should remain an offset since attenuation is more widely available externally than offset. Level could also gain attenuversion for the best of everything. B deserves a selectable tracking mode that isn't semitone locked (maybe that's there, but not in the video?) The module deserves MIDI input. There's a strange hard clipping type noise present in the video (which seems related to certain parameter combinations.) And either Pam is sending pitch late or Cizzle is reading pitch after reading Level. (I'm pretty sure I'm hearing pitch jumps at note onset, though that could be something else caused by envelope modulation I suppose.)
Love the fact that this is also available in VCV rack! You guys are the best!!!

ALM, it would be very nice if you would make software modules for Cherry Audio’s Voltage Modular!
@@russ254why? Is it better than vcv rack?
@@dominicj1170 It's a lot cheaper, and pretty cool!
Fantastic! Love phase distortion, love the CZs, love ALM ... winner!
Same. CZ is just so crispy and somehow mellow at the same time. 😂
That drums patch... Sounds so good. It really is the 90s.
Fantastic! I covered it on the channel, very VERY well done..

Love the functionality of the clickable encoder for frequency
OMGGGGGGGG those Detroit sounds. Amazing.
I need dis
also sensational work on the ending jams
Wow this is loaded. Nice job.
Great intro video. Wish there were more makers that kept it simple. Good all round.

Keep returning to this. That patch at 29:00 is sick.
Doing the lords work with that chord mode! Keep up the great work.
Roommates dog peed on my cz101 20 years ago, been meaning to replace it. This sounds nice.
ALM bringing the heat, totally sold on the CIZZLE.
This is so genius! Thank you so much!
Genius way to layout the frequency knob!
Top notch per usual 🤌 the musicality is evident and inspiring
fantastic!
I like the chord section.
Welcome to VCV-Rack! :)
Incredible module here. Big up
Phew..! Now finally, after all these years, I don’t need to continue learning how to program my CZ 101…😦👍
Amazing! So many moments of "wow"! ❤👌☺️
There are a lot of interesting sounds in there.
Excellent company.
sounds great
sounds awesome

I have the same issue, I use a disting to help micro tuning

True, but maybe this will bring the CZ style and actually have great V/Oct range and tracking, unlike Warp Core.
@@jg_ultraI don't have the hardware but Warp Core is one of my favourite VCOs in VCV. Can't wait to try this too.

Very cool! Adding a chord mode like Plaits is a great feature. Any plans for allowing custom chords, perhaps replacing the detuned unisons?
Amazing!
Man this looks cool! ❤
ALM are just too good.
Excellent.
Awesome CZ flashback, great sounds and new possibilities.
Midi input would've been nice considering how many voices it has
A dedicated midi input for a Eurorack oscillator?
@@GreifiSilmarYes, if polyphonic. Wouldn't be the first time, and shouldn't be the last.
@@jg_ultrawell, Yarns did had one but it's still very uncommon.

Said no one ever
such fun!
Nice addition! Any chance releasing a casio FZ filter? Been dreaming about for more than a decade!
Already did - see the 'Fizzle Guts'. Note it was discontinued but is now open source and still being built by some DIY'ers.
Oh hell yeah!
YES ... !
Very nice!
Sounds great, GAS is on high!
amazing~
sounds dangg good.. but how does it sound through a fizzle guts? Cizzle through a fizzle plz
Fo shizzle ma nizzle!
at 15:00 I wish you would have patched output A to attack or decay cv on the pip. Great vid!!!!
Looks like another winning module from the ALM stable.
The inversion selection changes the chord mode from a gimmick to a usable feature.
Wow this is amazing!!
It does all the stuff I like to do with the Castle but easier
I need this to go with my Fizzle Guts

YESSSSSSSS
Kastle 1.5 brought to eurorack
Ah uhhhh must have!
Hey who did the intro animation?
How much of a hit is this... _definitely_ gonna cost me?¿?
Gimme that
TAKE MY MONEY
What is total freq range?
OSC A is approx 8 octaves. OSC B (in standalone mode) is approx 6 octaves. See manual for details.
Modulars make source - effect - output so much more intelligible.
Please take my money. I love you but you've made my CZ-1000 very nervous.
