Yes. I think that she in fact played two gigs with them in 2017, the other being at the Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto. @@Mister_Pedantic I saw a video of the band from 2015 and they had a blond woman drumming with a different bass player, so this could be the second, in-between the present brunette drummer.
It’s also possible she is a sub drummer so they could cover a few gigs. We’ve had to do that before and sometimes it’s a better option to canceling the show(s).
@@thesurfjunkies You're right---is Sam Maloney, who apparently filled in for two gigs in 2017 after the group's first drummer, Amber, left the band. The group's second drummer, Anna, joined and stayed with the group for a few years and then left. When Anna left, Sam (this woman), became the group's third drummer in 2021. She was their drummer for about a year and a half and was PHENOMENAL. Their fourth drummer, Annie, is also really good, but Sam drove this band like no other.
Must confess, when I first saw them thought "oh no, another girl band playing three chord songs". Sorry, ladies, could not have been more wrong! The Surfragettes look good /play good. Fantastic! (love your gear, so cute, so perfectly retro)
