    Hi and welcome to this Power BI Quick Start course. In this course, I’ll walk you step-by-step through the process of using Power BI to create a fully interactive dashboard in around 90 minutes, even if you’ve never used Power BI before.

    I use Power BI every day to create dashboards and reports to support me in my role as an engineer. I specialise in helping maintenance and reliability professionals learn how to build effective dashboards using Power BI. That said, anyone who is looking to learn how to get started will Power BI is going to benefit from this quick start course.
    By the end of this short quick start course you'll have created your own fully interactive dashboard. You'll have learned the key skills you need to get up and running with Power BI and will have developed the confidence to start creating your own effective dashboards using Power BI. You won't be an expert but you'll have developed a solid foundation for continuing your Power BI learning.
    The course is split into 5 sections.
    Section 1 is a short introduction to my 5 step process for building an effective dashboard.
    Section 2 covers importing data into Power BI.
    Section 3, is the longest section and it covers building your work order backlog dashboard.
    Section 4 looks at ways to enhancing your dashboard using drill throughs, tooltips and conditional formatting features available in Power BI.
    Finally, in section 5 you'll publish the dashboard to the Power BI service, allowing you to view and share your dashboard with the world through your web browser.
    This course is specifically designed for maintenance and reliability engineers who want to use Power BI to improve how they visualise and use their data.
