She had an unforgettable voice
Love Connie Francis, great voice, so many big hits! She’s still around today, 86 years old 👍
thank you - love you guys!
I was born in 1957 this song came out in 1961, my Mom told me later that if she played this song I would put down my toys, sit and keep time with the piano and just Love it!!! imagine how this song sounds to a 4 year old boy or girl? I will always love it and your reaction to this song as I grew up with it and sang it with Where the Girls Are!!!
Connie was in this movie. She is the girl with the dark short hair and dark blue dress! Wonderful singer!!
Connie Francis, when I was young I saw her in the movies couldn't help but love her❤ a radio favorite, the 60's were so innocent, times have changed I hope we don't lose innocence totally. Peace✌️ and Love❤️ your 70 year old forever hippie Gary😊 great reaction 🤣
My favorite Connie Francis song! This was well before my time, but I still loved it.
Some of Connie's other big hits were "Everybody's Somebody's Fool," "Who's Sorry Now," and "Lipstick On Your Collar."
My favorite singer from that era. Thank you for appreciating her talent. At one time she and Bobby Darin were sweethearts.
I was a teen in the sixties and can say now at the ripe old age of 70 I’d do it all over again.
Loved her voice and the movie
I grew-up in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. and lived there till the middle 70's. The Spring break scene was always very much anticipated. I had Connie Francis posters plastered all over my bedroom !! Still love, Connie !! Love you guys too !!
This was The Titled song of the 1960 movie of the same name titled "Where The Boys Are." This movie helped make Fort Lauderdale Florida world famous. And every spring break in America. Fort Lauderdale and other places in the great state of Florida USA are pack by the thousands by High School and College students Spring Breakers. This was one of Connie Francis greatest hits. Connie Francis was also in the movie and is the one with Dark Brown short hair and wearing a Dark Blue Dress in the opening scenes. In (1963) Connie Francis sings the titled song to the movie of the same name "Follow The Boys. She also stars in the movie. Love your reaction to one of the greatest female singers of all times.
Thank you for the info 😊
Thank you for giving my comments a heartfelt reply. Love you guys.
@@MerchantOfAlba You are very welcome. Love you guys.
Connie was a first-class singer, all the way..Growing up in an Italian-Jewish neighborhood, Francis became fluent in Yiddish, which led her later to record songs in Yiddish and Hebrew. Over the years she expanded her recording portfolio to 15 languages. She also sang in Romanian during a live performance at the 1970 edition of the Cerbul de Aur in Brașov, Romania. Francis was not fluent in all of these languages and she had to learn her foreign language songs phonetically. Francis explained in a 1961 television interview that she was fluent in Spanish and Italian, but always had a translator nearby to make sure her translated lyrics and especially her pronunciation were as correct as possible.
That's amazing. Thank you for the info 😊
Love Connie. My favorite female singer.
These fantastic female singers........Connie, Patsy Cline,Dusty Springfield ETC , paved the way for the singers in the 60's,70's !
Yes and don't forget my personal favorite Brenda lee
@@TinaRobinson-qf1dh I knew I had left her out right after I finished typing but I did say a big ETC.LOL Yes, Brenda lee, now there was a VOICE :)
The best of the best. She was the biggest star in the world. Top female concert artist, many firsts for this woman. She had the first #1 hit by a female artist of the Billboard Hot 100 charts, and the first to have back-to-back #1s. The video is from her first movie called Where The Boys Are. She is responsible for popularizing Spring Break through this song and movie. Always my favorite singer.
Connie is the one with blue dress and dark hair. Absolutely love her. I have a few of her albums. This is scenes from the movie Where The Boys Are. Back in the day, college students went to Fort Lauderdale Florida for spring break to blow off stem before finals. Love the song Stupid Cupid ❤.
"Where The Boys Are" was a classic movie about Spring break in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida where college kids would go to blow off steam during their spring break from classes. These are scenes from the movie and Connie was in it - the one with the dark hair.
I saw Connie in a small concert in Vietnam 1968
Love her voice. Try "Stupid Cupid"
This was filmed in my hometown, Ft. Lauderdale, FL I was too young or I would have been down there when they were filming. later in my life she was a neighbor but I never got to meet her. Love your reactions.
Best female singer of all time.
True!
Connie was something else. Felt the same way you guys felt the first time I heard her.
This is the theme song from the 1960 movie of the same name. These scenes are from that movie. The movie is about spring break in Florida. Check out Connie's "Among My Souvenirs".
At the end of the accompanying video is George Hamilton - the forever tanned actor! He played romantic as well as funny roles!
The title of the song was the title of the film from 1960. Connie is such a tiny lady with huge voice, now in her late 80’s !
Connie sang everything, all genre and with great success. The movie was a great success all over the world. and is responsible for the popularization of Spring Break.
My favorite Connie song is one that was not popular but absolutely beautiful and showcases her singing English/Italian ...pls check out her performance of Al Di La from the Ed Sullivan show 💚🎶🎵
The video is from the movie "Where The Boys Are" which was made based on the song. In the scene where the girls were moving into the room. The lady in the darker blue dress is Connie Francis
Oh cool, thank you 😊
I was a very young teen then.I loved it then..Connie Francis has some Very beautiful songs and a funny one called Lipstick on your Collar
Connie Francis was an amazing vocalist and the video is showing scenes from the movie “Where The Boys Are.” One of my fave “beach” movies back in the 1960s but this was not all fun and games in this movie. The blonde actress, Yvette Mimieux’s character was sexually assaulted in the movie. Heavy duty subject at that time. Loved your reactions!
Absolutely beautiful
Thanks for remembering Connie, here in Germany she had some big hits in german.❤
The narrative changed on TV, music, and the movies, from Romance to Sex Appeal & Lust, and from where it went from imagination to realization. In a sense it's why they wouldn't show Elvis below the waste on TV in the beginning -- fear of unleashing the wild side of humanity. And generally, it's pretty much what happened. So now, we just have to use our imagination today to put ourselves back in those days of innocence and romance and chivalry. And it's fun to watch you guys enjoy it too!
Listen to, "Stupid Cupid", and she was so very young!
Just beautiful, such sweetness 😊
I am 77, and this was truly the music of my youth! Thank you for your fulsome and joyous reaction!
👏💛👍👍🎉🎉❤️
The scene with the guy drawing a question mark in the sand..the girl is Delores Hart. She gave up acting and became a nun. She is now known as Mother Delores Hart. She appeared in 2 Elvis movies…Loving You and King Creole. She was in 14 movies total. Cheers
Love this track one of my favourites, you should check out Among My Souvenirs another belter.
I’m a big fan of Connie Francis. I clicked as soon as I saw you were reacting to her. The movie was not my favorite but the song is a smash.
Gotta check out Connie Francis' - Senza Fine.
Connie was in a lot of Hollywood surf movie musicals.
❤❤❤
Take a listen to Oh My Papa. They played it in all the Italian restaurants in NJ. She lived one town over from me.
Wow,I know I am old but so much has changed since this song was a hit. There was so much hope for a united World of mankind and the end of such terrible wars but this world peace is still so elusive,I fear will never happen. What a lovely sweet time it was.
Bobby Darin was the love of Connie Francis's life. Unfortunately, her parents forbid her to get serious with him.
This early 60s was much more innocent and simpler than the late 60s and 70s and especially the decades that followed. Unfortunately, 2024 doesn't resemble those times in any manner that I have seen from the "music" to the misguided direction that a majority of the people are following. I love your reactions and how you always show your true hearts and emotions ♥️.
Thank you kindly...and sadly we need to agree with your statement about today's world 😔
At some point I'd try another of hers 'Who's Sorry Now'.
The girl with the top knot bun became a nun in real life just after this movie.
🇬🇧
"Lipstick On Your Collar" & "Stupid Cupid" I think you'd really like both songs by Connie from the 60s. ❤🎶🎙️📀
GREAT SONG FROM 1960-L❤VE YOUR REACTIONS👍👍
YOU SHOULD WATCH THE MOVIE 🎥🍿
Connie Francis did a wonderful song after President Kennedy was killed. I think it was called The Summer of His Years.
Yvette Mimieux is too cute!
You should try her song called ( Mama )
I was born in 1945 so I was a kid all through the 1950's and then a teenager and young man in the 1960's . What a time to grow up in the USA . I know memory is faulty and we tend to exaggerate how good the past was while ignoring the bad aspects , but I think that society overall was much saner and more wholesome then. Even though I was a hippie who was doing LSD , peyote , and other drugs , it was done in a spirit of expanding one's mind and love and kindness to humanity . Today's young seem to be mostly lost and hopeless in a world where the future looks very bleak .
But there was another side... a lot of those teenagers in the 60's grew up to become professors in college and became part of the far-left ideology that has permeated culture for decades now. There was a lot more than peace, love and rock & roll going on. A lot of this 'hopeless feeling' today is due to their war against God and freedom. But glad you made it through Rodney, it was by a miracle some of us survived our youth!
@@MoMoMyPup10 Thank you . I think that the democrats' war in Viet Nam was the major cause of the psycho left's resurgence . The communists were behind the protests against the war being fought against their fellow communists in Viet Nam and the stupidity of it and LBJ's total mishandling of it through his ignorant micro-management helped to drive many of those young to the left and make it more mainstream . His New Society garbage and its pandering to the blacks created further division in US society and helped to destroy the black family unit and to a lesser extent , the white family as well .As I said above , my memory focuses upon the good memories and tries to forget the bad , but your comment brought the bad back to the forefront .The left have had a very effective master plan ,installing their operatives into positions of power in the schools , the media , and the entertainment industry , all powerful molders of young minds . In my case I think growing up in the rural South Instilled more traditional values in me as my base . Hail fellow survivor !!
She had a powerful ,warm and lovely voice. The silly teen movies aside .
My friend Aaron who died young loved Connie! And this song especially because he was gay.
Oh yeah
You're also reacting to the BEST music from each era, you aren't hearing the garbage lol. Though I'd argue that the mainstream pop from the 50s and 60s was consistently terrific. Moving away from the insanely talented Jazz and Big-Band era of the 30s and 40s, record companies still had very high standards when it came to overall quality.
Scenes are from the movie of the same name. The movie made Fort Lauderdale as the place for college students to go for Spring Break. Sadly she was assaulted in her hotel room and never was the sane after that.
Oh, so sad 😢
Another very sweet voice was Brenda Lee
this is a song tribute to the men and women in the arm service !
Yes Connie Francis had a super fine voice. But it was a time of huge cultural change. Rock became the new thing. She, like some of her contemporaries, had to go to Germany for her career to continue.
She was very popular in the 5O’s and Early 60’s. I was wondering why no one was doing reactions to her.
there are many reaction videos of Connie.
Connie is another one of the great young lady singers of the late 50's - early 60's. Some of her hits were "Stupid Cupid", "My Happiness", "Among My Souvenirs", "Lipstick on Your Collar", "Who's Sorry Now", "Frankie" etc. She recorded many of her songs in other languages. And she did the singing voice for some actresses in a few movies. She had a very tragic life (was raped, lost her voice for a few years with complications from surgery, her brother was murdered, suffered from manic depression, married 4 times).
Oh wow. That is really a lot to deal with for one person 😔...such an amazing voice 😍
Vince Gill, Bob Seger, Rascal Flats , by the way, I really enjoy watching your reactions to these songs.
Nice sending huggs but i wuz 2 month in the hospital sorry i couldnt react so much love the song❤🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱🇨🇼🇨🇼🇨🇼🇨🇼🇨🇼🇨🇼🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Much love and warm wishes 💚
Watch the movie Where the Boys are.
This was a movie, you don’t see her singing.
You have to watch the movie of the same name
This song makes me think of gay bars.
You should react to the Movie!
That's a great idea 🙂 Thank you 👍
don't know who you are listening to, but this doesn't sound like Connie Francis? I've listened to this song roughly about a million times and grew up in that era, and have the movie on DVD.
It definitely is Connie, but the audio is a bit high pitch.
The video you saw was a movie the song was based on
She had an unforgettable voice
