Rope Failure training exercise on ASK-21 with moderate crosswind

  • Simulating rope failure is part of my SFCL training routines. In this example we are practicing this situation with a 45° left crosswind at 11 Kts, so once turned around everything happens much faster than usual.
    Height is also a factor, as the takeoff happens much earlier thus altitude over the runway will be higher once the glider is facing the airport back.
    Overall a great experience and a new teaching to bring back home.
