I dont see no one mentioning them, but Namco were *all over* when it came to CDs you had: - the main GSE and GSM series of VGM albums that also came with remixes or in the case of some, "scenerio" tracks that were just audio gameplay - This is Namco, a jazz remix album that has arranged music from Pac-Man, Galaga 88, Rolling Thunder and more - and the entirety of Video Game Graffiti, a 10 volume series of select Namco game soundtracks and remixes, though in cases of the first and fourth album, *entire audio dramas* I highly reccomend anyone here to listen to Namco's catalogue from back then!
F Zero X Arranged is peak Nintendo Metal. Also, the Zelda 25th anniversary soundtrack is a neat lil bonus, I even ripped it to my PC's Music Library because i liked the music of Zelda so much.
Nintendo just suddenly dropping all 3 Xenoblade OSTs onto iTunes was nuts. Unfortunately NOT Spotify yet. But you know what Nintendo game OST is on Spotify? Kirby Robobot.
Though it doesn't contain any video game original music, White Knuckle scorin is an interesting release by Nintendo, to say the least. Truley, the compilation is only relevant because of the first song, Jellyfish's Ignorance is bliss, being a Mario inspired song. All the others get contextually shoehorned in by the paper album track included with the CD, if i remember correctly.
I just found your channel through the nintendo music app vid and I got to say I've already binged like 4 of your videos, they're all really enjoyable and I love your script quality!!!
One thing that I hope to see someday, and others have also said it, is that these CDs of arrangements and selections someday be added to the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack. Sure, there might be some red tape with the musicians or estates thereof, and it wouldn't necessarily be the same as having the CD, but why not? In theory, the same compression for the vault in Smash Ultimate could be used here.
I only knew about the Mario Kart album because RUclips randomly reccomended it one day. Thanks to you I got a couple more albums/soundtracks to check out
You should have mentioned the Pokémon game soundtracks released earlier this year. In that case, I think they had a contract that expired after Let’s Go that took a while to renegotiate. Still waiting for digital releases to resume.
I suspect a lot of the arrangements couldn’t be brought out of Japan due to licensing issues. Also, Nintendo did put out soundtrack releases from the mid-late 90’s in the US, primarily via the Nintendo Power Super Power Club catalog. I suspect they encountered apathy/resistance from western music distributors that were unwilling to work with them.
6:33 I remember ripping the F-Zero arranged soundtrack from some now-defunct music streaming site back in the mid 2000s! EDIT: Wow! That Ocarina of Time album is sooooooo turn of the millennium! EDIT 2: I remember the album Smashing Live, a live concert recording of tracks from Super Smash Bros. Melee.
Relic Hotel theme 🫶 I've always found video game soundtrack cds to be interesting and cool pieces of media. I've wanted to own one for a while but never have gotten my hands on one

It's a shame most soundtracks are Japan exclusive... but that's just Nintendo for you. I have a physical release of the BOTW soundtrack, worth it.

I would love it if we could unlock these tracks in Smash. It would be a fantastic way to preserve them.
Man I just discovered your channel and you deserve more subscribers!! Love your content and keep going with the good stuff

only 500 views? bro deserves like 200k at least, great video
I wish the complete sound tracks were distributed more widely. Kinda stinks shelling out $25 just to ship, even if it does arrive in 2-3 days.
Surprised that the Satellaview wasn't mentioned, since some albums cropped up on it.
