- Hi everyone,
This is my collage for week 26 of the challenge being hosted by Margarete Miller this year ( see below for details, if the #2024CW challenge is new to you and/or if you’re interested in taking part).
The prompts set for this assignment were as follows:
1. ‘A leftover art scrap in your workspace’ ~ I chose a small piece of scrap
splatter with pink, lilac and blue mica paint.
2. ‘Sheet music’ ~ I found a piece that I’ve previously covered with
tissue paper to soften the base colour.... perfect for the delicate
images I used for another of the prompts.
3. ‘ Rubber stamping in any colour but black’ ~ I use ‘Potting Soil’
Archival ink to pick up the brown earthy tones in my images.
4. ‘ A retro household product’ ~ A gorgeous pale blue retro toaster.
5. ‘A mushroom or a toadstool’ ~ I used various images of both.
Bonus ‘Bell or bells’ ~ I fussy cut an image of a blue bell sprig which I thought would work in well with the mushrooms and toadstools.

I'm so glad you chose to stamp onto a label and then add it to this beautiful collage, my heart falls into my stomach when I watch you do it directly onto the page! This one is lovely Carol, only 'you' could pull those images together like that ... LOVE IT.

Inspired! I love all you do. What a wonderful idea to use bluebells for the bells prompt.
I was trying to think of something that would sit well with the mouse, leaves, toadstools etc and that came to mind. Pleased it did but I should have found a smaller image as it might have been easier to work in .... but hey ho, I live and learn 🤣. Thanks so much for watching again. Elaine. Hugs C xx

Hey Carol 👋! I always admire your fussy cutting. Since I can’t do well on my images or stamping straight 😅😅😅good one again on this one!

Sometimes, at the beginning of a video, I make snap judgments that are proven so wrong. My first thought was a toaster with mushrooms? Seriously!? I LOVE LOVE LOVE how this collage turned out!!! All the elements worked so well together! Thank you for sharing your talent with us. And using bluebells for the bell prompt was genius!
You know I do exactly the same! But sometimes Margarete Miller sets such a challenge with her assignment prompts that it's hard not to use something as contrasting as mushrooms and a toaster. I did cheat by popping it into the background with tons of interest over and around it, in the hope that it wouldn't be noticed too much and fade into the background... seems to work, Phew!!!! I got those tweezers from BeeBeeCrafts. They came in a wrapped black and blue canvas case of ten (!) detailed tweezers that are all as awesome as the pair I used in the video. They're not expensive at all and excellent value for money. I've had mine for about 3yrs now, they look as good as new and work so well for all those fiddly bits where my fingers just can't get....lol. Hugs C xx
Bonjour Carole et merci pour la vidéo : toujours un plaisir. Malheureusement pas de traduction en français.... c'est tellement dommage pour moi 😢 . Je voulais avoir votre avis sur " a retro household product" car parfois on voit une ancienne publicité pour 1 produit d'entretien et d'autres fois un élément de la cuisine ( grille pain, gazière....). Je suis perplexe ! Merci pour vos conseils. Bises de France 😊 .

Je suis vraiment désolé et je vais essayer de les activer manuellement pour vous.
Moi aussi, j'ai été dérouté par le « produit ménager rétro », MAIS en vérifiant, cela signifie vraiment n'importe quoi, un produit ou un appareil ménager, par exemple le grille-pain qui a été fabriqué/produit. J'ai donc opté pour cela et j'ai choisi le grille-pain. J'espère que ça aide un peu.

Bonjour Carol : j'ai trouvé comment activer les sous titres en français depuis mon poste. Tout est ok pour moi : ça va être 1 réel soulagement 😂
