    If only 3% are traveling in vehicles how does this makes sense ? New York is the only city in the world that doesn’t support in/out turnstiles for subway and train riders . Germany relies on massive fines for being on public transportation w/out a valid ticket.

    There are many vocal opposers who represent a small percentage of people coming to work in Manhattan. The governor miscalculated her move on this.

      No she did not. The silent majority oppose this. Poll after poll showed that most NYC residents didn't support this. Traffic and pollution would've increased in the outer boroughs and in some communities such as Battery Park City and the Lower East Side according to the MTA. Many small businesses would've had to increase costs and would've lost some business. This was nothing more than a cash grab for a transit agency that is poorly managed and the Governor made the right decision

      Anyone worrking on and taking public transportation to Manhattan should have the brains to realize the MTA is the most wasteful transportation agency in the world. Audit the MTA and use the savings to repair the subway.

      According to Wikipedia, the top 3% of households in the United States have an annual gross income of at least $200,000.
      Alternately buy an unlimited Metro 🚇 pass for a $1600 yearly
      From NJ, $2200 yearly for NJ Transit to NYC unlimited...
      We're talking an extra $1k to $2k for people with $200k minimum income
      These weirdos.... Pay it and shut it.

      Most people who drive into Manhattan are not wealthy. The middle class is not the wealthy. The notion that only rich people drive is absurd. I have relatives and neighbors who live in the CBD that drive and they are not wealthy. Many small business owners, police, firefighters, city workers who use their personal vehicle aren't rich people. Comments like yours are just ridiculous.
