I love skating…I could never do it well, but as a kid I dreamt I could! This is a great reminder of the work it takes to do this stuff, and the pain ..with the joy!

Unless, of course, it’s poor French single figure skater Leticia Huber, who had a jaw-droppingly great short program in the Olympics many years ago, and whose long program was such a disaster it looked like a comedy routine! I felt so bad for the young girl; but, I also laughed my butt off. Anyone else remember that?
Fighting gravity and inertia is not for everyone. Nobody's perfect, and the fact that they get up and keep going is what matters. Misleading title. It's not embarrassing to fall; it's human.
People, don't get me wrong...there is nothing nice/laughable in falling from the perspective of being hurt, discouraged, ashamed etc. I love FS and admire their artistry and skill no matter what happens on the ice. Sometimes, the conditions for skating are bad and figure elements become more and more demanding. But, of course there are funny moments as presented here and I appreciate that the author shows us only the light ones and lets us indulge in minutes of healthy laughter. 💐💐💐

the falls scare me less than the way their bodies are bending and contorting during the fall. i'd rather have a bruise than a pulled muscle or ligament any day! Owie!! Also, sometimes it's extremely humbling to see professionals fall. I'm learning to skate and it sucks to fall! But it's about getting up and practicing some more!

I would like to be able to do even a fraction of what those who fell were able to do. All I can do is fall with my skates on the ice.
Doubt idea I suppose but wouldn't it be cool if ONE whole night of figure skating was simply made of mistakes?? The coaches could say, "Okay ppl, here are the MOST mistakes is here & here. Lets see you do them!!!

I totally agree, should not be embarrassed in falling. What these pairs do is not easy.
Ice skaters are so good at falling! Even the slightest edge catch will take them down. The guy at 6:13ish who saved both him and his partner was wild!
