Some great covers there Mike. I've not heard the Holly Beth Vincent version of For What It's Worth. I think it's amazing just how many great songs were covered by punks, many of them put on b sides of singles. Thanks very much for jumping on the thread. Cheers Mike 👍
I really like Pennywise.. Their cover of "Stand By Me" one of my all time favorites ! Also Social D "Ring Of Fire" DK's "Viva Las Vegas".. Rise Against doing "Fix Me" A Black Flag cover..H2O doing 7 Seconds "Not Just Boys Fun".. The Clash doing the best cover ever of Bobby Fuller's "I Fought The Law" .. And lastly Dropkick Murphy's doing a great cover of CCR's "Fortunate Son"
When punk got going it was all about trashing all the older band with all the old songs. But look at all the covers they did. They loved the music but it just wasn’t cool to say so
Steve, most of us punks were listening to stuff long before punk and anyone with any sense carried on listening throughout. You would have to be pretty boring to like only one genre.

LAIBACH do the best cover versions in the entire world. LOL
They do Neil, but fall short of the punk tag.
