why do i get Unsupported Media Type: Please provide direct link to an iso or qcow2 image. and am providing the same link in the video like exactly the same with everything correct when uploading an custom image and i also have paid extra for it ?
@@stivanivanov1 i figured it out you need to host a webserver then upload the kali image there then put the url of your machine with the image name. Support not helpful at all
I fixed it myself. Basically you need to get the iso from another site like ftp{.}riken{.}jp. However, for now I'm not getting a Graphical Install option, went with the Terminal one
@@ooxoox176 That's dope! However, I found out another much better way, basically contabo has trouble getting the iso from the official kali website. I gave it another site that had the current version of 2024.02 and it worked like a charm. I tried the self host a webserver for which I port forwarded the web port through my router but for some reason contabo was getting an internal server error, probably because of the lack of TLS as I was only using a simple python server. The website I used for the iso is cdiimage1kali1org - interpret the ones (1) as dots since links are not allowed here
@@cloud-tech Didn't see you message me there - thanks for your response! I tried purchasing a vps + custom images just to try, since they doesn't cost a fortune anyway. Was overhyped when it booted, and I got to actually do some of the installation process. But when I got to the drive selection screen it was just empty, would have been amazing though. I already got a license and don't want to bother with having the hardware in my home anymore. So I'm trying to use these cheap providers for my testlab.

Hey nice video. :)
Do you know if I can install windows using custom images?
Unfortunately no, as you would have to have created a Windows with Virtio Drivers on it. if you do that its theorectically possible
