    I had a qy10, qy20, qy22, qy70 and qy100. Wow. Kinda just blew my mind there. I upgraded as they came out. Out of all of them, the qy10 was the most fun and had my fav sounds. 70 and 100 had adjustable filters but was so laborious to get done.

    I just bought a QY10 [3days ago] and I still can’t figure this thing out. The manual is very confusing to me [I like to mess around with effects processors, samplers, guitar, synthesizers and stuff, but I’m no musician]. I was hoping your video could help me to create a very simple backing sequence. And even tho the text below your video, sort of explains what you are doing, your fingers are moving so fast that I can’t see [or understand] what buttons they are pressing. You should make a video, where you actually speak and tell us how to accomplish, a simple backing track - it would be very helpful for a lot of us [I think].

      Yep, this machine is a bit confusing and outdated. I have more videos about it but don’t think I will make new videos, check them out ruclips.net/video/8vxto2ADxyw/видео.htmlsi=iErjpB2BFuvdYrSm ruclips.net/video/FYyXS8ixXrU/видео.htmlsi=_1OJYWy6E5J7-fW4

    I had one a long time ago and beside some easy basic things to do (pre-sets) it is rather hard to configure let alone composed a decent music with it. It is now in a box with a lot of other stuff from the past.

    • @audiowanderer
      @audiowanderer  5 месяцев назад

      Cool! That box maybe worth a look. Some old fashioned devices are still cool nowadays. The QY10 not certainly the best portable music composer right now but was revolutionary back in the day.

    • @audiowanderer
      @audiowanderer  3 года назад +1

      No worries. Happy to help. The QY-10 is a very basic tool for sequencing and composition. Nevertheless, if you are into dark wave, underground minimal techno, techno punk, etc can make some serious work. Have 4 tracks to record by steps or live. Limited sound bank, pretty outdated. Good machine if get it cheap

    Can I have this machine sequence the notes to multiple external synths? And have each synth sequencing a different pattern according to the qy10? So have one synth sequencing a bass line while the other is sequencing arpeggiated melody lines at the same ?

    • @audiowanderer

      Every channel you sequence have a midi channel assigned so you can use it in that way that you refer

      No, is more suitable for electro minimal techno or some sort of chiptune sounds. For Boombap the QY70 is good enough ruclips.net/video/YTrJIbUvOCc/видео.html

      It has midi out, so you can connect that midi out to a midi in in your DAW and record the midi notes from the device... So yes is very possible

      @kornesov cool! The problem with this kind of buttons is the graphite surface of the button contact is sometimes exhausted by the use. You need to press harder or… dismantle the unit and use a graphite pencil to add graphite to the surface (pro tip)

    • @audiowanderer
      @audiowanderer  4 года назад +1

      I have to take the qy-10 and check it but it was as simple as clear your pattern and after that define the measures before to rec anything. Then rec and you get your bars

      @@audiowanderer Hi, I bought a QY10 almost 30 years ago and just decided now to learn how to use it! I also can't get the Pattern to change from 1 measure or bar - I can get it to flash and change to 4 using the number pad, but neither pressing enter or yes will set it to 4. Please could you let me know how to do it? The manual is hard to follow.
