My Lenovo 13 screen started flickering and went completely blank. Replacing the display cable put it back to life. I followed each step and it was much easier than I initially had thought. Thank you so much!
MY laptop has this same issue. ID given up on it a few months back when I got busy with school. Great video thanks for uploading the whole process makes me feel better about trying this project!
I'm considering attempting this, as my local repair shop insisted they would have to replace the entire screen, not just the cable. Did you try? How did you get on?
Thanks for making this. Followed it to replace the cable for my wife's Yoga 15 IKB. Had to adapt slightly because the insides of the 15 are slightly different than the 13, but this was still a great help.
Nice Video , nice work , but i have to say that before screen replacement the user must always disconnect the battery first. You were lucky that the monitor or the board wasn't damaged.
Hey i got the same laptop and unfortunately my display cracked and need to be replaced. Addition to that i lost those small titanium colored plastics shown at 3:24 in your video. Can i get those too in my new screen? please reply i'm stuck.
I have the same device. The problem is that the touch only works at the bottom of the screen. The Start button and the taskbar, while at the top of the screen, the touch does not work at all. In addition, the mouse cursor moves involuntarily to the direction of the clock!! The effects of finger pressures appear on the screen animated, just as they appear in screen recording programs that show places of pressure! I was really tired. I also bought a used touch controller from eBay and did not find any difference! Do you think that LCD cable interferes with the touch control? THANK YOU.

I understand screen cable failure is a common problem with Lenovo laptops, and especially the Yoga touchscreen types like mine. Can you figure out the cause? Does the cable get pinched at any point while screen is rotated? Wondering whether there is a way to re-route or reinforce the cable at a pinch point to avoid recurrance.
I've recently had the flickering and line issues which tends to take place when my Yoga Slim 13" laptop starts cranking and generating heat (courtesy of 300+ tabs being open in my browser!?!). At times, it simply doesn't display, then it does when I next jump on it! I've taken it to 2 x computer repair shops and they've been lazy in their diagnosis in recommending a screen replacement. I sensed it wasn't the screen but rather the screen connector. Is this lazy diagnosis common behaviour amongst laptop repair shops? Thank you for confirming my suspicions!
@@TheNetGuySo… is it EVER the monitor which does this? I’ve asked another laptop repair centre of late and they swear that the sue requires a new monitor. They’re adamant the cable connector ever rarely wears out or comes to end of life before the monitor itself dies. Thoughts?
Hi Net Guy. I also have a 14" Yoga 730-13IKB with the screen glitches. Apparently, there are several different models for the replacement cable, depending on whether it has touch-screen or not, etc. Some have a 30 pin connector, some have a 40 pin connector. Did the model in your video have the touch screen with 1980x1080 resolution? Thanks in advance.
@@TheNetGuy Thanks for your fast response. The Amazon.com link you posted for the cable (part number DC02003GC00) has this description: "Connector type: 30-pin, only works with a NON Touch Screen". It’s a good practice but not required. Any lights when you plug the charger in? Also, if you hold down the power for 20 seconds while the charger is plugged in does anything happen?

Hi! Are you able to help me with my Lenovo? It’s only 2 years old and glitches so much I can’t use it. Please let me know if you offer those services. Thank you!!
Hi! Could you at least help me find the right cable to use? I have someone that may be able to help me but he says the cable you used isn’t compatible with touch screen?

Hi, I have the same problem on my lenovo yoga, and I think it is exactly the same, but the place where they are going to fix it wants to change the screen and the mainboard to solve the problem, but I don't know if those could be the causes of the glitching
Replacing the screen and mainboard is the same as replacing the engine and transmission in a car when the tire is flat. It’s a universal “get out of jail free” card for the shop because they don’t know. I’d recommend trying this first.
That’s a great question. I have not been able to find what you’re looking for. I had another plastic unibody Lenovo that fell, my daughters, and it’s almost impossible to fix the hinge area.
My laptop is the same Lenovo and when I start it up it has a black line flicker that goes across the screen... Is my problem the same as this one's a bad connector? And how would I know its not the screen? The touch screen is still responsive and still gets bright and its resolution is just as clear as when I bought it last year
I wish you showed us the issue before doing the replacement. I'm trying to identify someone else with the same ghosting issue with a Lenovo 730 as I have. I've inspected the cable and connections and it doesn't seem to be the culprit

@@TheNetGuy You can see what my YOGA 730-15IKB is suffering from in the following forensic video I captured. ruclips.net/video/eoMT8kR66xI/видео.html It's very interesting that the windows are "translucent" through each other - like old CRT based TVs and displays would have "burn in issues" When I'm in Paint or GIMP or whatever graphics program and I fill a canvas with solid black - the windows underneath is visable through the black. If I do a screen capture WIN+S - and take the image to another display (or just view it scaled up or down) the "ghosted windows" and artifacts aren't in the captured image - so the chipset thinks its putting out a signal without artifacts - so the artifacts are being generated at some point after the chipset has rendered the display... most likely by the hardware... but I am leaning to it being an issue with the drivers / chipset / screen/display hardware communication because the artifacts are not produced in the BIOS, on the boatloader screens, or in my brief trials with linux. They can also be dismissed (often) by just putting the system to sleep and waking it... although the reappear quite often. The way that the problem progressively gets worse the more concurrent time I spend on the machine seems to tell me that something is slipping out of tolerance or I have a soft-failure of a component *shrug*
Hi sir! my laptop has a problem, the screen has horizontal black stripes which at first looks like a thin strand of hair then enlarges and turns white when the cursor or screen changes. is the solution can replace the cable or screen?
Hi my 510 141sk screen flashes on and off sometimes, if I tilt the laptop forwards towards the viewer (not moving the screen) it goes black and tilting it backwards brings the display on. It is most strange. Dos this sound like the cable?
Definitely sounds like something is broken or lose in there. You can pull off the bottom cover and take a look to make sure that the cables are seated properly to the motherboard. Otherwise you’re gonna have to crack open the top.
