I'd heard it was good but hadn't ever looked into it, but your video explanation makes it sound really really good and makes me want to learn more about it and play it!
Thanks for reviewing Red Cathedral, Chris! It's been on my like-to-have list for a long time, and I think your discussion of it has helped push it up closer to the top. So refreshing to see a company not trying to increase the box size just for shelf presence and at such a great price. Liking the B-roll inclusion too!
Red cathedral is a such a good game in a small box. It ends up in the bag often because it’s small so it fits even when you are bringing something else massive
Totally agree with your review. This was one of my first games into the hobby that went a little heavier than games like Splendor and Azul. It's fantastic and I still like playing it now. I haven't rush to get the expansion, because the base game does feel varied enough. If I want something more complicated, I'll just play something else. Much like Splendor, it does what it does so well, that I keep it for times I want the kind of game experience it provides.
Just subscribed to your channel and I wish I would have watched this video before I created a Frankenstein box. The section that you talk about each game separately and when to play them makes sense. Which is also why it now makes sense to keep them in separate boxes. Too late now! 😭
@@RoomandBoardReviews It was from the Ladies of Troyes expansion box. I then printed vinyl sicker paper (premium) but it wasn't big enough so I printed multiple pages and stuck them all together (with some extra cuts). In short, yes, it all fit perfectly. But when I want to bring it out for group play, I get those weird looks like I just invented this game. But this is my #1 game of my 60 games, so it was worth it.
Chris, I'd be really interested to hear your thoughts on Rallyman GT. It's generally reasonably priced, under $50 MSRP US. Think my FLGS carries for around $35-40.
I really enjoyed Red Cathedral but have had a harder time getting it to the table due to less interest by my gaming partners. I'm tempted by this expansion but wonder if it will help it get played more or not. Nice overview and review 👍
I've played one game solo of the base game so far and not sure if I had unexpected expectations but was not overly impressed. Definitely do not want to judge it off of one play, so I hope to get it to the table again. The problem was that it came in as part of my GameNerdz Nerdz Day Sale and the other games have been taking up my gaming time.

Good game. Surprised me how simple and fun it was

Haha I love Frankenstein boxes all the way! Did you fit everything in the one or did you have to leave something out?

@@george_castle Oh nice, good idea! I may end up doing the same at some point, but I also like it in the box so tough call!

First! The red cathedral is such a fun game! So much game in a tiny box
This looks great, thank you! Although it does not look as good as your chops....
Hey Algorithm, I feel like you should have told me about this guy but instead I had to hear about him from Rahdo. Do better Algorithm.
Haha, I've always said that Algorithm is a jerk, it's probably my fault!
Your review is invalid due to your 'chops. Sorry, Chris.
I mean you're not wrong!
