A lot of YT reviewers complain about the slow electric charging flap. They never mention that you can open the flap from the MMI when you park at the charger. Also, when your charging ends and you remove the cable, the charging flap closes itself. Also, some complain about that you not manually can preheat the battery, but have to navigate to a charger to preheat. According to Audi the ideal temperature to start charge is about 24 degrees centigrade, and you can see the battery temp when you put the car into dynamic mode. I think both issues are non issues. The charging flap is open before you get out of the car, and closes without the need to do something to it, and you can easily watch if the battery temperature is ok for charging or not. Im getting my new Q6 tech pro here in norway tommorow. Went for 19" (longest range possible, and even quiter), no sunroof and no massage seats, but "everything" else.
I agree, one more thing I would add that most of times when I'm going to charge my EV I'm opening charging port and then getting the cable which for Q6 flap is enough time to open.

Picked you up on something...you said the aircon is dual zone, but it's triple zone! Incidentally, if you go for the SQ6 there's also a red leather option for the seats. And here's another one...the USB ports by default charge at 15W but there's an option to upgrade them to 100W.

Mine will cost about €80k, after dealer discounts, and that includes quite a lot of options (on the basic vehicle with the rear wheel drive and the 306 horsepower motor - I'm not bothered about having massive amounts of power, that will be plenty). I really like the curved screen but indeed I'll have to see how it works in practice. I think it looks more elegant than the squared-off screens in the BMWs, though (although some aspects of their interiors are better than the Audis).
When mentioning range I’d like to know what is the worst I can expect, not the best. For instance range is particularly relevant at motorway speeds. I’d like to know what could I fairly expect when driving exclusively on motorway journeys in the middle of winter. Also on a SUV, I drive off road, so I’d like to know what it can do in these environments. Could it replace a Range Rover?

I suspect the blank panel is where the trim is recycled across models and normally has the lock/unlock button on it but is blanked out as its on the other panel below.
Great review. Good to see that there is a 12-volt outlet in the boot. I went to the launch event and I'm quite certain that it wasn't in the 2 models on display. I hope it's not an option as I didn't tick that box when I was configuring my Q6 Quattro which will arrive on 21 August.
I noticed the 12V outlet in the Q6 in my local showroom - it's rather discreetly tucked behind the net in the small luggage compartment in the boot, behind the right rear wheel, so it's very easy to miss. I have ordered a Q6 and it's not mentioned in the list of standard equipment, but it's also not specified in any of the packs. It's possible that it is part of the storage and luggage compartment pack (the pack with the frunk), but it's not specified in the description (I checked the German website which includes descriptions for a lot of options that are missing from the Audi websites in other countries).
I don't fully catch the Air Suspension part, seems that the non S models have a non-optional Air suspension, but on the S model, you can optionally get a dynamic air suspension ?
Great review. Appreciate the details regarding regenerative breaking. Did you establish if B mode is full one-pedal? Also, do you personally use regen paddles?
The blank is for a physical lock/unlock switch in other markets. One more thing to add, not directly about the Q6 - Audi is considering an early end of production of the Audi Q8 e-tron.
You mention the “vertical load on the rear” as maximum 100kg. Is that the “nose weight” on the tow bar? I have struggled to find that information from Audi.
Those looked like USB Type-C not USB Type-A in the front as mentioned in the review. Sorry to pick up on a correction. You did mention Type-C for the rear.

Thank you. The big news for me was that you seemed to say the software is now powered by Google/Android rather than Audi/VW’s in house awful software. If so that can only be an immense improvement. At c.€86k it can not possibly be worth the money especially as it will lose about 30% of its value as you walk out of the showroom with the keys. Such is the collapse in used EV values at the moment. I am sure there is some kind of use case for the Q6 but I find it hard to detect for something with soggy handling, huge weight, and just general dreariness.
Yes, Android based system which was great. The air suspension made it very comfortable. I wasn't really testing he sportiness until I take it on a longer drive
The software is based on Android Automotive but has VW's Cariad E3 1.2 layer on top of it. All the reviews have mentioned how good the UI is on the Q6.
@@SteveLionel Useful additional information. If the Cariad UI is effective on top of Android Auto then that works for me. They still need to fix the terrible capacitive buttons.
This is my dream car except for some dumb choices Audi has made. Making us choose between ventilated seats OR massaging seats… I mean? Some plastics in the interior look like 💩 while it’s got the same interior design as the new A5 and A6 etron which both look the same but better finished. I’ve been told that UK Q6’s won’t have air suspension, you need to upgrade to the SQ6. Likely Australia where I am will therefore be the same. Air suspension, cooled, heated and ventilated seats are literally my Wishlist so I need to give something up to have my dream car, when it doesn’t seem like it would have been hard for all of those options to be on the same vehicle
@@bneyarb5037 Quite agree. And they've deleted the cream coloured interior off the configurator. And you have to pay £500 for the frunk (half a grand for a hole! FFS Audi) And there is no silver or light grey on the colour palette. Very un-Audi. But yes, the most mind bending thing is the inability to have air unless you have the SQ6 - in a country (England) where the roads are shocking. Go figure...

Haven't driven the Macan yet but hopefully soon so I have no reference. On the same platform for sure but also a step up in price

iX3 is not a competitor to this I would say. Way less range and slower charging speeds.
The frunk, or front boot - it will be an absolute scandal if the frunk is an option in some luggage pack
