    Hello. I live in Korea. Although our diet has been westernized a lot here, WFPB is not a very familiar lifestyle yet. I have been suffering from overweight and a chronic disease for a long time. To change my lifestyle and get healthier, i have searched for tips for WFPB receipes. Then luckily, I found your channel. I love to see you use and test various ingredients. I am thankful for finding your channel and blog. THANK YOU very much for your help!

      First get away from the western or standard American diet. Traditional Asian cuisine is so much healthier and yet you gravitate to the terrible food Americans eat. WFPB diet is proven to be the healthiest. Many RUclips channels with great recipes

    Very efficient! Thank you, Chuck. I love the mason jar for the marinade and then the quick strain of the sauce.

    Ok, I lived in Indonesia for several years and love the tempeh sambal with rice. They usually fry it with oil. I’m excited to see this recipe. Tempeh is one of those items that’ll be absolutely as great as whatever recipe is used. Thanks for posting this.

    This is the best WFPB meal I've made!! And I've been doing recipes from Forks Over Knives and The Plant Based Cooking Show. Thanks so much.

    Thank you so much for this video, Chuck! I’ve never known how to cook the package of tempeh that sits in my fridge. Thanks for explaining about steaming or simmering it first. Can’t wait to make this awesome recipe!

    I LOVE tempeh! I have digestive issues and I can easily digest tempeh -- but not tofu. I never heard of "powdered peanut butter". I'll give this a try!

    I’ve made a dozen marinades for baked tempeh so I almost didn’t bother watching, but I’m sure glad I did! That hack for opening the tempeh package is genius! I always end of breaking the tempeh trying to get it out and I curse the companies for not figuring out how to package it differently.

    I recently saw a recipe for vegan ruben sandwiches. It used sautéed tempeh slices, saurkraut, shredded carrots, vegan cheese slice and vegan thousand island dressing. I want to try it.

    I love your checklist in the beginning of your video. Made for a quick laugh. I do like this style of video with you talking us through your recipe (you always have hints to add) and I like the page breaks with your graphic on “time to simmer” and “bake time one hour”. Your visual recipe cards work well too, but I will still look to the show notes or your blog to get the recipe that I can print and place in my kitchen. I like tempeh and I love the fact that you cook your marinade and eat it- no waste! Is there a health advantage for using the white basmati rice or is it just more visually appealing in recipe photo shoots? I tend to stick with long grain brown rice.

      No, brown rice is definitely more healthy, but my wife and grandson will not eat it! So I use white.

    YES! Exactly! I never knew how to explain it but there is a bitterness to it. And I always thought "geez if not for the bitterness it's great." I tried all sorts of spices and sauces but the bitter aftertaste never went away. Gonna try boiling it for ten min first next time. Thanks Chuck you are a lifesaver🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

    • @TKevinBlanc
      @TKevinBlanc 3 года назад +3

      I hope it works for you. I've tried it and still can't get past the bitterness. The tempeh texture is awesome as a non-processed meat substitute, cubed, or in strips, on a grain, or in a sammich.
      I'm going to keep trying.

      Yes thanks Chuck . I did try previously to boil it and then bake it but as the others here say it was so bitter . I really want to like it but both my husband and I just could not stomach it . Anybody that has a positive experience after an initial negative experience-I hope they post it on here. …Also, I’m still trying to stay away from oils otherwise I think it might taste good fried up ( like most things,) lol but not going to do that. Chuck I hope you’re doing OK…I miss your videos. Please take care.❤️🌻🌻🌻🥬

      I always boil my tempeh in water for 5 minutes in the skillet before cooking any recipe. That takes a lot of the bitterness away. Another vegan shared with me.
