  • Recently, one of my friends has an AWFUL day! It started with spilling coffee on herself in the car on the way to work.
    CRAP!
    And then it just got worse. My job was to cheer her up.
    How would you cheer someone up in English? What could you say if your friend had a terrible day? Or your colleague received bad news?

    okay. I've been said that "you got this, you'll be great!" so like, I try to keep saying like that. plus, my best
    sentence is that "you'll make sure it. I'll be with you" like this, encouraging someone is my pleasure for sure. so nice!

    Thank you. Lovely lesson! We all need at one point in our live friends that can cheer us ups. And to have good friends, one needs to be one. With this lesson you teach us that, to be a good friend by showing that we care with our words and actions.
    Here is something that I would say to my friend:
    I wish I can take your pain/problems away, but I’m here for you whenever you need to talk.
    You’re not alone, I’m a call away.
    Again thank you Annmarie, I will use this expression, should I come over tonight with ice cream, pizza, and a movie!

    I recently just said to my best friend when she got bad day and terrible situation : i am here to help. Then tears run on her face but after that she felt better.

    * One of my friend going through a family problem .But she didn't know how to get out of this situation that time I told her, " If you need some retail therapy, I'll go with you". And she loves shopping.
    * My Coworker has some issue on her office work that time "I'm here to help" don't worry , this sentence of mine feel her relaxed.
