Fits perfect and sounds great with or without the silencer if anyone is still wondering. It was also noticeably lighter than my old exhaust and it is very well made (welds, finishing, packaging etc). Looks like it would be much more than $200 IMO. No rattles, no leaks, gasket provided worked just fine. I am more than pleased with my purchase and still don't think there is a better, more affordable exhaust out there. Especially with the silencer removal giving you two different sound options. I'd suggest getting 3 new exhaust hanger bushings (under 20 bucks from auto parts store) to make life easier.
No fitment issues at all. The hangers, flange, and tip all line up perfectly. And it’s still holding up great. It sounds just as good as the beginning. It’s pretty durable too as now since I’m lowered, I scrape it almost every time I back out of my steep driveway. It’s only scratched up, that’s all.
@@BenDeliversPizza with it in drone wasn’t too bad but with it out is going to be awful for most people. Definitely overall more drone than a RoadsterSport or similar, even with the silencer in.
Does it backfire/ burble more without the silencer? I have a nb1 with the same Megan exhaust; had it about 3 months and love it. Too lazy to remove the silencer to see what its like but wouldn't mind some more pops and burbles... Thanks for the vid, not many out there of this exhaust; It's what got me to pull the trigger on buying it a while back.
I’ve been running it without the silencer for about 5 months now and I love it even more than before. It actually does pop and burble now. At first the sound seemed to be way too much and I could feel it in my chest but I’ve just gotten used to it at this point. I would remove it and see how you like it. Also every time you very lightly blip the gas when coasting, you’ll get a lot of pops and burbles from it. Does your NB1 have the precat? If it does it might not pop as much.
@@FDB77Thanks a bunch man! I was actually doing an oil change earlier and thought about removing it. Came back to the vid to listen and thought I'd ask first. I have the stock headers, with an aftermarket mid pipe/ cat, and Megan axle-back. I'll have to check to see if the pre cat is there as the previous owner had the mid pipe installed but left the stock headers and muffler. Or removed them before selling* Not sure. I was actually quite surprised at the amount of pop and burbles I was getting so there is a possibility it was removed. I'll check when I remove the silencer and maybe I'm in for a treat of even more good sounds. Thank you for the insight
@@jrh1704 you’ll be able to see if you have a precat by looking under the hood. It’s located on the manifold before the exhaust goes underneath the car. You’ll see a big metal canister if your car has it.
@@FDB77 I have the pre cat, and I took the silencer off today. It sounds really good but does get a bit droney at highway speeds. I've got the 4:30 rear so 65 highway I'm at about 4k. Are you running the stock midpipe or an aftermarket midpipe? I recently bought a megan racing exhaust and noticed that the phalange of the exhaust was bigger.
Anyone know if this Would this fit an automatic? I heard that the flange at the mid pipe is different between the manual transmission and the automatic
I’m loving it! It still sounds great, especially at WOT. Some of my passengers have complained about the drone but I honestly don’t find it that bad with the silencer in. I guess it just depends on how sensitive your ears are. But if you take the silencer out, oh boi your ears will never forgive you, I’ll say that.

great video and you being active on the comments solved a lot of questions for me. thanks!
You’re welcome!
For anyone wondering I have this exhaust myself. 100% worth the 200 dollars.
Are u running it without any cats?
Thanks for the video.purchased after watching your video.
Video doesn't do justice.
Just installed it happy as can be!
Had to put silencer back to quiet it down a bit
Was there any fitment issues or was it simply bolted right up? and how has it held up so far?

FDB7 nice, im considering purchasing it for my 03
@@damonjones8121 I think you should. For the price it’s definitely worth it.
@@damonjones8121 I’d love to get it for my 03 but I’m at 270k and need a fresh rebuild
How is the drone with vs without the silencer? Would love the option to have no drone, my GF hates loud exhausts haha

Stock midpipe. Mine fit up perfectly.
Is the cat and middle muffler still on?
Yup. Stock headers, cat, and midpipe. This is only the axle back.
Anyone know if this Would this fit an automatic? I heard that the flange at the mid pipe is different between the manual transmission and the automatic
I just looked it up for you and no unfortunately it doesn’t seem like it would work in an auto.
is it legal without the silencer
In CA no it’s too loud but I haven’t been bothered for it yet.
Did you have to get rid of the rear frame brace?
Do you mean the one under the diff? No it’s still there. The axle back doesn’t even go there.
@@FDB77 ok thx

The car or the exhaust?
@@FDB77 sorry the exhaust xD
@@emjayyy0 It’s just called a Megan Racing axle back exhaust. I got mine from eBay.
Do you have a cold air on your Miata right now?
Yup. It’s a diy intake I made for 50 bucks.
You can see it here: instagram.com/p/CPRxRIeHzl_/?
Does anyone know if this exhaust fits with x force headers ?
As long as the midpipe ends up at the stock location it’ll work.
How’s the drone?
Not pleasant with the silencer out. You’ll really feel it the first few minutes but I’m used to it now.
Have you gotten pulled over for how loud it is?
Not yet lol
It’s not that loud tho
Is this with stock intake?
No this is with a diy intake
The insight in economy mode sounds louder than this😑
Oh yeah fs that things a beast
It’s the perfect sound, nothing too obnoxious but still clean

Is it that loud? Mine just delivered and this makes me nervous
Are the holes from the silencer noticeable?
They’re there but I haven’t really noticed them at all.
