She plays many instruments, sings many styles, writes beautiful deep and metaphoric lyrics in English and Faroese and her voice- indescribably beautiful and uniquely Eivor👍
Thank you, Susan, I very much enjoyed your reaction to Eivør here. Yes, I must admit I was a bit confused when you and the Wolfman reacted to her 2018 performance of The Last Kingdom, yesterday, I believe it was. Never mind though, for that was an excellent choice as well, because, in all honesty, one really can't go wrong with this captivating artist. I'm delighted that you're enjoying her music so much. To me it feels very atmospheric and transcending, otherworldly even. Eivør, is a Faroese singer-songwriter and actress, but I told you that already in my email to you. You asked what other instruments she plays, well, as far as I know she only plays the guitar and a hand held native style drum, but, hey, that's two instruments more than I'm able to play, haha. Another and more recent song of hers would be Gullspunnin off her 2020 album Segl. Here's a link to a live performance at Nordic House, Faroe Islands in Sep 2020: ruclips.net/video/_1pAKeTjgLE/видео.html I'm not sure how you've managed to improve your sound level so much compared to yesterday, but it's now way better than it's been even before yesterday, so, congrats on that! Please, tell the Wolfman to get better, asap! Loved how fascinated Buster seemed at times, watching Eivør together with you. Stay safe, healthy, and fabulous. ❤🎸😎
aurora is a good singer, but eivor is a whole different league - she outshines her effortlessly in every aspect. eivors voice is absolute divine and also her band and the sound engineers are top. whatever you choose, be it a studio, live or album version you will hear nothing but perfection.
Aurora is an excellent artist and her live performances are something to see, that's for sure. But as you said, Eivør is a different league. I love to go to see gigs from many artists, some are famous, others a little bit less. Over 200+ artists that a was pleased to watch live, Eivør is the one that impressed me the most, even more than Nightwish & Floor. The only other artists that left me with the same impression of perfection is Susanne Sundfør. The quality of her singing is out of this world
@@volta008 yes, susanne sundfør is absolute fantastic. the good thing with music is than we can have it all! i used to be a huge björk fan - and i still am - but as you said, eivør is such an impressive and whilesome artist that she kicked björk off her throne! have you already listened to susannes new album, how do you like it?
@@soleywolfgangsdottir Bjōrk is my favorite artist too since her Debut album as I had the incredible privilege to be at her concert with strings orchestra in Reykjavik. Unforgettable experience. But still I prefer Eivør concerts over this one. Of course, have listened to Susanne Sundfør's new album many times. I like it but still need to process some songs. Maybe the very first song that I don't like in her whole catalogue is here (Runa), but I already fell in love with that song sung/spoken in German. I also listen to Anna Von Hausswolff, but only in small doses. I need to be in the right mood and then I can listen 1 or 2 songs and that's enough. Some kind of love/hate relation with her music even though I consider her as a great artist. You might also like Lisa Morgenstern, a German/Bulgarian artist. I suggest this performance : Lisa Morgenstern feat. Münchner Rundfunkorchester - Deflowering + Levitation (live PULS Festival)
@@volta008 i see it in your name! i have seen björk a couple of times in iceland, norway and germany. excellent shows, i have also seen her orchestral shows in reykjavík. funny side fact, i have seen her naked in a public shower of a pool and i bumped into her on a sóley-concert and our jackets got stuck for a few moments. but i don't loke her last two records. i have the same problem to get into new albums. when it kicks in, it's mostly eternal love. thanks for the reccomendation, ill checkbit out!
Eivør has been dubbed ‘The Nordic Kate Bush’, who she cites as a main influence. Others have described her singing in this song as a cross between Kate and Aurora.
Going to have to keep exploring her and her music. Have very much enjoyed what I’ve heard. Relaxing to listen to this one at the moment pretending I can sleep. Appears to of been relaxing for buster too. Your reaction to this and the song just great. Thank you. 🙏🙏🙏
Mike!! Great suggestion! I found myself, at first, comparing her voice to Aurora, but as the song went on...she's not as "gimmicky"...and I don't mean that negatively...Aurora just has a specific sound, and doesn't stray from it. This was lovely!
Hey Amy! Good to see you here, even if it's only in writing. Don't worry about replying to my email, I'm a patient guy, and I understand your reasons for the delay. It's all good. I saw your comment on the Douwe Bob & Anouk video that Susan reacted to, and I'm praying for you as well. Aurora, yes, she's Norwegian, while Eivør hails from the Faroe Islands. They're not that far apart but, still. I like Aurora's sound too, but I think it's quite different from Eivør's, say, more akin to what Björk sounds like. Eivør once said in an interview that she learned a trick, to get a specific sound that she uses, from Tanya Tagaq, who's a Canadian Inuk throat singer, songwriter, novelist, and visual artist from Cambridge Bay, Nunavut, Canada, on the south coast of Victoria Island. I figured you might find that an interesting little fact about her. I discovered her in January of last year and was immediately spellbound by her music and ethereal sound. I'm very much drawn to it, as it has this comforting and almost psychedelic quality to it. I'm so glad you like her sound as well. Get well soon and write me back whenever you're able to. ❤🙏
Eivør is far more versatile than Aurora. The novelty of Aurora’s singing style is starting to wear a bit thin for me but she does still have a beautiful voice.
Great reaction. The instrument you saw her play on the Last Kingdom theme live at The Hammersmith Apollo was a form of shamanic drum, which she often plays with her songs during live performances. For another great voice playing a drum while singing from the Nordic countries please try the Aldous Huxley inspired ‘Brave New World (Live at Kulturkirken Jakob)’ by Norwegian band Kalandra. Katrine Stenbekk has a stunningly beautiful voice. ruclips.net/video/C3YC1FGLxUw/видео.html

My favorite song from her and thats live.
Eivor is pure magic, her and Kate Bush are hands down my favorites.
That was a remarkable performance. Thank you!👍❤️

Very enjoyable, I must say that she can scream at me anytime, she likes! 🤣🤣. ❤️🤘🎸🎻🇦🇺
Perhaps you underestimate the limits of her voice. Many years ago she appeared among the others on a documentary DVD called "Screaming Masterpiece" :)
