All these movies are adding the threads that will take you to the last two Avenger flicks, with a couple of others between the Avengers. It really is amazing how they weaved all these movies together into one massive story line, you have no idea where this ride eventually leads. Enjoy!
I think much of the success of the MCU is the fact that each group of films (Cap, Iron Man, Thor, Ant Man, Guardians, etc.) had their own distinct personality. Not just the main character, but the pace of the film, the extras, the humor and so on. The way they managed to pull all those separate personalities into the 'combo' films like Avengers was impressive. Can't wait to see your reaction to Captain America: Civil War!
There was a meme going around early 2020 where Luis was describing everything that had happened in the year up to that point to Scott. It captured his energy and storytelling style perfectly
The man whose car that Scott fell on was Garrett Morris who was the first person to play Ant-Man in live action. He did on Saturday Night Live in a superhero parody in the 70s. Luis was played by the great Michael Pena who is as great at drama as he is at comedy. Corey Stoll who played Darren Cross was also in a television series called The Strain that you might want to check out. It's about a vampire apocalypse.
This movie was one wild ride. Loved the way it was made. Laughs from start to finish. Such a creative piece. Paul Rudd's humor is perfect for the Marvel Universe.

Ant-Man is designed to be fun, and it delivers. It is, however, the most inconsistent superhero power in the MCU, I think. The theory is that the atoms compress so he retains mass but because his movements are concentrated in a small space he can appear to have superhuman strength. That’s how he can judo flip a guy even when he’s tiny. But that would mean scenes like the first time he shrinks, which acknowledges the setup by having him crack the floor tiles when he hits the floor, also has him washed away by water in the tub, or even has him holding onto the groove of a spinning record. If his real mass was attached to that groove it’d flip the player or some similar thing. Additionally, if he gets really big, it’d have the opposite effect. He’d basically be like a balloon, with huge surface area compared to mass. We’re obviously not supposed to worry about this, but it happens time and again in the movies. I can’t spoil them here, but he’s often interacting with others in his tiny form where it couldn’t happen. How can Antony carry his weight? How can Hank carry a tank around on his key ring? Or a building?
You guys are so genuine and fun to watch 😊 Next is Captain America Civil War. I can’t wait to watch. Keep as many scenes as you can please on the cut down version.

While I had seen Spider-Man and the Superfriends in animated form, Ant-Man was my first official comic book superhero.... and so I was one of the few people who was INCREDIBLY excited for this film! Ant-Man was great, but I'm still vexed by the plot hole in the Quantum Realm. Scott switching discs in his regulator was such a simple solution, but Hank never thought of it? That was a bit weak. But everything else was really good. The chemistry between Scott and Hope and Hank was excellent. Outstanding visuals.
Hank might not have developed the disk technology at that time (He even says that he made them for Scott), and he certainly wasn't willing to mess with the regulator as is made clear in the movie. Hank also outright says that he tried to bury the technology, as opposed to trying to develop it further. It absolutely isn't a plot hole.
I grew up with the original Ant Man being an important part of the Avengers. I did rather worry that this movie would be a huge dud, but they took the silly nature of the story and just ran with it. Great movie in the end.
One great thing about this movie, is that neither Paxton, nor Maggie (Cassie's mom), are shown to be bad people. It's well and truly over between Scott and Maggie, and they're both OK with that. But all three of them care about Cassie and are trying to do what they see as best for her, even if they don't really understand where each other is coming from. It's a refreshing take after too many movies where one ex-spouse is shown to be bad just to make the other look good.
When I first saw this one, I didnt realise how much this reminded me of the 50s film - THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING MAN. About how a man passing through a mysterious mist at sea begins to shrink (one of many of the Atomic bomb films from that era including - THEM & DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL & others) interesting the sfx arent really that much better, (except for the CGI Ants) this was one of those ones that seemed like a step too far, silly even, BUT AGAIN I was surprised, I think its what theyve done with the concept that is it's advantage, the idea of recruiting a thief, for an under cover almost CIA type mission, who is shrunk, works well together with a cynical sense of humour. Reminding me a bit of how ROBOCOP used the concept of a cyborg, in a much more interesting way, than in THE 6 MILLION DOLLAR, spy MAN
I don’t do well with insects… so not my personal favorite. I love that final battle with the train and all that though, very comedic and great visuals.

It was Edgar Wright, of Shaun of the Dead fame, who brought the idea to Marvel in the beginning on how to adapt Ant-man to the big screen. I believe it was his idea to have it be a passing of the torch from one Ant-man to another. Marvel wasn't quite sure if audiences would accept such a crazy concept for a superhero movie so they played it safe and started their MCU with less risky characters like Iron Man and the gang. I really would have liked to have seen Wright's movie but it ultimately became an MCU interconnected film & was no longer "his baby" & so Edgar Wright left the project.
Edgar Wright was just one of a long list. Disney interference drove many talented Screenwriters / Directors / Production Teams away. All were replaced over time by activists and the overall quality of the MCU continued to degrade. It is obvious to old school Marvel fans the most because they have a deeper understanding of the Stan Lee spirit of story telling.
@@dunringill1747 What a bunch of bullshit. Deeper understanding my ass. This is just you whining about Marvel "going woke" when it was always woke. You're just too media illiterate to realize that. That is what has always been obvious to old school Marvel fans.
I see quite some people in the comments saying that eventually the movies fall off. But I am here to say that I basically like all phase 4 movies (not all series though). And that you're opinions shouldn't be swayed by their comments and go into all future movies without any bias you've heard. See how you like it for yourself, just like you did from the start.
Hank Pym first appeared in Tales to Astonish #27 (September, 1961) but didn't appear as Antman until Tales to Astonish #35 (June, 1962) which introduced him as Antman. The Marvel Earth-616 comic's took place usually when the comic's were released so these stories all took place in the 1960 so what you're seeing in the MCU is a modern rendition of these characters similar to their Ultimate universe counterparts. Hank first appeared in the Ultimate universe in Ultimate Spider-Man #14 (2001) but then appeared as Antman and Giant Man in The Ultimate's first comic with a modern rendition of his suit and changes to his origins bring him closer to Shield as he was chosen to work on the "Super Soldier Project" for S.H.I.E.L.D. under Nick Fury. Both Hank and Janet, Wasp were Agents for S.H.I.E.L.D. The Ultimate's were formed this universes version of the Avengers with Hank, Giant Man and Wasp being key members along with Captain America and Iron Man etc. The Ultimate's are much more militant though heavily connected to the U.S Government compared to the Avengers. Moving back to the MCU he's one of the few MCU hero's who has been active since as early as the 1960s so he's kind of closer to his Earth-616 counterpart in that he became Ant Man in this period of time rather than his origin story being set in the 2000s like we see with Tony Stark, Bruce Banner, Spider-Man etc. Not sure how that works tbh in some universes we are born early while others we are born later lol maybe there's a universe where I was born in 1970 and grew up in the 1980s instead of the 2000s. But yeah i would love to see more of Hank's character in the role of Ant man. Scott Lang is the 2nd Ant Man he was introduced a decade later in Avengers #181 (December, 1978) as Scott and the Marvel Premiere #47 (January, 1979) as Ant Man. The reason why Scott was chosen to be the Ant Man of the MCU was because of the films writer Edgar Wright, who only ever wanted to make a Scott Lang movie. He grew up reading Scott Lang era Ant-man comics, and idolised him far more than Henry Pym. They pretty much got Lang's story spot on from the comic's he turned his talents to burglary. Apprehended, he served his prison sentence and was paroled for good behaviour. Overall i'm a little set that we never got to see Hank in this prime, seeing those Cold War clips of Hank as Hankman looked so cool.

Hi Rob. I asked Trin this a couple of weeks ago, and now I'm curious as to what you do for a living? If you don't mind me asking. I know it's a somewhat pedestrian question, but it's always interesting to find out how people spend their time after I've seen a little of their personality.
Cant wait til u guys watch Civil War

Welcome aboard! and thank you for the support!
@@robtrinreact2825 you know?... It is just that I find your reactions and analysis very real... I do not like watching people overreacting and making a show of themselves. But a real reaction is priceless. Guys. Stay safe. Be well... kudos...? is that the word?
Are u guys gonna react to the hunger games at some point?
Stay tuned 😉
@@robtrinreact2825 loving Ur marvel and TWD reactions tho
@@dubsonly Thank you 💕
LOL, Ant-Man’s so “small,” he’s the only MCU reaction to get only 1 video.
Was one video because Rob already seen this one :) even tho he wasn't aware it was part of MCU back in the days :)
RIP Ant-ony🪦 (Not Anthony, Trin)😂
Also, Luis really made this movie for me😂
~Trin, when editing the movie, I was like "why why did I change his name 😒🙈"
Oh wow that was lucky that Scott managed to defeat Darren and his suit! He was basically a Mobile organism designed only for K-pop
Paul Rudd knows how to choose his girlfriends: Phoebe, Hope. 😁
Ant-Man is a fun movie. And its superb shrinking special effects. But still not to the point of getting into myrmecology. I have a friend who is phobic of these little critters, he wouldn't come anymore. 🤣
YES!!!!!
❤️❤️❤️
was this a different editor?
No why?
@@robtrinreact2825 it flowed different it seemed like is all.
@@nomchompsky2883 We just wanted this one as a one part reaction so yeah it's probably different flow when it's shorter edit.
