I saw Yann Tiersen last night in San Francisco. What I realize sometimes happens is that we who come to love particular pieces we want to hear them in person too, and many artists never leave their hits, but a true artist moves on...and we who see them in person need to remain always open minded. His final piece of the evening was one from Amelie, but played very differently at first, so that it's melody snuck up on me, and then there it was. Fantastic performance!
This version it's everything 🥰 I usually listen to music on Spotify nowadays, but was looking for this version and couldn't find it, had to return here and it's completely worth it 😊

But hey, that's just the album version, check out this heavenly music on youtube :D This live version is probably the one I could get killed while listening and wouldn't even realize it :D
no this is yann tiersen and his band "Monochrome" and they paly every song in a different version, so even if you know all of yann tiersens songs from the cd, you will hear something new
at least 7 on a very high level i play piano nd violin and have for years his technique is light years ahead of mine also mom plays accord. and has commented his technique is apparently flawless there as well i imagine he can play many more than he does in his shows.
@k9596 It's the Ondes Martenot (or Martenot's Wave).It can play by its keyboard, but also continuusly, by moving a ring on a string under the keyboard. The keyboard can also do vibrato, as the keys can move left and right a little.
...anyway, what I'm trying to say is that he started with this kind of piece, and as I adjusted my expectations, well...I remain a faithful follower of his talent. The theatre was a 200+ capacity venue, so every seat was great.
