I'm 32 and for the first time in YEARS I'm actually excited and looking forward to something, buying a bike thanks to this channel 😅 binged all the videos, definately deserves all the subs and more
Ditto, i am also in my 30’s and buying my 1st bike and i have convinced several of my work mates to do so. Enduro is my new hobbie to be 👌 good videos mate inspiring i guess
ya i rode trails/street in my teenage years on quads and dirtbikes, but after like a decade 32 years old went out and got a used drz400 and damn am i having a great time back in the woods. Going to sharpen the toolkit on that thing for a couple years then go get me a nice 300 2t
At 42 years of age after watching MidWest MX among many other Enduro channels I got myself a 2014 KTM 300EXC .I’m no Billy Bolt but slowly and surely I’m improving week by week just wanted to say cheers for letting us know you don’t have to be good to enjoy the happiness and de-stressing doing Enduro on a KTM (or any model of your choice) can bring cheers lads 👍💯
Makes such a massive difference getting proper suspension. I upgraded to Tractive closed cartridge on my T7 and the difference was HUGE. Would highly recommend to anyone. Congrats on the upgrade
I’ve had four WR450’s with KYB suspension. Stiff and harsh. It’s fine for motocross but the reality is that unless you’re Cody Webb or Ken Roczen it’s way too stiff for enduro or woods riding. I removed one spring from one fork and ran it as an air fork. Just tapped some threads into the fork cap and voila! Easy to adjust the ride. While all my friends complain about arm pump I’m just fine. A good thing as I’m 63 and my riding buddies are all in their thirtys. The manufacturers ALL have their suspension set up for more or less fast moto style riding. The Beta x trainer was, I think the first bike where a manufacturer took a leap of faith and designed their suspension specifically for woods riding. And we all know how big a hit that bike was. Cheers from north eastern Ontario Canada.
The moment i put in proper suspension on a 1250 Bandit the difference was clear in a way I didnt expect: Having the suspension do its job properly means that a lot of the chatter/ pogo stick behavior disappeared, letting you focus more on line selection and the other aspects of riding instead of having your senses inundated by all of the inputs the suspension can't deal with.
Tell ya what man, I’m far from pro material, but I bought my 500exc off a buddy that had just sent the suspension off to Race Tech, and I would have never spent what he had to have it done. HOWEVER, after owning and riding a bike now with tricked suspension, I get it. Makes you way better than you typically are 😂
When you said, "I'm a novice rider and I don't know if I'll be able to tell a difference," I was thinking, "Man, he's in for a surprise!" So many people don't understand how much properly tuned suspension changes the way the bike feels. Funny enough, I just had mine rebuilt, because it was time. Took my first ride with it last weekend. It amazes me how much suspension can degrade and we don't notice. I had to adjust my riding because the bike is back to being smooth and responsive. The bike feels brand new and handles so much better! It's money, because I don't have the proper tools for suspension, and I hate dealing with the mess, but it's worth every penny! Have fun!
I don't understand why manufacturers don't put quality suspension in from the beginning. Why is aftermarket always better? I understand there's a cost issue, but why not at least offer a premium model with the best parts available fitted
Congrats on your suspension, anytime it feels better is VERY good! I've bought suspension upgrades that I felt was only a little better, than another shop did it SO right( I have a go to shop now). Glad you scored a HUGE win! Big thanks for sharing your video's.
If you can, call RaceTech and see what they recommend for your weight. I'm not where a ride or drive in is possible, so my local guy does my suspension. My friends that live east take their bikes to shops that specialize in Penske, Race Tech or Traxxion Dynamics. My KTM has RaceTech front and rear and my FJR has RaceTech up front and a Wilbers in the rear. The initial purchase is stupid expensive, but it's worth the money!
Hey brother, been missing your videos, been in prison so sorry I wasnt commenting was thinking about you alot in there haha have loads of time to think, love that the channel has grown absolutely awesome keep it up
Good suspension makes a huge difference no matter if your a novice rider or an expert. You can be a total newbie and still hard on your forks.. So glad you can feel the difference. 👍 Bottom line = Air forks suck, the Austrians are just mugging people off selling bikes with them fitted as standard. 😆
Got to wonder why KTM after so many years of putting out new models, still can get their WP forks dialed in. Considering what one pays for them. Great vid btw
Suspension can make riding so much less fatiguing on you as well as make your riding better like you found out haha its one of the first things I do to a new bike haha😊
Most would never know.. or out ride their suspension.. i personally like a firm feel and still get to bottom both ends when riding hard.. ridden soft and to me it feels like a marsh mellow.. 😂😂
How could you wait so long!! The most important thing for every rider if you want to get your full potential out of a bike 😄 btw, next time buy a KYB kit to the forks. Wp kind of sucks 🤗
@@lowballin8940 of u say so. Driven with both suspension? The bladder fork is ok their x plor is ok but that its from wp. Now compare the cost of that to kyb. Even really good riders manage with the triple s forks from KYB. So how come that every rider needs to rebuild wp suspension but never kybs to get performance out of them ?
@@Freklund needed to rebuild my KYB on my Yamaha and sherco. My WP works amazing in stock form. But will be rebuilding them anyway. All I’m saying is KYB is not at godly as you make it sound
@@lowballin8940 what did you rebuild it with ?? Changing springs and shims are not rebuild. But changing to bladder in a wp fork thats a complete rebuild. And some pro riders rides KYB sss forks for example. What pro have their 4 cs on the bike ? There you have some real proof of whats really good and price worthy and whats not. If you want a WP fork with the same performance its going to cost you. Thats all i'm saying sonif i would convert or rebuild a wp again im installing a KYB insert.
I have the ktech spring conversion on my 23 ktm and it's so much better than the stock stuff. Doesn't beat me up and tire me out as much. Much better feel and traction in turns. I really wish ktm would just give up on the air forks already they're awful but I dont see that happening with all the money they have invested in it. Love ktm but having to spend $1,500 to have properly working suspension is kinda ridiculous.
So what's the full price after all those changes. In Australia the bikes about $18 000+ So $22-$24 000. If I brought a new bike and had to spend money on it for the TPI to ran properly. Thats just ridiculous. I would have sold it. KTM don't care about there customers. My next bike would be SHERCO OR BETA.
Just awesome video mate I have been watching videos on how to pivot wheelie and yeah ut looks easy but I'm just too scared I think but yes as always u make me wanna just ride and ride and ride
Oh definitely mate any day on a bike is always fun, u have given me more confidence in my riding without a dought, I just wish I had the confidence to wheelie,
I bet K tech phone hasn't stopped ringing and I will be on the phone for a chat . I own a 2004 ktm exc which has never been any good on the suspension , the front end has no feel and feels like it's not attached to the rest of the bike .
That's how mine felt. I was not confident with my front end at all. It's a totally different bike now. I should never have waited this long if I'm honest
Thanks for reply bud and I am going to get them done . I come from x country mountain bike racing and when you can find that grip level and feel it through the bars that does boost confidence levels . I have never been able to find that on my KTM plus it never wants to turn in .
@@chrisbutlersmith9970 I had the same problem with turning. Always understeered. But not now. Both forks work together instead of against each other. It’s a different world. Love it
