- The biggest search in 50 years for the Loch Ness Monster has been taking place in the Scottish Highlands.
A hundred volunteers helped record any natural or unusual sights on Loch Ness from points on land.
Stories of a monster have existed for centuries but it is 90 years since the modern myth of Nessie began.
Observers on a boat using acoustic equipment claim they heard four unidentified "gloops" but realised their recording device wasn't plugged in.
Mike Graham is joined by Sunday Times columnist Charlotte Ivers and member of Nessiland Mark Thewlis, who were at Loch Ness this weekend, to discuss their findings.

My grandfather caused more false sightings of the Loch Ness monster than probably any other individual. It was what he did when travelling through the loch in the steam powered fishing boat on which he was an engineer.
I always thought this was, a hoax or a plot to attract tourists but l read a book in a hotel on the loch which had stories about people who had seen something, credible people like doctors and policemen not usually known for telling tall stories. One guy was fishing in a rowing boat some years ago in a neighbouring sea loch when his boat was overturned by a huge creature throwing him in the water. He saw a huge head of the thing disappear into the loch as he surfaced. The sea loch in this case was found to be very deep like Loch Ness.
What is the lifespan of a dinosaur? There would have to be at least a breading pair if they expect Nessie to still be sighted, surely?
Most people haven't heard of what else is allegedly going on around the loch. It's like a grab bag of the supernatural: UFOs, men in black, ghosts, fairies, you name it. So either it's some sort of doorway to another dimension, or a lot of people getting excited about nothing very much.
Maybe wormholes exist.
It's an overgrown sticky snail. About forty feet long a head, long neck four flippers large hump and can move it's body to lots of positions.
Right and I once shook hands with someone who knew someone who met the Queen...
The beast of Bodmin Moor needs a new litter tray
What has that man got stuck on his chin? Nessieland? These shenanigans keep the tourists flocking there.
Graham believes in the Loch Ness monster but scoffs at the idea of the great replacement despite the
census data!
Okay, it was me!!! I admit it - I LEANED BACKWARDS OVER THE EDGE OF THE BOAT AND FARTED!!!!
Facts by how to hunt - one v the best channels on here .🙃
Mike seeing as you are a Scot's man i thought that would have cashed in on Nessie.I presume that you have heard of Mock Turtle soup ,so as i was in cafe in Drumnadrochic i saw a sign for soup of the day, hoping it had mock ness soup on the menue, they didn't 😢😢
But not one photo, wonder why
It's all hocus-pocus but generates a lot of tourism money. 😂
The town is called Drumnadrochit not Lochness 😏
yeah right i saw e t last night lol
Many big reptiles can feed then go months without, eg a crocodile 🐊. So, does it come in to feed on salmon runs? Then go back out to see? As they may migrate.
🤣🤣🤣🤣greetings from Inverness 👋🏴
I say lets drain the loch and we will inownince and for all whats in it 😂 👍😁
Nessy must be very very old by now, hundreds years of age, or maybe there is a family of them lurking at the bottom of the Loch 🤔🤔🤔🥸🥸🧐🧐
Maybe he died and it's the ghost of Nessy haunting the loch
Yep, it's possible, and makes it more intriguing. 👾👾👾😱😱👾👾👾👻👻👻
Yesh yesh, i'm schottish too, hisn't shat weird.
Theres no monster. But a big some whatever maybe. But let the story go on, keep it this way.
We don't know everything about the lochs and seas. Today there was reports of a shark 500 years old discovered its been around before the united states as we know it. So when they say the monster in loch ness first seen in modern time in 1934 can not be the same one, oh yes it can.
The Loch NETH monster.l
It will be the sound of Talk TV fan's knuckles dragging along the pavement.

R u seriously reporting this as news!?……thought you were a proper channel, not a joke
Of course the Lough Ness monster is real, sure if I didn't see him with my own ears
Unknown noises apparently... what else would you expect to hear on a boat full of people who ate Scotch pies the night before.
Infra red technology... that's very insulting, I know they're Scottish, but even they know water dissipates heat very effectively.
Frank Searle believed it. Nationwide BBC news 70s
I believe there's creature's out there that we no nothing about.
Are there Mermaids?
Who's to say through our evolution a branch lived by and in the sea catching food and evolved into Mermaids?
Who's to say a branch of human evolution lived in caves and only came out at night? They would evolve through evolution to live and survive in darkness.
Ive heard people saying they have seen nessie but not men in black or fairies or ghosts, this sounds fishy have you met these people that have seen ghosts, men in black or fairies.
Ithhhh a lisp, lol
