    There is a fine line between the Happy Happy Helloween goofiness and the more serious note of the song. I think Kiske straddles that line perfectly in this vid. He hams it up during the breakdown, lets off when Weikath does his quiet solo, and then goes really serious when the emotional arc of the song finishes out. Great example of the perfect Helloween frontman!

    Weikath: You have written a masterpiece!
    Helloween has to rehire Kiske, Andi has done a great job, but he´s starting to lack, both on the voice, and on his hair (o´he cant pull of been bald). I know that Kiske was kind of a dick in the period before he was fired, Helloween needs him, and i think he need Helloween too.
    They should also try to get Kai back, him and Weikath write some killer-songs back in the days :)

      Helloween never be the same ...
      Hansen was the spirit of helloween
      Kiske was the voice of helloween
      Ingo was the power of Helloween
      If any of these disappears and nothing will be the same :(

    • @MichaelHolmgaard
      @MichaelHolmgaard 9 лет назад +4

      Young Marcos Alfaro Well, Weikath was just as much the spirit as Hansen was. If it wasn´t for Weikath, Helloween would be history today. Kiske became and egocentric prick, and he wanted to make pop-music. Helloween lacked in sales and support from their fans, so Weikath sacked him, and then they got bigger than ever.

    • @7dayspking
      @7dayspking 9 лет назад

      Mickey Holm You're clearly clueless actually haha, I bet you're one of those sorts who blame Kiske for their albums after the Keepers...even though he wrote the same amount of material on each as he did his first two albums (and Weikath still wrote the majority of Pink bubbles go ape and chameleon.)
      You have to see things from two perspective....and meet in the middle, not just take one mans word for it. According to Kiske he LOVED being in Helloween until 89 when Kai Hansen left, he liked the music they made until that point as well. (He apparently worshiped Iron Maiden before joining the band...apparently had Eddie posters all over his room, he apparently threw away all of his metal stuff when he left Helloween...Either way he apparently didn't like Thrash as he thought it was 'dark' and 'negative'...which is why he didn't originally want to joint he band.....because of their more aggressive sound. You may have noticed that their material on the Keepers was SIGNIFICANTLY more Iron Maiden influence than their previous stuff.)
      According to Kiske...Hansen sort of just miraculously left almost without warning...but he actually blames Weikath for that. He suggests that Weikath had been slowly pushing them away since 88.......and then when Kai left...well Weikath (according to Kiske.) took hold of the band basically completely, he was also very harsh on Ingo......apparently the manor in which he threw him out of the band was so harsh that Kiske actually blames Weikath for Ingo killing himself (although that's not really fair in my opinion....it's a fucking tragedy but Weikath didn't exactly tie the Noose.)
      Kiske suggests that how Weikath dealt with Ingo as well as the band's musical directions are why he left. (and was later fired.) In kiske's words...he was ANGRY with heavy metal for a long time which is why he apparently did whatever he could to get away from it, he also for a long time held resentment even for Kai Hansen........but NOW has come back to making metal music as well as letting go of his resentment...even working with Kai (Although he has made immense with kai...he suggested that Kai will be judged for his actions, whatever that means......I guess he blames Kai for leaving.)
      He Suggested that it was unlikely he would ever work with Weikath again...but not impossible, he also believes that Kai probably wouldn't work with Weikath again (although I'm sure they already did?)
      Either way, Kiske according to HIM loved being in Helloween between 1987-89....So you can't really blame him for their newer musical direction. WHO LEFT THE BAND JUST BEFORE THE MUSIC CHANGED!!?!?!??!!? Kai Hansen, which basically proves that Kai was ultimately what made Helloween sound like Helloween.......WHICH IS WHY after he left and formed Gamma Ray,...THAT SOUND CONTINUED, where as Helloween still don't sound anything like they used to.

    • @MichaelHolmgaard
      @MichaelHolmgaard 9 лет назад +1

      7dayspking
      Trust me, i have done my research on this.
      Yes, Kiske loved been in Helloween until 89. But Kiske only joined Helloween, because Weikath promised him to write more melodic songs, because Kai´s stuff was a bit too rough.
      Due to illness, Weikath couldn´t contribute much to Keeper 1, so him and Kai decided, that Kai would master Keeper 1, and Weikath could then master Keeper 2.
      So they start to work on Keeper 2, and though both Kai and Weikath compose songs to it, Weikath is the one arranging it, and has the last call. Kiske came to him with a couple of songs, but they were not meta enough. But Weikath accepted the songs, but on one condition: Weikath would rearrange them, so that they would fit more into the Helloween-style. Kiske, of course, didn´t like that, but accepted non the less. That way, the songs "We Got The Right" and "You Always Walk Alone" made it on the album.
      The whole "feud" between Weikath and Kiske started there.
      True, Kai left the band without warning. But that wasn´t because of Weikath, it was simply because Helloween had become too big for him. As Weikath said "Kai always had a more punk´ish feeling regarding the band, and the whole media-explosion that happened around Helloween, was not something he was interested in -so he leaves the band.
      When Kai left, 50% of the bands leadership left with him. Now there was only Weikath, and he never had Kai leaving in the calculations for the bands future. But they got into a big feud with Noise records on 1990, which meant that they had to be on break for two years. During those two years, Kiske envisioned a new Helloween, with HIM as the leader and main-composer. Kiske saw the opportunity to gain influence through Kai´s departure. Weikath, on the other hand, was on an emotional roller coaster. He was mad at Kai for leaving the band, and therefor also leaving him alone with all the whole responsibility of the band + he had to deal with the case against Noise Records.
      So while Kiske worked on new songs, Weikath had other things to deal with. But Kiske had found out how important he was for the band. As the lead-singer, he could have major influence. After the extreme success with Keeper 2, Weikath, now, new how important Kiske was, so he would not go directly against him, in the working-process of their new album.
      So Weikath let´s Kiske take the lead on Pink Bubbles, while he, himself, only co-writes one song on it. It ends up becoming a big failure, but Kiske is stubborn, and refuses to change the musical direction. Weikath knows that this cannot go on, but he don´t wanna risk Kiske leaving. So instead of confronting Kiske, he let him continue. Weikath tries to add more heaviness to the album, but even though "Giants" shows some of the old Helloween-style, it is overlooked by Kiske´s more progressive rock-songs.
      The album-sales a dropping, and the fans are turning their backs on the band. So Weikath can only see one option: they have to get rid of Kiske. So he decides to talk to the rest of the band behind his back, and while both Groskopf and Grapow agree´s with Weikath´s decision, Ingo is against it. But democracy has spoken, so Weikath goes directly to Kiske, and tell him head on: You´re out.
      Weikath is determined of saving the band, by any means necessary. Ingo has now become extremely unpredictable, and his sickness has gone from bad to worse, and was now affecting his ability to perform live. Weikath new what he had to do, so over a six hour-long phone call, he also sacked Ingo.
      I have all this from Tommy Hansen (former Helloween-producer and friend), whom I know.
      Now, I am not saying that Weikath is innocent in all this, because he isn´t. But he did what he had to do, in order to keep Helloween going. The reason that Hellowen is around today, is all Weikath. With Kiske, Helloween would´ve gone into oblivion. But of course, Weikath is to blame as well. He should have taken the lead as soon as Kai left. He Should´ve stood up to Kiske much earlier than he did, instead of letting things go SO far.
      Regarding Ingo, that was indeed a tragedy, but an unavoidable one. Again, Weikath did what he had to do. Ingo was way too sick in his mind, and he was damaging Helloween. But Weikath never felt good about sacking Ingo. Weikath cried in the phone when he told him, because he new what could happen if Ingo was left totally alone. him getting fired from Helloween, could´ve been what pushed him through the edge, and Weikath was never the same after he committed his suicide. Weikath has always felt, that if someone were to blame, it was him. But sacking Ingo was a mutual decision within the band -but Weikath had taken it upon himself to lead Helloween back to greatness, so therefor, he had to be the one telling Ingo :/

    • @7dayspking
      @7dayspking 9 лет назад +1

      Mickey Holm You clearly didn't read my comment at all....I was referring to what Kiske's view was...and I'm sure Kiske would know more about what HE FELT and HE WANTED than you or anyone else did, LET ALONE WEIKATH.....who I'm sure would more than happily twist thing around (just as Kiske would when referring to Weikath....both of them are probably full of shit when talking about each other.)
      Kiske did ask for a more melodic Helloween....because he wanted Helloween to sound like IRON MAIDEN (who he pointed out were his favourite band before joining Helloween.)...and guess what? that is kind of what Helloween sounded like on the two Keepers albums...a mixture of Iron Maiden and the aggressive Speed/Thrash sound on their previous songs. Both We got the Right and You always walk alone were metal songs....just not aggressive Speed/Thrash songs like their other material......which again makes a lot of sense.
      Kiske himself in one of the interviews I read suggested that Ingo had to be removed from the band because he wasn't able to perform....he blamed Weikath because ACCORDING TO KISKE, Weikath had been treating Ingo poorly well before Ingo was kicked out of the band (Kiske also suggested Ingo was struggling well before Kiske or Ingo were removed from the band....and that him being removed was a long time coming, he just didn't like the manor in which the others treated him BEFORE that point....or how they STOPPED supporting him after he was removed from the band, HE WAS LEFT ALONE.)
      Helloween's pieces on Pink Bubbles go ape were still heavy metal songs......they were LESS MELODIC if anything than the songs on Keepers (and more generic Speed metal.) Which wouldn't make sense if Kiske had written all of it (I'm not even going to read the who composed them but I bet Kiske wrote BOTH 'Kids of the century' and 'Someone' crying' as both sound like old helloween songs.). Most of the actual songwriting is ACCORDING TO MOST SOURCES from Grapow, Kiske and Weikath.....all three of them contributed. Kiske did not write the whole album...Grapow and Weikath actually had as much input as Kiske did.........CHAMELEON is a different story though....Kiske only had MINIMAL input on Chameleon, most of the writing was down again by Grapow and Weikath.
      After Kiske and Ingo were fired.....THEIR SOUND DID NOT SHIFT BACK......their material after that point while still being quite serious......didn't really shift much stylistically (Well not from Pink Bubbles go Ape.....there are however differences between it and Chameleon.)
      The point I'm making is the SOUND ON THE KEEPERS ALBUM....was not Weikath's....hence why THAT SOUND WAS NEVER HEARD AGAIN in Helloween's music. Weikath never really played Melodic guitar passages or solos, KAI HANSEN ALWAYS DID (In fact Weikath seemed to fuck up most of the Clean guitar sections live.....he sounded like a cat scratching a chalkboard.)
      That Melodic Sound in Helloween's keeper albums was all Kiske, Kai and Ingo (Mainly Kai's guitar.).....which is why GAMMA RAY continued that Melodic sound....where as Helloween did not after Kai left.
      Apart from that, I never suggested Kai left because of Weikath.....it was Kiske whom did. He suggested Weikath started slowly pushing for control of the band since the FIRST Keepers album was written....and he believes that is why Kai left.
      Either way......I disagree with the idea that Weikath should have taken control sooner....because he did on Chameleon and it was in my opinion their worst album at the time. IN FACT I don't really like ANY of their albums after the Keepers releases (I don't hate them....I just don't love them.)....EXCEPT a few songs on Pink Bubbles go ape (although I wish they were more Melodic.)
      I'd prefer listen to Gamma Ray than newer helloween (I actually really like Gamma Ray.) I never really liked Weikath's helloween......where as I liked KAI'S (from Walls of Jericoche to Keepers part 2.)
      Can you see why I might perceive it the way I do now? I don't think Weikath 'saved' Helloween....I think Kai ruined it by leaving.....without Kai's sound....Helloween just wasn't my preference anymore. (even their debut album, their demo and their release on the Compilation/Split release 'Death metal' had those epic melodies that I loved about early Helloween....their newer stuff didn't.)

    I used to love when they'd bounce balls through the audience. But I was always too messed up to actually catch one and pass it on.

    Andy Deris and Michael kiske is a legend! and They are both a very great vocalist! if you judge kiske is better than deris, or deris a better than kiske, that is very stupid thing!

    It's Helloween not only Kiske...why fucking write Kiske continuously?

    • @eazye519
      @eazye519 6 лет назад

      Stamatis Katsikas because without him it's not the same band. Any of the other members can be replaced and they'll still be amazing but without Kiske it's a totally different band.

      This is not excuse my friend...
      It's Helloween or nothing.

    • @eazye519

      Stamatis Katsikas sorry but Helloween with Deris is not the same band as Helloween with Kiske. Not saying they're bad or Deris is bad. Kiske is just the best.
