hey Ben ,thanks for the videos ,I just completed two 4x8 modules with the form board tops really solid, I was watching your second series on track laying and it got me thinking I to am going to need lots of track to complete my layout, if you don't mind me asking, where and how did you find all the track you used. thanks KEN , you'll see my post to you in a earlier comment , about the materials needed for the modules , just to show you how important your input is , Thank you....
Hi Ken, I picked up the used track from a variety of sources. I got some at a train show, others on Facebook Marketplace that people were selling dirt cheap because of their condition, still others I picked up at estate sales, where the husband modeler had passed away and the wife put his entire layout up for sale. If you shop around you can find a lot of used track for sale and by doing what I demonstrate in the video, you can save a lot of money. My track is all Atlas brand, code 100. Some pieces are brass, (which I have come to regret - brass is high maintenance) but the vast majority of the pieces are nickle silver, which is better than brass. I Hope this answers your question. Let me know if I can help with anything else. Thanks! Ben.
Another great video, thanks for sharing your tips and knowledge!
Thanks!
