I would be curious to see the real world testing that I know esoteric will do for battery charge and run time. Cool concept

The charger will charge one battery faster than you can deplete the other battery.

I am just a DIY guy so no, but I wish I could justify it, I still use my Rupes HLR15ES which still works great.

Received mine but yet to use, for the money I think it should have come in a dedicated storage case like the Flex.

Only thing that worries me is that the location of the battery. Every other manufacter has offset fitment battery. There seems to be very little clearence

This one has plenty of clearance. The portion that sticks out is above the polisher. I cant see how i would hit the paint using it.

Anticipating your feedback and review. The price makes it a hard decision for non-pros. Will they be releasing the polisher, battery packs, and charger only option any time soon?

Definitely hope they do, I currently use a 5inch DeWalt DA since all my tools are Dewalt and I only use the power stack batteries. Looking to buy an additional two for the Rupes

Thank you Todd. Am I wrong? Look like dielectric grease is needed again
Also I would hope your shop looks into Mirka at some point. The 3” seems to be above and beyond anything ever offered. And I don’t think it would be a stretch to have them build a 5” / 6” for automotive industry

We've never questioned Rupes' reliability. They've made excellent polishers for many years, and we don't expect anything less with the HLR machines.

Let's talk about how many batteries I would need to have for this 1000$ machine to effectively polish a whole car, when the stated battery life is 45 minutes. And if I would use the wired adapter, then why bother with a battery powered machine? Battery life gets lower with time as well. And for very specific use cases where you just quickly grab it to see of you can polish a spot...1000$ LOL no way

Another power tool with another propriety battery. Unfortunate.
Feel this would be easier to market if they had gotten in contact with Milwaukee/dewalt and used their design to accept batteries.
