Sasha : I may not be the fastest reader
Sasha : finishes at least 5 books a month
+Shamie M This is actually true though. I read about 5 books a month, but I'm not a very fast reader. I just spend a lot of time reading.
+Shannon Leigh same around 2-4 hours a day
+Shamie M That's me. I will spend all day reading.I'm not the fastest but read about 3-5 books a month.
She puts more time in reading I guess
There's people in my class that finish a book each day ._.

"Just because you have dyslexia doesn't mean you are illiterate." THANK you!! I have dyslexia but i absolutely LOVE to read. Whenever people find out they don't believe me because I read so much. You said so many relatable things that are so true. Like not everyone has dyslexia the same way, and you make dyslexia. Anyway thanks for making this video =)
You should be very proud of yourself ♥
mayrayamonte I have dislexia and people judge me and call me stupid
I don't have dyslexia, but a couple of years ago i was struggling with this weird reading issue. My mind was going completly OCD and wanted me to read a sentence over and over and OVER again until my brain was 100% sure that yes now i've fully read that sentence. So i was reading extremly slow and it took me triple as much time to get through a book. So reading was exhausting and not fun at all. So i stopped reading for a while. Finding booktube actually helped me get over this problem. I was really in the mood to read again. It went slowly in the beginning and just getting through 20 pages a day was hard, but then i got through 30 p and then 40 p and now i'm reading like i used to again!
+MarieMa1907 I have the same problem! I used to love reading but when I got OCD it was really difficult for me to read. I feel like I have to read some words over and over again. I still try to read even though it's hard. But I find that it gets better the more I read :) you're not alone xx
I have that too :/
Sometimes I'm so slow that i section the book in fractions and so if I want to read a book of 100 pages in one week I make sure I divide it into seven and I force myself to read one seventh of that book. Does anybody else to that?
I actully don't have this particular OCD but I think i completely understand! Throughout my primary and secondary school I really struggled with finishing Maths homework and exams on time, not really because I'm terrible at solving maths equations but there's this super annoying OCD that pushes me to check my calculation and answer over and over and over... I like to check (for at most two times) things when reading, writing and watching too but not nearly to the OCD degree. And I was not very confident as a child and teenage so my parents said I should just 'trust' myself more and stuff like that and just do it, faster. But that's not the (main) problem and it's not helping! I literally couldn't CONTROL myself and OCD just took over my mind and body when i do maths, until I'm like 110% sure the calculation process is all correct.
but now i'm finishing uni and what I do find is that as my confidence and general level of happiness and inner peace (lol) improve, my habit of reading and writing checking is fading. I'm probably less OCD with Maths too but not sure, since i haven't touched it for years;)
DID YOU SAY DR. STILINSKI?!??!?!? Omg if you did. I can't, omg.
+Cornelia Sundberg What am I missing?
404-equivalent Teen Wolf haha. My (a lot of people's) favourite character is Stiles Stilinski (played by Dylan O'brien 😍😍)
+404-equivalent I think because of teen wolf. Stiles last name is Stilinski.
+Cornelia Sundberg hes my favourite, his reaction just make me laugh (dont give any spoilers im only on season 3)
+Cornelia Sundberg Someone who understands! YASS. Usually when I 'fangirl' about teen wolf no one understands.. :( Honestly that made my day! You are cool :D
I'm Dyslexic and my thoughts are more creative than most people could imagine but I just can't explain or write down my ideas and knowone understands ;(
Well then how do you type well?
Mark Noleson Because I Type More Most Lessons In School
Try telling your story through a dictation software suite like DRAGO PRO.

you should write short stories against the overthinking. Just write a Story with one idea and Put the New idea in another Story :)
Good idea!
Ricki could you sub to me ily so much
SASHA YOURE A DEMIGOD (Percy Jackson. Most demigods have some form of dyslexia and ADD or ADHA
Randomness I have ADHD and minor dyslexia
My brother has severe dyslexia paired with ADHD. He used to struggle with it and still does, but not as bad now thankfully. I'm going to show him this to encourage him with reading so thank you!
HES A DEMIGOD
My sister is dyslexic but loves stories so I tell her the plot of the books I'm currently reading and on the rare occasion she likes the sound of them so she pick it them and tries to read it herself. She prefers to read aloud than in her head (that way I can help her out with some words). A little over a year ago she picked up City of Bones and she's read all six books in the series, sometimes with my help and sometimes by herself. I couldn't be more prouder knowing I helped her find the confidence to read by herself more :)
Thanks for sharing your story Sasha!
Just like Percy Jackson!!! PLEASE READ THOSE BOOKS!!!! they are FANTASTIC! WHo know maybe you are a DEMI-GOD!
My lazy eye was never fixed. I'm actually scared of eye contact - it sucks :( Books are my escape from reality :)
same😄
It's going to be alright
+Issak Nolasco It IS all right. I'm used to it by now :) But like with everything, there are worse and there are better days..
Same I have glasses and I don't feel like they are helping...
+Barbora Svorenova
whats a lazy eye
i am really proud of you Sasha for making this video. I really love that you've pushed through the dyslexia and the books that you have.
It is just so awesome of you to share this with all of us!
AW Sasha I'm so proud of you xx it's so good to see that despite dyslexia and everything you're still doing what you love and have gone on to study what you love at college x
Good for you! I'm glad that you made this video. This will probably help lots of people. Keep up the positive and good work!
My mom is a psychologist and has helped so many kids with many different issues and something she told me is that if a doctor or anyone ever sat each and everyone single on of us down we would all have a mental disorder just in different doses. So for anyone who is dealing with an issue like this, don't worry we are all a tiny bit messed up but it's being a tiny bit messed up that makes us human who overcome 😄
You are such a strong and inspiring person.
I'm so proud of you Sasha, for sharing your story with us, and for going ahead with no doubts. You're a super person and we love you so much. Your videos are the best videos ever!!
Thank you so much for doing this video! I have dyslexia and everything that you said is so relatable. I don't see many people in a positive vet realistic way. Love you!
Thank you for sharing your story!
Love u Sasha ur such a role model💜
This is a great video! Good for you for overcoming this and sharing your story with us!!!
I'm so glad that you made this video! I have struggled with dyslexia myself all my life and I found reading had helped me a lot as well. I agree with everything you said in this video and it makes me happy so see someone who like me overcame this hurdle (and someone who loves books as much as I do :D ) so thank you so much for making this video!!
Such an inspiration😭
Sasha you're such an inspiration for all people that have dislexia and also for who haven't 😊 you're so strong and I really really really liked the way how you said that you have dislexia, because you were not afraid to say it and that's great! 💜
Sasha I love you soo much I start reading more books because of you, so I want to say to you a big THANK YOU, you're an amazing person.... LOVE YOU FROM ITALY 😘😘
**dyslexia
+Gaia Carstairs She didn't respond to you your post. I guess she doesn't like you.
+Rayve Napsu and so??
Gaia Carstairs
She probably didn't read your comment either. She was too busy reading the first sentence of Dr. Seuss's The Cat in the Hat which took her all day to read.
+Rayve Napsu that's not funny, you know?
I love that you are so open and positive! And you are right, we have to love/accept ourselves and accept that out circumstances don't define us. I dont have dyslexia but you still definitely inspired me :) Keep doing what you love Sasha, stay dauntless!
Sasha thank you for sharing your story! I think that it's amazing that you overcame this obstacle and kept a positive attitude about dyslexia, even after it made learning and reading so frustrating. I'm so happy for your achievements and I know that this video will help someone in the future. When you write your book I'll be first in line to read it!
Love you and your channel ❤️ keep up the good work
Your mother would be so proud of you :)
+Sophia Llievore
Say whhaaaat?!?!?!?!
YOU ARE A DEMIGOD. Please read the Percy Jackson and The Olympians Series!
Apoorva Patnaik oh my gosh that series is literally the best
Apoorva PatnaikSHES PROBABLY A DAUGHTER OF ATHENA
I'm so proud! You're such an inspiration, Sasha!❤
Yours is a truly inspiring story Sasha. I had a minor concussion when I was younger and ever since then I've had trouble focusing , I've learned overtime to work around it but it's still really hard. Thank you Sasha for sharing your story and reminding us that no one is alone in our learning disabilities.
I was diagnosed with dyslexia when I was in elementary school. I was also struggling with being right handed when in all actuality I was left handed. My teacher kept forcing me to use my right hand, letters were being flipped around, and also I would invert numbers as well. The school called in my parents for a meeting and my teacher kept telling my parents that I needed to go to special ed classes. She kept labeling me "retarded" -Her exact words (not trying to offend anyone with that word but that is how I was labeled) My mom flipped out and put me in a rehabilitation center after school and they helped me with learning to be LEFT handed. They made me left handed scissors and taught me to write left handed. I was truly left handed and because my teacher kept telling me I was using the "wrong hand" it made things worse. I went to the rehab center everyday after school and I did fine. I had reading struggles and math struggles but I truly think being in those rehab classes helped me stay caught up in class and stay current with my reading level. After a yr, I didn't have to go to rehab any longer and I did well during my academic years. Thank you for sharing your story with us!!!
well i don't know if i have some sort of dyslexia but back in school or even now, teacher always said that i should read more to improve my spelling, thing was i did read all the time but it never helped ;) but hey i love reading and spell checkers are a huge help whenever i write something ;)
+Eilony Lunar Same here. Lucky me I have a Sister, that always corrects my Papers for Uni...
Also terrified of commenting, especally in in english (not my native language).
brillosaurusrex yeah me too! my native language is German, it always takes me a little longer to comment :)
Bei mir auch :/
brillosaurusrex hallo ;) genau! grüessli aus der Schweiz
+Eilony Lunar wusste garnicht, dass hier auch wer Deutsch spricht :D
Oh Sasha your story is amazin. The fact you didn't let your dyslexia get in your way is simply amazing. You seriously inspire me to overcome any trials that I have. I remember when I was young and I was not an avid reader my reading was horrible and I hated reading in public as a 5th grader and my reading level was not the best for it should have been it was embarrassing having to read out loud to a kindergartner when we went to go visit their class. I remember feeling so embarrassed that I did not like reading but like you on my own time I started reading and it got better it took years and years for my reading to finally improve but I always had a love for reading because of my grandmother. The fact of what you're majoring in college with your dyslexia and your not letting stop you is amazing! Love your channel!
Your story is amazing. I did not know you have dyslexia. And now that I have heard, I can see how you're a fighter, in fact. The fact that you have dyslexia did not stopped you to read and to make videos. You are a true inspiration to young people and I'm glad you put this video out there. It could help many children and young people, who are going through a similar situation as you. I'm so glad you're successful at what you do and keep going like that. Thank you Sasha!
You're DemiGod Sasha.
anyway, I miss that encore song :'D
Hey girl!!! I recently discovered that I also have dislexia and I had all my childhod> In Romania nuobody knows about this and al my school time the teacher made fun of me that I'm retarded and I don't know to read. But I love to read a lot and I love your videos, and also I love to learn forein languages but is dificult for me. Love you a lot!!
Your amazing for being able to stay on topic in your videos, i couldn't do that. I seriously had no idea you had add.
It's amazing how you can talk about your struggles so openly - I can't say I understand what having dyslexia feels like, but I can understand what having something affect your learning, and hours of testing etc feels like, I have chronic fatigue syndrome along with a multiple other things. It makes long term concentration really hard, so it makes reading harder too! But like you, reading helped me through! I've also missed over four years of school, and I fell behind with so much. It is so frustrating having something holding you back. You're so strong, thank you for sharing this with us. Even though what is "wrong" with us is different, it is also similar in some ways and it's nice to feel not so alone! x
Any plans to read the Percy Jackson books since the main character has ADHD and Dyslexia? Even though I just have Aspergers I immediately related to the main character and loved how Rick Riodan made the two disabilities part of the Greek Myth world.
+Genin99 Not just the main character, having dyslexia and adhd makes demigods be better warriors :)
It would be awesome if you write a book!!!!
+Melissa M I agree with you!
+Melissa M
That's not a good idea. Her brain might explode or something.
Rayve Napsu a year later her book is being released August 1st!
Your story is just so inspirational, even more so watching this after your book has come out.
Fantastic video! It's so great that you're sharing Your story. Lot's of People will relate to this and find Comfort in this. Keep up the good work!
I just can't read I can but I skip so many words u make it seem so easy but u didn't mention anything hard except for programs there's a lot more in school I can't remember anything when it comes to test I have to learn it again I think of thing but I can't put it on paper it so hard having dyslexic I wish I didn't have it I also have a twin and he alway douse way better then me he gets so much are praise I do to but the ting that annoys me the most when some says "just try ur best " or good effort .
Try using audio books for reading and dictation to help. Worked for my friend.
I have dyslexia and ADHD, I was diagnosed with the two when I was in the 2nd grade, I had a major form of dyslexia and a minor form of ADHD, my dyslexia makes me awful at spelling, I would not know how to spell a word with out the red line under words. My ADHD makes me hyper, I don't think before I say things, I forget what I was going to say in the middle of talking to someone, if I start thinking about stuff I start to walk around the house in a trance not knowing what I am doing when I snap out of the trance, I have to always be moving or talking to keep my self from screaming out in irritation, i also have major anxiety because of my ADHD, I can't be calm and collected when things are hard, I just melt down and cry, scream, and I am overall nasty when I can't do something, and the worst thing is is that I can't control it. ( I continue this in my reply, I don't have enough space to write the rest)
When my dyslexia and ADHD mix it usually happens when I am reading, if the audio book guy is not speaking while I am reading i instantly forget what I just read and I have to read it again over and over until I remember it. My dyslexia affects me by not allowing me to read in my head, I can't spell, ( I literally asked someone how to spell orange, hehe mean girls reference) I am awful at grammar, word get mixed around, this was and still is my life, but it's gotten better, I used to hate reading with a passion until I picked up the lightning thief by Rick Riordan, that book changed my life forever, I now read more, lastly I would like to say one thing, I would never change my life for all the money in the world, my life is special and I don't want it to me anything more or less, I have came to accept my disability and it is what makes me puppypaws2012 ( I am not allowed to say my real name 🤗) Thanks for reading my story 😝
+puppypaws2012 I can completely relate to ur problem . I have the same problem , soo what do u do to improve the spelling and reading ?
+puppypaws2012 Another demigod :)
+Alexandra Delgado At first glance I thought I saw Alexandra Daddario and was like what? I got even more confused when I saw your comment.
ahahhahahaah
Love this video! Thanks for sharing your story, Sasha, you're awesome.
its so inspiring to hear this :) someone with dyslexia who still reads books often. i love your story, it definitely makes me smile :)
*gasp* you're a demigod 😂
ADD and Dyslexia, sounds like a demigod to me
Omg Sasha I'm so so glad that you got to share your story with all of us! I've never been diagnosed before and I've always been afraid to tell my mom because she knows that she believes in me in accomplishing things and what not. But ive always been struggling with reading and writing and I also used to be a very good speaker but not until it came sophomore year of high school. Everything was different, I always started to stutter, afraid of making eye contact, etc. I struggled so so much and I felt so insecure about this and stupid because I always thought that I'm always the last one to get to things. I didn't know what was happening to me. Your youtube channel is the reason why I started to read and now im head over heels with them. I really used to hate reading but now I absolutely love them. I'm now a freshman in college just like you are and it's definetly something I need to work on. I do believe that I'm starting to improve on myself but what I'm not sure is if I should still go to the doctor and get tested... I'd really appreciate it if someone replied it'd help me a lot ☺ Thanks again for the amazing video Sasha ily ❤
Thank you for sharing your story. It's so interesting and inspirational. I'm proud of you for pulling through and trying your best. Go you! 👍
So your saying... your a demigod?
I can relate to you so much !! I have been dyslexic since I was six and I didn't start full on reading till I was 14 and I've improved so much! I've improved more than I have with the help of special tutors :) I always say that by starting to read a lot it saved me in a way (education wise) thank you so much for opening up about your dyslexia! ❤️
I'm so proud of u! You are truly inspiring ❤️ Thank you!
Good job Sasha!! So proud of you for overcoming all of this! :)
Thanks for sharing how you learned to live with dyslexia and ADD. I think you are a great person and you are a stronger person because of this. You are an inspiration for others who are going through the same things you are. Hope you are having a great day.
Sasha i love you so much and i am glad you posted this video as it could really help people. It was awesome for you to share this and your hair looked amazing in this video!
I almost cried in this video. Sasha is such an inspirational person.
I'm proud to see someone who struggles through but comes out strong at the end. I actually have dysphasia wich is a learning dissability of speaking and understanding what other people are saying to you. I'm better today since a doctor and my mom tested me when i was 4 years old. I still have a little bit of struggles when it comes to learning, but i have higher marks today then when i was a kid. I'm actually happy for you working hard as a kid (even when you didn't). :)
I am so glad you made this video. I am dyslexic too, and I was diagnosed when I was in 3rd grade. I was really lucky because my mom had dyslexia so she knew what the symptoms where, otherwise I would have been like you and my teachers would have just passed it on as something else (my 2nd grade teacher just thought I was a lazy student ). I really have my reading teachers to thank. I have to take a list of extra reading classes and each one of them always encouraged my to just read. It wasn't until I was in 8th grade when my teacher talked about Twilight that I willingly read a book on my own and enjoyed it. I'm proud that I am a reader and dyslexic, because it shows me what I have over come. Thank you for making this video I think it will help a lot of people not only understand dyslexia better, but show those who have this disability that they can do anything they want to.
I'm so glad you were able to be like your mom, like you always wanted! that's so sweet.
Love that you did this video. Thank you for sharing your story :)
You are so brave and amazing for doing this talk. Well done❤️
my brother has dyslexia so it's nice listening to you to help me understand it more :) your story is really inspirational sasha thank you for sharing
wow, your amazing for being able to stay on topic in your videos, i couldn't do that. I seriously had no idea you had add.
Hi, thanks for posting your video. I've recently been watching a lot of videos online to try and understand myself better. I've been struggling to get better at reading it I can get through almost to book a month which is pretty great progress. It's really nice to see how well you've excepted your dyslexia and makes me feel like I need to try hard to except my own.
Awesome story and thank you for sharing Sasha. Have a great weekend.
Thanks for sharing your story! I'm sure many people can relate.
I have ADD, and it went undiagnosed until i was in college. This really hindered my ability to do well in school, and I didn't really get into reading until high school. It's still hard for me to focus on one book for two long, but I really love reading so I've figured out ways that I can still do it.
Great video!
This is my favorite vid! I have two loved ones who have dyslexia. My dad never learned to read, but he was born in the days when the teachers did not understand this need. Growing up I had to read subtitles at movies or menus for him when I visited him. The other, pushed through and luckily was born in a state that had programs to help. He later became a strong reader. I love seeing the huge improvment in help, educators are having with those who struggle with dyslexia.
Thank you so much for sharing :)
My favorite pararomance author has shared her struggles with dyslexia openly to help teachers and educators when aiding a person struggling. She has such an amazing mind full of great characters and worlds. The world would be a lot less colorful if she had let dyslexia stop her from telling her stories.
I have adhd and I love reading. It's really interesting to learn this about you!! I had no idea!
This is a really good video! I'm respect your strength to overcome this condition and do what you wanted to do even though it was harder for you. I like your positive point of you on this problem and really respect that. You've done a great job!
I love this video so much. You are such an inspiration to me. You're gorgeous inside and out!! Thanks for this video, it really showed me that just because you have a disability doesn't mean you can't slay!! Love you Sasha! ❤️
you inspire me more and more everyday ! ur a beautiful amazing person and I'm so proud to know someone as pure as u
This video came when I needed it the most. I'm 21 and have only just been diagnosed with dyslexia after struggling my whole life with reading and writing. I love words so much I'm doing a degree in English, something I thoughts I'd never be able to do. I think for me, it's been a blessing as it's made me more determined and greatful for learning to read and write
Thank you so much Sasha. This video has inspired me tons. I dont have Dyslexia but I have insecurities when it comes to reading out loud and stuff like that. Just, thank you so muchhhh
we appreciate your honesty!
Thank you for sharing your story. While I don't struggle with any type of learning disability, I do have other medical problems that make me feel like I'm being held back. I'm always ice cold, iron deficient, and have over all have a blood disorder that's so rare, it's called a heredity disorder but no one else in my family has it. My point is, by hearing your overcoming story and strong advice, I feel better knowing I can use your advice to help not only myself face problems but others who are struggling too.
thank you so much Sasha. that really help me. i thought that i was the only one. thank u one more time!! lysm
You are truly amazing Sasha.
I'm so proud of you Sasha ❤️ you are amazing ❤️
Thanks for sharing your story. It was brave. I have ADD. I was always daydreaming in class. My teachers thought I wasn't focusing, but I was just focusing on so many different ideas. It was hard. It still is sometimes. But that imagination has opened my mind in so many other ways and made me the arty person I am. I find walking in nature and reading helps to center me when my thoughts are all over the place.
Sasha this was a great video :) I'm sure it is going to help a lot of people feel more confident with their dyslexia.
I also have dyslexia and have been diagnosed since about the same time as you. When I was younger I struggled with getting my b's and d's mixed up but I finally got it :) I mostly struggle with phonological awareness which can make spelling and reading hard, especially when it's a word i've never seen before, but, on the other hand reading has actually helped with this as I've learnt a lot more words.
It is great to see how you have over come and learnt to live with your dyslexia :) Thanks for making this video :)
Thanks for sharing with us, Sasha! :) You're amazing
Could have swore that you were a very fast reader. Really proud you could overcome your dyslexia! Thank you so much for sharing your history you're an inspiration for everyone ❤
Having dyslexia myself this was so inspiring! People are always confused when I tell them I'm dyslexic as like you I love reading! When a friend told me about your RUclips channel and I found out that you also had dyslexia, it was great to know that someone else had also been through similar situations as me with books and reading! Even though I still have some weird spelling errors and hate reading aloud, knowing that you have done so well at something you should not be so comfortable with, I feel as though I can do the same :) Thank you for this video! x
I just have to work harder, study more, and still doing tutoring session today. Thank you so so so so much for sharing. You made me feel better.
Sasha this whole video and conversation in it is so so great, and just inspiring really. I may not have dyslexia or adhd (I don't think, lol) but your attitude about your situation is an inspiration in itself! :D i love what you said near the end, "i conquer." Youre so great Sasha, and i wish you the best :)
I have thought I was dyslexic for around 5 years. when I was in year 9 I talked with my school councillor about it and she put my theory down straight away because I liked to read. Yes I can read but I usually have to read each paragraph twice to understand it. Also, when we studied a play in class I loved volunteering to read because I can become that character for a little while but I always read the play several times the night before so I knew what was happening and so I didn't stop or stutter at any words.
This video is a great encouragement for me. Thank you so so much :)
You're such an inspiration Sasha!
I'm glad you aren't ashamed of having dyslexia!
My sister is dyslexic and I remember her always asking me how to spell words, so I basically had to sit down with her and her homework all the time to make sure she got words right.
Thanks for making this video! You have definitely helped someone out there who is ashamed of having dyslexia!
So proud of your achievements. I love watching your videos so so much ;)
That video was AWESOME!!! We should never underestimate ourselves. We will have to face some problems, this is life. But we should believe in ourselves so as to make everything possible. Cause we can!!! You did it Sasha!!! I admire you!!!
I know exactly how you feel Sascha, I deal with Dyslexia and it really affects me sometimes. Thank you for making this video! your awesome!
I came across your channel yesterday and I love it!!!
Great Video. I plan to make one this week. I had quite the adventure and I plan to lay out from beginning to where I am at now. Happy to see there are other people out there that are very open about it. Like I always used to say "It was my excuse, but now it is my story"
