This movie is up there with the great film nuiors. Tragic and beautiful, and touching upon that battle within. A satisfying finale with excellent performances by all. Well worth most anyone's time.
Wow, mesmerizing movie. So glad I watched it. My heart is broken for her husband. The doctor was very wise, so glad he was there for her and him. She was just lovely and so very captivating. The acting was just fabulas.

But we suffered prejudice in the 50s and 60s.My father was quite dark and found it hard to find work. People sometimes forget what mixed blood people went through.
Dialogue left alot to be desired...However, Merle Oberon being a supreme actress holds the film together - she makes such a super wicked woman! TOO MANY COMMERCIALS!

She was average looking imo, but her posture, gait, voice, and speech makes her very attractive and alluring.

Merle was Anglo Indian and always denied her Indian heritage as Hollywood was racially prejudiced against colored actors
