This video shows the final boss battle of the PS4 version of Ratchet & Clank, Dr. Nefarious. I'll give a few tips on how to beat him.

Beating Nefarious isn't the problem. It's those darn robots of his that get in the way when refilling your ammo and jetpack!

I kept failing because of these stupid gravity mines that pull you in and explode upon comtact, and those flying robots he send out!

Masterpiece 402 hey man I suggest upgrade your raptor launcher If you have alot of ranitarium use that and upgrade wisely chose the grenades and upgrade them too and upgrade pixeliser and the rockets but mostly raptor launcher you can do it please upgrade wisely
I always get down to 10% i'm hit then I'm dead.
Is anyone else finding this boss battle incredibly hard? To the point where it’s unfair or is that just me? I am playing on Easy and I’ve been stuck on this boss for over 2 hours now. Trying not complain too much. But this for me is way too hard for playing on easy mode Lol.
Unpopular opinion (apparently): All bosses in games suck lol.
You have probably dropped the game but if you still haven't and you are still struggling with the boss here some tips
Tip1: make sure the weapon you use or highly leveld
Tip2: try to dodge the boss has much has you can
Tip3: you can use the Grovetiron to distract The warbots
Tip4: when the boss heals make sure to deal has much damage to him to minimise the healing
I've beaten nefarious at least 3 times one with everything I got and two with the RYNO not to brag but the first time I was stuck on nefarious for a long time and I almost rage quit...
Damn, I must be getting old because I struggled with this boss more than I should. I had a pixel of health left and about 10% jet fuel when When I beat him. Felt so good

Me too what I was trying to beat nefarious I was literally having heart palpitations but I've played this game multiple times and the weapon that you should invest in early on would be the Raptor launcher and if you got all the RYNO cards use RYNO
The Final Boss was pretty dam annoying and unfair.
Edit : I finally beat him since I figured out how to stop these flying bombs, thanks to you, the pixelizer was so helpful.

Tip: get the Ryno if you don't already have it you will kill him in about 20 seconds

I was up i think for 3 hours at midnight trying to beat the final boss. One of the most stressful bosses ive ever beat.

I don’t understand. In the video, every shot is lowering his health 1 to 2%. I play on the PS4, and it takes three or four shots to lower his health even 1%
What weapon are you using?
I guess depends on the upgrades and what level your weapon is
I believe I have everything but the rhino. And even then everything is been just about fully upgraded

I played this for two hours trying to defeat him with my best weapons, I even went back to hangar area and upgraded my weapons and went back in to try again. I still couldn’t defeat him.
I finally just went to get the RYNO gun from Rilgar. Fortunately, I had most of the RYNO cards already, the hardest one to get was the hoverboard race.
Once I had the RYNO gun, the fight was over in less than a minute. Powerful gun
For anyone who’s having trouble defeating Nefarias, I highly recommend taking the effort to get the RYNO gun.

I did for 2 hours 😭
Took me about 30 or 45 minutes to beat him on normal. I was running out of ammo very fast.

Beating this boss is a simple two step process.
1: Get the RYNO.
2: That’s it.
Its literally impossible, I don't get it how you get that much damage, I always run out of ammo

I did 40% damage in like 1 second because I waited for him to fall on the platform then used, glove of doom, proton drum, groovinomb, Mr. Zurkon, and shot him with the pixelizer. All of that is to increase dps output or to debuff the boss to make it take more damage. I probably could have done more than 40% it was just that that was what he had left.
I did the orbs with the flamethrower. Worked fine as well

The first time I beat this boss today and it was on hard mode, and the only weapons I used was the pixel gun, disco ball, and the plasma striker. I use the pixel gun and disco ball to wipe out the brutes on the platforms so I can stand there, then I wait for the boss to approach me, then I fire another disco ball to make him dance, then I use the plasma striker to hit him in the weakpoints. I repeat the process only two times and the battle was a breeze took me like two minutes and no damage was taken
Where are the weak points then? Because I'm only doing 1% each shot whilst he's dancing....
Wtf?? I keep seeing people say they're using the groovibomb on him and yet I tried a couple of times now and nothing. I wonder why it's not working for me
@@anothergamingchannel2656t him with the warmonger until he recharges on the sun. While he does that refill ammo and charge your jetpack. He’ll then leap into you on the platform. This is when you can deal massive damage on him. Throw the doom of glove, protoclast, equip mr zurkon, & then use the blade gun all at once. When you reach the other platforms use the groovatron to distract those warbots and refill ammo and jet fuel. Then repeat that same process with the plasma striker or pixelizer since the warmonger will be out of ammo soon until he’s dead. Also have flamethrower ready for those purple orbs. They’ll give you a hard time
Broke my disk took the time to eject it shout at it a bit and the set it down and got angry again picked it up and crushed it it's not even that hard I'm just an idiot
I just used doom blades to inflict damage and the groovitron to buy time for refueling the jet pack. Just make sure you keep nefarious in view and move sideways as soon as he attacks.
I was so pissed of emptying ammo, i thought of getting ryno and i killed it in seconds

Collect all the RYNO cards, go back and get the RYNO, then start the final battle. I destroyed him in less than 3 minutes and got the RYNO up to level 4 too on my first play through

I don't get it. Before I watched this video, I was doing all the same things you were doing. Ffs, why isn't working for me? Also in this video how come the boss doesn't put those mines that suck you in like a black hole?

(Mr. Zurkon and the Rocket launcher are the Best combo for the combine robots, which you have to also fight.)

The upgraded buzz saw blade gun was amazing during this boss fight
Years ago I played this game and never got to beat Nefarious.
I replayed Ratchet and Clank for the past few days. This time, I've been maxing out weapons by replaing levels.
I beat him today...by spamming the saw gun.
When he goes to the dwarf star and gets knocked back I grooviton him then use my proton gun on him pull out a mr zurkon and use the flamethrower. It can easily knock out 40% of his health.
Hmm I've tried the groovitron on him and didnt do anything for me. I've been using the proton drum instead while hes laying there
I beat him earlier, and I wanna get the RYNO to do it again and see why he is easy. In my playthrough, I only didn't get the fifth and eight cards. What I did:
-Use Magma Buster(Combustor) on him before healing the first time; Try to do as much damage so he will only attack you once.
-Get more ammo;
-Hit him with Lavacitor(Pyrocitor) when he gets on your platform;
-Quickly fly to another platform;
-Continue hitting him with Magma Buster, Fusion Bomb/Grenade, basically everything.
Hint: Stay in the air. You wont get sucked into the mines. Also, dont focus on hitting the warbots. They aren't that much of a threat.
-When he is healing, go to another platform. He will hit the platform you were previously on. Why not stay on the earlier platform? The mines. You will most likely get hit by the mines.
-After he heals, Stay. In. The. Air. The bombs that follow you can easily be taken down by Lavacitor/Pyrocitor. When you see them, quickly switch.
-Hit with everything you have. Buzz Blades, Warmonger, EVERYTHING. He will start attacking like crazy and will do high damage. The robots can get hits on you. Try dodging in air and attack him with everything you have left.

I've tried about 12 times, closest I've gotten him was less than 10%.
I'm constantly running out of my good ammo, getting cheap shotted, and getting caught on the platforms due to the gravity (which also have mines on them too).
Me too... its so frustrating... the game was so easy till now... and my weapons simply aren't strong enough and I don't know how to go back to upgrade...story of my life.
@@Antz393 you got to be prepared and upgrade your arsenal honestly for me it represented a challenge and I had everything almost up to lv 4!

The boss battles in this game are crazy theres so many seeking projectiles, trying to manage fuel in the flying ones, tour ammo, also the fact very few weapons even do significant damage....like they're managable but i feel like they should all have like half the bealth the currently have. Also if you're missing a weapon youre pretty screwed
am i the only one who thinks this ratchet & clank was really short compared to the original? i know the new is supposed to be a copy of the 1st but with tiny changes.

autumn pierce This game was extremely short compared to the others. I beat this game in maybe less than 4 days. It was fun and hard and some of the bosses took me more than one try like Mrs. Zurkon, Captain Qwark, and this one
The story of the new ratchet and clank compared to the old is about 2 hours shorter. The original also had a lot more extra stuff to do.
GET THE RYNO GUN, PEOPLE! the last RYNO card is literally in the room right before this boss, so the developers clearly meant for this battle to happen with the RYNO gun.
Go back through the worlds and get all the cards, then go to the arms dealer and get that RYNO. don't struggle with this lol!

I was at the Final Boss Battle (All Data Saved before then) and when I went to go continue it after quitting cause I kept dying, Idk if Someone or I clicked New Game but when I continued it wiped before I managed to complete it... Depressed ngl
For those who still can't beat it.
When the fight starts quickly fly up and start using Peacemaker, when Nefarious lands on the platform quickly use Gloves of the doom(hopefully you will have a fairly high level of this weapon) when they all explode you should have Doom Blades ready for firing, and don't wait for him to start flying. When he does hover behind him until he tears the platform apart. This should get him to around 10% and then he lands on another platform (one to the right) , follow him, recharge your jetpack and start using Fusion Bombs as they deal huge damage and they are fairly fast. The battle should take you around 30 seconds so don't worry about anything else like robots. If by the time you start using Doom blades Nefarious doesn't get to around 10% restart and try again. The Gloves / robots, seriously can win this for you

I ended up doing what you suggested and just punished the ever living hell out of him while moving from platform to platform to refuel and get more ammo, completely ignoring the other robots.
My shit is maxed out and your making this look easy compared to my like 8th try that brought me here

The developers made this final boss battle so stingy with ammo. I couldn't do it on normal difficulty setting. I had to change to "casual" (besides, I'm a casual gamer anyway). They really made this boss battle unfair, holy crap. I kept running out the rocket ammo, the plasma ammo, and the pixelizer ammo. This is a kids game, no 12 year old is gonna beat this on the normal difficulty setting. Ridiculous...

This took me a while. The best way I found to beat him was to just constantly pepper him with attacks and don't let him regenerate his power .
A quick tip for youtubers... never say "this part shouldn't be difficult" in your video when explaining something - for it is 100% certain that someone is having difficulty with the section they are watching your video for, or they wouldn't be watching it. It is frustrating to hear "this part is easy" or some shit like that when you're already having trouble.

I kept failing on Normal despite having all my weapons at Level 4 or 5, it was so frustrating!
I didn’t have the RYNO, so I reduced the difficulty to Casual to finish it! I was so fed up smh!
