    American sitcom (situation comedy) originally broadcast for nine seasons on CBS from 1962 to 1971. The series is about a poor backwoods family transplanted to Beverly Hills, California, after striking oil on their land. This video is the 1st (first) episode.
    A rural Ozark family relocates to Beverly Hills after oil is discovered on their property worth $25 million. After finding oil on the land, the family is surprised when Mr. Brewster of the OK Oil Company offers to buy it. (The family home is set in the Branson, Missouri area.) After much coaxing by Cousin Pearl, Jed sells the swamp and moves the family to a mansion in Beverly Hills. Upon their arrival, they are arrested because of a case of mistaken identity but are later returned to the mansion safely.
    Turner Classic Movies host, Robert Osborne appeared in the pilot episode, as Jeffrey Taylor.

    Im from Tennessee and 59, when i would vacation in florida as a kid in the 70s the other kids from up north actually thought we didnt wear shoes, no ondoor bathrooms, married at 14 etc,lmfao...this made a stigma on the south with all these shows in rhe 60s, perticoat junction, andy griffith, and even Gomer Pyle show, aling with Hee Haw...even today Obama and other democrats running for president mention people from the Appalchia mou tains still living in the 1800s, its ridiculous, they have no idea what they are talking about or simply lying...RIDICULOUS
