This is Matts job and part of it is promotion weather it’s the clubs he is using or the clubs he is playing at, don’t forget all the good content he pumps out. This is entertainment and I’ve watched way more RUclips golf this past year than anything the tv puts out!! Keep up the great work Matt!! 👍
I'm glad to see you addressing this, Matt. Too often I see players catering to their egos instead of the needs of their respective games. I've seen 25 hdcp players with BLADES shooting into the 100's (when they don't lie). I play off 3.6 and I use Titleist T300 irons, as game improvement as you can get, so I don't really care how it looks to everyone else as long as I card a low score. Keep up the great work, LOVE your channel!
Could be they’re certainly great looking. Photo appears to be wrong though and there’s also the Pro 245s? Why not have the 52 @ 51 & 58 @ 57? Mizuno have such a good range at the moment
One of my biggest pet peeves about modern irons are that there aren’t any brands that are producing a medium forgiveness set that aren’t strong lofted. I have tour level speed with my iron swing but am a mid handicap player. I can’t gap well with a 7 iron that carries 200+, where blades are perfect yardages but not realistic for my skill level. One piece cavity backs are my best option but most options are blade like with standard lofts or more forgiving with strong lofts. I feel like almost every company has a gap in what they offer, while somehow still having a lot of options. I play the 223s and the 9 & 8 that are pure cavity backs are what I’d love a whole set of. At least to 6 iron.
Ping Blueprint T/S in retro lofts might work. You can also go for a heavier shaft that will trade a bit of distance for consistency. I've heard DG X100 and Project X steel are the most consistent steel shafts by far.
Yes getting old sucks. But honestly, the stronger lofted irons sucks when greens are firm. I rather loose distance and get most spin for the courses I play.
I've never understood ego playing into decisions. If the goal is to play as good as possible and shoot as low as possible (aka win tournaments) who cares what you need to play?!?
JPX 921 Forged guy here. Love them, but I’m curious about the hollow bodied MPs because we never really see a serious look or review of them by anyone.
I bought the 923s about 6 months ago, I tried the 223 and 225, didn’t feel anywhere as nice as I thought they would. The 923s felt like my previous Mizuno irons
Go and try them, it really isn't about pigeon holing them into a handicap bracket, it's very much about how you strike them and how they perform for you with your swing numbers. Seriously go and have a fitting or try them at a golf store.
Someone asked me if I’d rather play a round with Donald Trump or Tiger Woods… I couldn’t make up my mind, so I said Matt, Pete and Rick. I’ve never been to the UK, but it’s a dream golf trip. 😁

Like your videos but can’t be taking any club advice from you now that your a paid player for Mizuno, this was just a sales video, and you mentioned the biggest problem in golf during it EGO You’d rather sacrifice good scores to look good in the car park showing of your bats to your mates
Yes he is ….. described himself as a Mizuno Staff player which is a bit of a stretch imo. Luke Donald is a Mizuno staff player and Matt is a RUclipsr who takes their money. (Fair enough I suppose, everyone needs to make a living)
@@clientbuilding8737 I don't agree Matt was always using a lot of Mizuno stuff in his older videos so it made sense to sign with them. It would only be biased if he compared them to other makes of clubs and said the Mizuno were better. When he signed with them he did say he would stop doing reviews for that reason & I think that's fair & honest of him. I watch a lot of you tube golf & I think Matt's advice & videos for playing golf & trying to improve no matter what level you're at , is very good & simply explained. Others are all about equipment reviews and everything "new" is sensational when we all know it ain't

My mate is 8 handicap and plays G430 irons. He loves them and refuses to change.
Would love to see a comparison video between the jpx 925 forged and the pro 245??
Nice looking irons.. I have played some of the jpx line in the past and they are very very good irons.
In current non-blade sets you'll always going need the gap wedge. Then again I personally can't get irons with lofts
Sounding very “Corporate” Matt. Clubs however look gorgeous and if they give you what you need it’s all about result not ego. Go for it!
Those black irons look stunning
Could be they’re certainly great looking. Photo appears to be wrong though and there’s also the Pro 245s? Why not have the 52 @ 51 & 58 @ 57? Mizuno have such a good range at the moment
The S3 look very good
Talk about polished. The presenter that is. I think I'll go back to PW 52 and 58 also.
La Cala shout out, Matt! Irons are fab looking.
why not the mizuno 245 ?? those seem perfect
Looking forward to your review of the new S3. Hopefully released soon.
You always produce good videos Matt. 👍
I appreciate that!
Which one to pick? Simple the ones that make you the most accurate 👍.

Depends on your swing, I guess. I hit a rather high ball with a sharp descent angle, so I can hold greens most of the time.
I've never understood ego playing into decisions. If the goal is to play as good as possible and shoot as low as possible (aka win tournaments) who cares what you need to play?!?
You could wear a dirty white t shirt to a wedding and be "clothed"... but you'd rather wear a suit.
Just jokes, i agree with you 😀
Ego is one of the biggest hazards on the course. Blade type irons, stiff shafts and under clubbing…
@@robpannell390I cooked up a savage ego-destroying game. All approach shots must long of the pin or take the stroke and replay the shot. 😁
@@robpannell390 Too right, mate!
Hi Matt! Do you think the JPX 925 Forged is noticeably more forgiving than the Pro 245?
Thanks, Joe
What shafts are you using in those?
Love those irons.

Look great, confidence inspiring what's not to like, get them in the bag
Matt we know your gonna end up with the mizuno pro s3 in the bag
Look good them Matt 🔥🔥🔥😎
What other clubs are Mizuno releasing?
Good luck holding a green with those shovels
Aspiring elite player translates to +2 to +4 hcp 😮
OMG, go for the Darth Vader version. They look stunning!
is it a JPX tour?
What handicap range would you say these fit? Like 12-16?

Seriously go and have a fitting or try them at a golf store.
I know it has to look different each year, but the new design is not quite as good as before.
919 Tour were true beauties... But i think mizuno will offer soon a 925 tour model and Matt is waiting for them. Maybe they will look great?
Yea they are gunna be hard to beat ascetic wise
I guess you could say there isn’t any short cuts in golf, just golf marketing.😊
He is a Brand paid demonstrator. Does not hide it. Marketing = sunshine and popcicles
Legacy S3??
Sweet baby Jesus those look stunning
Matt if you did use these irons I can only see you using the 4, and 5 iron and blend with another mizuno model .... have a great 2025 season m8 🏌♂️⛳️
Where's the 925 Tour tho..........
A bit concerning, you say you want to play (I take it you want to win) in pro comps then say your ego comes into it. They don't marry up.
Mizuno offers what 8 different iron models? JFC simply.
Someone asked me if I’d rather play a round with Donald Trump or Tiger Woods… I couldn’t make up my mind, so I said Matt, Pete and Rick. I’ve never been to the UK, but it’s a dream golf trip. 😁
Nice
Great looking clubs as usual (bias Mizuno fan here)
Great video Matt looking forward to that first win!🤞
Fingers crossed!
who cares what they look like. its how you hit the ball that counts.
Why wouldn’t you just drop back into a 245?
please stop using nauseating terms like 'gaming'
This is really just an advert.

When is the release date for the tour version @mattfryergolf.?
There isn't one this year there is something coming tomorrow.....
@@Mattfryergolfso I understand after watching other release videos last night, it'll be interesting to see your review of it.
