I think some of your best content is fitting average players. I know that it's been difficult with covid-19 so I'm really happy to see Ron back testing stuff with you.

I think the 7 wood is also good with green approaches, I just add loft to the 5 wood and choke down on it for those shots instead of putting another club in the bag. But my 5 wood and 5 iron are my most reliable clubs, and super accurate. So I don't see me giving them up for anything

I always love it when Ron comes on. I consider myself a slightly younger, homelier version of him. I have similar tendencies along with the G410 driver and MMC irons in the bag. One of these days I hope to cross off my bucket list item and make a trip to TXG. Also, nice work with Gabe Galucci. Been following his progress also. Take care guys.

Im a 55 yo who plays off 7 and have a Heaven Wood (Callaway) and a 9 wood. I only carry irons from 6 down. It suits my gapping and have more confidence in the woods and it allows me to hit longer high shots into the green that stop. My distance off the tee is only around 240 yards so often leaves a 160-180 shot into par 4 greens. My HW goes on ave about 185 and 9 175. But can adjust that by working it one way or the other. I cop flack from my mates as i have a 4 wood with my driver. i occaisionally have a 2hybrid in the bag for low shots in the wind usually second shots on our par 5's. So there can be 5 headcovers in the bag. But I realised 5 years ago when I was a steady 12 handicapper that wasnt about the ego any more. Its about getting the job done in as low amount of shots as possible. And have sat on a HC from 5.9 to 8.2 for those last 5 years. Many people will get better by knowing and using the tools that give them the most consistent distances and not trying to keep up with how far everyone else may be hitting it. Also using a club distance tracking app like Arccos, Game Golf or Shotscope to give a true indication of club distances not the 9 iron you hit once 180 yards down wind down hill

These SIM fairway woods are no joke. Got fitted for one to replace an old 13.5 degree Titleist 910. The 15 degree SIM increased my ball speed by about 5 mph combined with increased spin and launch angle. this gave me a couple yards on total distance but, more importantly, made it so much more playable on course and hitting into par 5s. Very impressive clubs.

If I hadn't gone into this TXG Rabbit Hole a few yrs back, I can honestly say I wouldn't have this information about what are the key lofts where normal clubhead speed persons hit walls & need help improving launch. For irons it's 27-23 degrees where hybrids can help & for 23-18 degrees that is where hybrids meet 7&5 woods and where the next step down in clubhead speed makes the cross over - and it's this area where finding that BEST club is so important for scoring. I know everyone loves drivers but this is the most important part of the bag

I just got a 7 wood this year, it's awesome and really helping my game! It helps having extra forgiveness over a 5 wood, it let's me get decent distance off the deck. Epic flash 21⁰(cranked up to 23⁰).

Being a relatively average swing speed player I went to a Callaway fitting day at my local club today and came away very confused. I play an Epic 5w turned down a degree so really a 4w. Mavrik standard 5w at 18 degrees was at least 10-12 yards longer than my Epic despite a degree less loft, the Mavrik Max launched higher and was about the same as my current Epic, but the 7w (I think in the standard Mavrik) was almost exactly the same flight and distance as the Max 5w.
Very impressed with Mavrik, now need to try TM Sim and a couple of others

I am a dedicated 7-wood user, and like Ronnie I hit it off the tee on a couple of par-4 holes every round I play, plus occasionally when I encounter a 200-yard par-3 hole. If there is trouble (ravine, water, etc.) about 215-220 yards off the tee, I know that my 4-wood will almost surely carry that far, so the 7-wood is the logical choice for me. A friend of mine talked me into trying a 7-wood about two years ago, and I had an old "bargain basement" 7-wood in my garage that I put in my bag on a trial basis late in the 2018 season. I now carry a Callaway Epic Flash adjustable 7-wood that I have set at 20.5* loft and I installed an ACCRA Tour Z 85 (stiff) shaft in it. It carries a consistent 190 yards for me (124 MPH ball speed) and rolls-out to about 200 yards. My bag setup is driver, 16.5* 4-wood, 7-wood, then a 22* 4-hybrid before I get to my irons, and this works out perfectly for my game.

Seeing how what he has in the bag has evolved and the journey you and he have taken to get there is very cool. Keep it up and see you in six weeks. I’m 36, roughly 96-99 driver club head speed, I don’t use a 3 wood as I can’t get any ball flight with it. I have a 5 wood lofted down to 17 degrees and a 7 wood lofted down to 20 degrees. I hit the 5 wood as far as, if not farther than, any 3 wood I’ve ever tried.

This what is important, there are a whole lot of older men and women in this world who have money to spend on golf equipment, and are ready to give up the game of golf because of loss of distance. You guys are proving that there can still be life in us old dogs that want to compete with the right equipment in our hands, put in our hands by those who know what to put in our hands. What Father time has taken away, this is proof that you guys can give some of it back to us. Looks good on both of you, thanks.

What's in Ronnie's bag? It'd be really interesting to hear not so much what the clubs are, but how he thinks about them (7 wood only for the tee, heard mention of a couple hybrids presumably for approach, etc.) A more unique set make-up, or at least non-traditional by most standards, and how he uses them on the course could be very interesting.

I needed a 240 club to bridge the 50 yard gap between my 4 iron (220yd) and 3 wood (270yd) and my 7 wood fit perfectly. The 2 iron I couldn’t find forgiving enough and a 3 hybrid i just don’t like the look of and tend to hook them severely. Put my TS2 7wood in my hands with my Accra shaft I feel like I can conquer the world. High and straight it has become one of my most beloved clubs this season. No matter how much grief my buddies give me about having a “old man club” in my bag, I just have to smile when they are chunking 2 iron out of the fairway trying to gat a par 5 in 2, and I just swing easy and drop darts from 240 out with my trusty 7 wood.

I’m another member of Ronnie’s fan club. High shots are what golfers of a certain vintage lust after. When you can’t hit it high enough wet and/ or hilly courses can really eat up the strokes. I would say that a higher trajectory is the biggest gain for me post fitting. If Ronnie goes to Florida he should look up Adam Bazellgette he had me hitting fairway woods off the deck in 1 lesson; loft and a firm left side at impact does the trick.

Videos like this make me a bit more optimistic that when I get fit for a new set, there are gains to be made even if I don't have the fastest, prettiest swing on the golf course! Great job Ronnie!

A fitting video with so many 7 and even 9 woods seeing play on the PGA Tour at Harding Park.

Thanks for doing average golfers. This makes a difference for all of us average or lower than average golfers out there.

I need to move to Canada. Our local Golf Galaxy doesn't even come close to you guys when it comes to fitting clubs. It may be worth a trip to see you guys to get new irons. only thing is I need to renew my passport. you guys are amazing.

Gotta get Ronnie in regularly! Feels great to see an average (although very good version of 'average'!) golfer in testing out things.

Can we just all admit the SIM is the best line TM has ever released?

I love the fact that you guys rarely bash a specific club or type of club. You two may not need a 7 wood, but they will and do work for certain players or types of players and you always say that with some scenarios.

Play the Ping G410 7 Wood and love it, play it a degree strong (19.5), sits between a slightly weak 3 wood (15.5) and a 4 hybrid at 22 deg.

Lovely little draw flight from Ronnie 👍and now with an extra 20-30 yards in the bag. just goes to show the benefits to getting a manufacturer agnostic fitting by someone that knows what they're doing

Cracking video, I fit into Ronnie ‘s profile and perhaps my 20 year old 7 wood might be ready for a refresh!
