I can't even imagine being actually angry at someone for their reaction. Everyone reacts differently to different triggers. Yes, I felt that the Money Game went into a tangent, but that's what it triggered in you. Why bother watching reactions if you expect to hear the same thing over and over again?! SHEESH.
On this note, yes! This is hands down the best duet of ALL TIME (IMHO). Glad you got to it and loved it!

The harmonizing in this song are dissonant chords as you know . For some listeners who may just think they are out of tune at parts. He uses this technique (a lot) intentionally to create a feeling of awkward anxiety for the listener so they get the context that he’s trying to convey . It’s an eerie setting and it’s brilliant.

Thank you for taking some extra time at the beginning to appreciate the artistry in the MG series, and in MG3 in particular - I did find myself wishing that you spent more time talking about the intricacies of the video itself last time. Having said that, I think it's entirely appropriate for you to have a reaction to the content of the song too! I doubt that Ren's goal is just to give us pretty things (though he does do that); it's to get us thinking and communicating with one another! And look, it worked! Glad you enjoyed this one, Ren and Chinchilla are definitely amazing together - they refer to one another as "musical siblings," so no, no romance brewing that we know of. I think they're just equally passionate about music, and they bring the same kind of intensity to everything that they do. PLEASE react to Kujo Beat Down, premiering on September 5th! Never apologise for your authenticity, as Ren says a lot he’s a man of principles, each person’s principles are different, especially when it comes to politics, I’m from uk and Ik in America it’s even bigger, because it depends on your area, where you’re from, your family’s beliefs growing up, so for you to have a different view is a good thing, it allows open conversation and think from different perspectives and understand eachother, there may have been some ppl who didn’t like what you was saying but there was probably also ppl who did, or who understood your side and made them think about their own opinions, this is why Ren is so special, it’s true art, like a painting, everyone sees something different, it makes ppl feel different things

Yes it was about Joe, the first part of the song was explained in an interview, that the first part of the song was in the POV of Joe and the last bit was from Ren's ...😢😢

Ren and Chinchilla have said they are like musical siblings. I think you were referring to Ren “busking” which is like a street performance. He does some busking with his band The Big Push that are all super talented and some with Sam Thompkins who is a crazy vocalist. You should eventually check them all out. Chinchilla has some bangers 1:5(Live) is mesmerizing. Fingers (Live) is chinchilla story telling with some amazing vocals as well.
I liked this reaction much better than the previous. Our mindset when listening and watching something as long, intricate and emotional as mg3 can affect what we hear and don't hear. Beauty is in the eye and ear of the beholder. Ren's artistry provokes, challenges and confronts many of the societal, economic, political and emotional things we deal with. Ren has a viewpoint and we watch reactors to see what their viewpoint is also. There is no right or wrong reaction. It's personal and individual. Like Ren, you express strong opinions. There is plenty of light and fluffy content that avoids controversy. But that's not fun or entertaining. I appreciate your reactions.

my favorite part is when they sing in the round. it was so well done
They're doing at least one (rumoured 3) more together. They performed one at the secret garden festival so I'm really looking forward to hearing more soon :) Chinchilla, like Ren, doesn't like to stick to a genre so her style is quite varied (all of it's great though!). Some mind blowing singing songs she does are 1:5 (live), Fingers (live), Bounce Back, Elements. Simple bangers: Little Girl Gone, MF Diamond, Cut you Off. All of her stuff is amazing but those are the highlights :)
You know, two of them are mates, like siblings they say. Ren once took Daisy busking, it was the first time she did it so was very nervous, but then they had such fun out on the street and she absolutely loved it. Well... they filmed a part of it, so there is one video of them busking on Ren's YT channel, and one on Chinchilla's.
Just in case ur interested to see them live. Well... yeah, as close to live as we can.

Awesome thing that makes you ahead of the game is that you already understand the solution which is "oh well" there will always be someone who doesn't like what you say or think it's part of being human like Ren says "treat our differences with respect, tapestries are made beautiful by the variety in their parts." I have always believed that bc our unique experiences in life give only one part or filter of a much bigger picture and learning and asking questions about things you don't understand or agree with yourself can allow you to see more of the true world and definitely can build empathy and kindness. ❤ I also think chinchilla live fingers!

You got my subscription during the ramble. Really enjoyed the engaged assessment you had of the track and would say, pause more during the songs when it strikes you. There's too much happening to try and remember it all at the end, if I wanna hear the song play through, I'll give the song a watch, rather than a reaction vid.
As for Money Game, I definitely put off by what felt like a preemptive jump into the topic material and skipped the insanity that was the art that was produced.

p.s. don't be hard on yourself for reacting to what you thought an artist was trying to say lyrics-wise more than the musical composition/performance etc. Everyone has their thoughts pulled in certain directions when they hear certain words or phrases. Maybe just set an intention going into a reaction to a musical piece that you're going to be concentrating on the music/composition/performance moreso than any perceived "message" in the lyrics? ;)

Chinchilla - Fingers (Live)
I've wondered that, about their obvious connection. They call each other musical siblings. Ren obviously listens very intently to anyone he collaborates with and responds sensitively, but the eye contact here is intense, it almost feels intrusive to watch. They went busking together and filmed a couple of covers: Sexual Healing (on Chinchilla's channel) and One dance/drunk in love (on Ren's). That session seems a lot more light hearted and playful.
A couple of standout live performances from Chinchilla are her song Fingers (for HungerTV) and 1:5.

It's not going to get easier to choose the next Ren song! With him releasing new music again, I think you should intersperse reactions to his back catalog with the new releases. He has really evolved as a singer and musician. His recent collaborations with Prof (Pain Salesman) and Chris Webby (Baggage) are so very good. I think you'll REALLY appreciate Baggage, and that was released less than a week ago.

Stepping away from the topic of the song (because yeah I'm still trying to find where I left myself) and just into the performance- one of my absolute favourite things in this is that you actually get to hear Rens deep chest voice and it's fricking stunning just incredibly rich sound - I think we're just so used to hearing his upper chest, blended and head voice that when that deeper tone hits it just completely broke through for me... I'm a genetic brain weirdo and see colours in my head with sounds (Synesthesia) and that tone is pure mahogany.... take care all ye all!

Re your money game commentary - yes mentioning politics is dangerous ground particularly with the demented fervour apparent on both sides of the fence in the USA. There is just crazy stuff every day on YT - from both sides. I am glad I don't not live in the USA. Your political system that I once admired - but now seems to have degenerated into bizarre craziness. Most reactors are careful to stay clear. Lesson learnt?. I have always believed that Ren wrote this song from the perspective of Joe and Joe becoming emotionally lost before he made that tragic decision. Ren has always said Joe was the funniest person and the life of the party, without a care in the world, yet he somehow became terribly lost - I.e. "I forgot how to be me." Thanks for a nice reaction. Besides Ren and Chinchilla (Daisy) having described themselves as musical siblings, theres being a substantial age difference between them, I've heard, not sure if it's true, someone who knows more about her than I do can confirm or deny it. But word is Chinchilla is into girls. So... 😁 I'm sure they love each other very much, but not in that way.
I wanted to comment before on the money game reactions, but ended up not, probably because of what I was doing as I listened to the reactions.
But first of, it's your reaction, you don't have to vibe with it, or agree necessarily with the message, as long as you can appreciate the artistry, I'm down with you.
Second I love Ren, but I don't subscribe to his exact view point on everything, he's not the Messiah that's going to save the world. But I'll tell you what, if more people were as worried as he is about the people around him, about knitting a community, the world would be a better place.
And To be honest Ren himself isn't as anti-capitalistic as he sounds in those songs, he said as much himself, and how his views have changed somewhat over time.
What he is against is greed, is the pursuit of money above everything else, is the trampling over others, is ignoring those in need.
I agree with you, utopias are by definition impossible, and as proven by the famous rat utopia experience. We tend to blame all that's evil to human nature, but it's not it's the nature of life, all life, not just humans. But as humans we can strive for something better, we can try to approach that utopia, knowing we won't quite get it and that's actually a good thing, because utopias are actually bad.
One thing I love about Ren is that he isn't just stuck in his ideas, but he is open to dialogue. Some time back, he did something he knew it would be very unpopular with some of his fans (it was). He challenged everyone in the comments of a community post he did, to have a frank discussion about 3 hot topics, just make your arguments, no getting angry or personal with anyone were the rules. The topics were if I'm not mistaken, abortion, trans issues and immigration (might be wrong on the last one). Immediately people attacked him for proposing the discussion, apparently he was promoting violence and other such nonsense. He didn't even said what he himself thought on those issues, not at that point and I didn't follow it so I don't know if he did later. But that alone got some people upset, others praised him for his courage of course. But to me what I love about him the most is no matter how his opinions differ from someone else, he's willing to have the conversation.
Please don’t think that you have to censor your opinions to please others. It’s really important to be able to disagree on topics and reflect on others opinions. Otherwise we will all get stuck with shitty believes.
