I'm on bayou Des allemands an the water is already high at the top of my bulkhead in yard now from all the wind an rain previous week ...but I always ride them out I was here for ida an it was terrible I've rode out all storms here for the past 20 plus years I been here praying for all an asking for prayers as well

People really do forget how Katrina completely obliterated the Mississippi gulf coast . Both Camille and Katrina, 2 of the most terrible hurricanes to ever hit US soil both made landfall on Bay St Louis/ Pass Christian coast .
Yes!! I was 13 when her eye came right over my town in Hancock county. The Kiln to be specific. Luckily my parents shielded us from what was actually happening. We knew it was a hurricane but didn't understand how bad it would be. I was terrified but we stayed in a closet until it was over. But when we saw everything gone I understood what happened. Everything was just gone. It's truly a shock to your entire world. People who have never been through that don't understand what it does to you. I can't imagine being an adult today with my babies and having to relive a Katrina type scenario. 🙏 No way I could stay. Luckily this one is a small storm.
It looked like a nuclear bomb was dropped on the coast! We was 50 miles inland just south of Hattiesburg. We got a lot of wind damage but we didnt have to go threw that 28ft storm surge. I couldn't imagine

I have been watching Mr. Shields for some time now. In my opinion he produces the best weather information with accuracy and explainin it in simple terms that we can understand and prepare. Thank you. I hope and pray, and ask God to protect the folks who are now dealing with Francine.
