This is my 9th year. Had a problem and hit that shit hard, of the almost hobo variety. Quit September 2011. Best thing ever. And I'll say you have to put in the work. It's more about reference points than time. First time you go out without booze, first time you dance, approach, pull, go on holiday. Build up a brick wall of experience. First six months, weird. First year, tough. But soon you feel yourself get strong, clear, sweet, dynamic. After a few years alcohol won't even cross your mind.
Sasha is right. Can't have a spiritual path with alcohol on board.

I stopped smoking weed yesterday too. On nofap for over a year as well. I'm researching workout and diet plans to kick off the new year. Great video, I won't be drinking much ever again. 2 drinks to show respect for the cheers at most but that's it.

February will mark ONE YEAR sober from both drink and drugs - ironically enough, this decision was made during a three week stay in an outdoor hippie squat in Portugal. I had already been progressively reducing substance misuse, but participating in waking and baking (and raving on the evenings) made me feel so sick and question the people I was hanging around with - did I really want to waste my potential and end up in the ganja hole? Hell no! Raising those vibes with each drink denied (and a hell of a lot of inner and outer work)!

There's no comparison between someone who can't help but get shltfaced, and someone who, only a few times a year has a beer or two or a glass of wine for a slight buzz.

I get shitfaced at least once a week. I don't plan on getting shitfaced, but once I start it's hard to stop. I'm always more drunk than I realize.
I don't consider myself an alcoholic cause I don't drink every day. I don't drink so that I socialize more, but so that I ENJOY socializing more.
Came to this vid cause I do have an open mind, but it didn't really convince me. Alcohol is awesome.

It's a way of being you can tap into. Mainly, your brain comes up with all kinds of stories which are linked to certain emotions. When you feel the emotions, you enter a loop that reinforces itself. The loop makes you less adaptable, you need ways to get out of it to be able to associate with different stories or none at all.
How do you get out of the mind's grip?
There are many things that help. I'll just sum up some
      - microdosing or high dose Psilocybin (evidence supporting new neural growth with it and essentially hitting (in hippie words) a kind ofmild 'reset button' for fear based response. Also new insights and the ability to accept them as your new reality (neuteral growth combined with synergestic brain communication)
      - vipassana meditation (to get out of loops)
      - a meditation that connects you with different states of being (look up shae's inner game meditation')
That way you can switch your mood a bit when you are in an undesired state. For example ask yourself : 'how would I feel when I felt very good', grasp that feeling and play with it. Your brain will learn but it seems pointless in the beginning.
      - books like 'waking Up' by Sam Harris to reframe ideas quickly.
      - activities that force you to face your mind f.e. Fitness (also releases endorphins)

      @AlexanderLasarev  4 года назад +1

Trust me, there's a way to get rid of those mental blocks/doubts etc without the substances...... Sure plant medicine could help but I don't think it's necessary for this - not for most people... just depends if you get that internal call...attaining Social freedom helps a LOT, did you get my book about that? :) link in description!

I've stopped for months at a time but I always give in on dates with a hot girl from daygame. Not because I'm nervous (I love sober dates too) but many girls in NYC like to drink and I feel I'll be perceived as socially awkward if I don't join in. Any advice on getting over this? It's the only thing that keeps me drinking, which I know is sad.

    • @sensational136

You know the answer. Stop valuing other opinions over your own. Why are u doing something you don't wanna do. You can acknowledge the fear / nervousness on the date. Just tell her your emotions. She will open up even more after this. Trust me.
