The raid calling was really good. People don't understand how much your nerves get through to you when you are actually playing at this level. Having a raid caller frantically spam what you have to do in your ear eliminates doubt and overrides your nerves. If he was like "push now!" once there is a good chance people would push for 2 seconds and then default to randomness again. Edit: Ofc it's personal preference as well but I'd probably never leave a high performing guild with a caller like this, it's worth the entire guild weight in gold
There is a step 'even further beyond' where every party member, clan member, alliance member, know their roles so well and what the others are gonna do, that you don't even need voice coms or typing words anymore to perform at that level. I've been lucky enough to be part of such a group back in lineage 2 days and I still miss it almost 20 years later.
Shotcallers that legit do not shut up and overwhelm people with orders are the WORSE ones. If you already told people to engage, you don't need to scream different variations of "move in" over and over. And somehow it's always the people with the most annoying voices that shotcall.
Shot caller/leader is the hardest job in these GvG games. Make one mistake and everyone is dead. If you play that role, you need to be very critical of yourself to improve before you criticize your players. Also, don't insult people for making mistakes or they just won't come back. Remember PvP is not the main appeal for most people. This is looking very similar to GW2 WvWvW and Albion Online GvG (crafting/economy aside)

Absolutely. I've ran with some awful shot callers and some amazing shot callers. Luckily, one of the best shot callers I ever played with in GW2 WvW, who led us to even big wins against big BG zergs is going to the same server I'm going to, so it's a win/win. Very excited to have that feeling back.

Is the shortage of healing because it is difficult for a dedicated healer to participate in any non group content? Like small scale or 1v1? With how difficult it is to level up gear I would imagine most people don't want to commit resources to healing when they could be doing damage instead. I am fully invested into Wand/Bow either way. Heal or No Deal for me.

Staff/dagger and bow/dagger. On my server both classes compete for top kills consistently. Bow/staff can also compete easily, but you need a guild with a very good size front line that are also good.

I need new guild for PVP lol. My current guild thinks their #1 on my server just because they won 2 GvG against low level guilds. But when any actual PVP fights happen for world bosses they just get stomped and cry that we were just outnumbered the whole time. My shot callers only call he ever makes is just "Push in and use flash wave, push in and use flash wave." Like I'm a tank I don't have flash wave XD. And for real it works when we fight low level guilds that only have 8k HP on their members and they die in 1 hit, but man when he does it against the actual PVP guilds that have gear we just get steam rolled in seconds then he never waits for us to regroup before trying to push in again. Funny last conflict we did my shot caller told us to loop around boss for Aelon and push in on the other side, but moment he made that call the other group pushed into us and someone in our discord tried to tell him and he just started flaming that guy and everyone that was killed by the enemy's push. Honestly haven't bothered to go into my own guild's discord sense shit got stupidly toxic fast cause guy can't get off his high horse to admit when he wrong.

Communications were a bit much, couldn't you just split team leads into a main call with the shotcaller and teams with their respective leads in another call (i.e. breakout rooms like with Zoom)? Likewise, instead of repeating himself so much three-way communication would be easier (when addressing specific leads) and less chaotic. Other than that the game looks pretty hype.
EXACTLY!!! Main shotcaller should only be for over all strategy (2 team split, one goes point 4 while the other goes 7, etc.) and not second by second play

If you need to be constantly yelling, either your team has no idea what they are doing or you don't know how to comunicate/properly set up comms - i.e breakout rooms, discord stage+squad channels, etc. Imagine if someone on your team yelled like this in a League fo Legends/Dota competitive match, everyone would mute you.
@@kabagocan Comming the same shotcall several times is pretty common in high level play, especially when you either have a lot of people listening to your calls (like here 50+ ppl, in top BDO guilds the shotcalling style was quite similar to this) or when the games tend to be more chaotic and a lot of stuff is happening (apex legends for example). You can't really compare this type of shotcalling to your average league game you play with your friends. In games like this you want to make sure as a shotcaller that all of the 50 people heard your call and don't act on their own. If 20 of those people push just a bit too far, because they thought your call from 10 seconds ago wasn't relevant anymore, then it might be a lost fight. If you repeat the comm until you comm something else, then it's very obvious to all 50 players what the current plan is. With large player numbers like this, the most important factor is that everyone listens to the calls, whether those are good or bad calls. He never called to overcommit, his timing for push calls wasn't bad at all, so I'd say he's quite a good shotcaller. I'd also say most people won't be able to do anything close to his level of shotcalling (myself included, I would suck at this). It's also a lot of pressure on the shotcaller, if the shotcaller fucks up, everyone dies, if any individual player fucks up, most likely they are the only one dying. If you're indecisive as a shotcaller that can also result in your group getting wiped. Lots of factors, overall he did a good job.

It's also a lot of pressure on the shotcaller, if the shotcaller fucks up, everyone dies, if any individual player fucks up, most likely they are the only one dying. If you're indecisive as a shotcaller that can also result in your group getting wiped. Lots of factors, overall he did a good job.

That’s not a problem. If the game doesn’t fit in your life style move on. I don’t know how much time you need for an event like this but I guess it’s not a sidejob.
It’s the difference between being competitive and not. So if you enjoy GvG where you go and die but say “well we had fun” then stay casual.

It needs to be. We unlock the options at level 1 but we sit can't move the HUD around.
