Michael Finley BEST Highlights with the Mavs (1996-2005) - DYNAMIC OFFENSIVE FORCE

  • An incredible scorer who could beat his defenders in all sorts of ways. Not only was Finley a good outside shooter, but he was also known as an explosive finisher at the rim. His moves on offense (especially his mid-range game) were very Jordan-esque. The younger fans are probably not very familiar with him but that's what this video is for.

Thats literally what I visualize when I think about him. Dude exploded off of the jumpstop like no other.
He had a game vs mj....think it was his first matchup with him as a rookie, where he went toe to toe with MJ... He looked like MJ at times. But he was making plays too. He made similar passes to the post and cross court that LeBron makes.
Michael Finley is vastly underrated. I loved the Mavs, but sometimes I wish he could have been more of a centerpiece...imagine if he were on the Sonics in place of Ray... Wow, that means Ray would be on the mavs with Dirk and Steve. That wouldbe beautiful... I MISS THE EARLY LATE 90S AND EARLY 2000S! This might have been the Nbas prime. I wish LeBron and KD could have played back then.

Michael Finley's game was beauty. Very underrated offensive shootout star. Very explosive, scoring ability was so fluid with agility, well-composed shot release, very smooth. Great leadership as well. Without him, I don't think Dirk Nowitzki would've been the great star he became without his professionalism and team playing alongside. He was the foundational seed of the Mavs transcending culture.

So underrated!! He took on a mentor role to Steve and Dirk while in Dallas.. Dirk shouted him out in his HOF speech, and Thanked him for mentoring him and Nash.. Tony Parker also shouted him out as his BEST teammate!! Despite only being there for a few years! This man CHOSE to take a behind the scenes role and STILL could get out and give you 30 if need be!! This man had a SOLID career.. Maybe not HOF, but DEFINITELY a big part of many HOF players careers!

Finley should be in the Hall Of Fame. He was one of the best players ever. I rank him in the top 10 all time for SG's. got him around 8th, However if just counting Primes He is probably the 5th best SG ever. Cuban was so stupid to not keep him on the Team. He should've retired a Maverick around 2011. Sure by then in that era and the way he played 48 minutes every play he might have been about 11-12 ppg per game but Still He would've been a good Leader for the Team. They would've easily won a A 2 Titles.

Prototypical 2-guard. I love the Macs...a lot. But, sometimes i wish he was on a team that played D and built around him his entire career.
If Finley played today he would be between PG and Kawhi on the list of best wings.
Imagine prime Finley on the Spurs in place of Derozen...hell, if you replace Derozen with Finley on the Raps with Lowry, I think they could possibly beat the Cavs and go to the finals.... This dude is arguably the most underrated player of the era.
Kuminga reminds me of him, but is taller and more of a 3. I could see Kuminga growing and possibly even being a 4 on a small team when hes in his prime.
But, plays physical or plays with finesse, elite athleticism, goes left, goes right, makes plays, posts up, shoots over, shoots from mid range, nails turnarounds, can be one-manbreak, moves without the ball, puts you on a poster, PLAYS WITH CONSISTENCY (You hear me JR Smith?)....its rare to have these qualities. Most that do are superstars. Finley was....off topic, but Kuminga can be.
