Michael Finley BEST Highlights with the Mavs (1996-2005) - DYNAMIC OFFENSIVE FORCE

- An incredible scorer who could beat his defenders in all sorts of ways. Not only was Finley a good outside shooter, but he was also known as an explosive finisher at the rim. His moves on offense (especially his mid-range game) were very Jordan-esque. The younger fans are probably not very familiar with him but that's what this video is for.

FINLEY SOMEONE POST FINLEY VIDEO
SUPERSTAR THAT WAS CAPTAIN OF DALLAS PPL WHO SAID HE WASNT SUPERSTAR WERE BLIND DONT KNOW NBA OR BORN IN 2000 ERA
Facts
So underrated. If anybody played like a little MJ and Bryant its Michael Finley!
mf got to play horse and 1 on 1 with mj in highschool..def learned from him and studied him
You mean like MJ😂 Bryant is playing like MJ himself. That's not his style
I said Ant Edwards plays like Michael Finley and a little bit Kobe.
I don't think people realize just how good Finley was in his prime.
They dont ima do a video on him today
He was on the1st team ever for Jordan Brand...Fin was a monster
I'm just realizing that fact
I had a jersey but the one after “HE” blew and NOT THE ONE HE BLEW UP IN (00-01)
Not talked about enough. Wish he had a ring.
One of my all time favorite players...
Nearly unstoppable when he got hot.
The most under rated in your face dunker ever. This is Vince, Jordan like. Crazy.
One of the most underrated Players of all time.
Michael Finley wasn't considered to be in the upper echelon but he was very underrated. He had no fear going against the top guards in the league and that made him dangerous!
One dribble, and a jump stop, get outta the way, great athlete, used MJs trainer. Would lead league in minutes, animal.
He was just fantastic!
Thats literally what I visualize when I think about him. Dude exploded off of the jumpstop like no other.
He had a game vs mj....think it was his first matchup with him as a rookie, where he went toe to toe with MJ... He looked like MJ at times. But he was making plays too. He made similar passes to the post and cross court that LeBron makes.
Michael Finley is vastly underrated. I loved the Mavs, but sometimes I wish he could have been more of a centerpiece...imagine if he were on the Sonics in place of Ray... Wow, that means Ray would be on the mavs with Dirk and Steve. That wouldbe beautiful... I MISS THE EARLY LATE 90S AND EARLY 2000S! This might have been the Nbas prime. I wish LeBron and KD could have played back then.
Beautiful jump shot I swear
Honestly didnt know he was that good. Wow.
Lol I'm glad that you watched the video then :)
He was a star before Nowitzki!
@@PandaHank41 he got even better highlights then this they took a of them down in I don't know why.
SUPERSTAR THAT WAS CAPTAIN OF DALLAS PPL WHO SAID HE WASNT SUPERSTAR WERE BLIND DONT KNOW NBA OR BORN IN 2000 ERA
My second favorite Mav from that era after Dirk. That whole team complimented each other offensively so well.
Just look how hard defense was back then. Finley scoring wasn't easy as today's basketball.
Early 2000s NBA had the toughest defense overall.
The first video a 7 footer literally is ducking his head 😂
They didn't put him on team Jordan for nothing
Exaactly! Such a great scorer! love his jump shot release. very fluid
One of my favorite all time players. He had a 95 rating when nba 2k first came out and that's what got me into the mavs. I hope he makes HOF but he doesn't have many accolades 2x Allstar nba champ but his game speaks for itself
I’m a bit older then you but he was unstoppable in nba live
It was really Finleys team early 2000s even when dirk was there
Facts #1 Option
Damn that turnaround fadeaway on Rodman...
One of the most underrated players ever
Very Vince Carter-like
First step is crazy
Attacks the rim with ease
Rhythm long range shooter
All facts!
@@PandaHank41 Love the video. I was hoping you would have added finley's dunk over the top of Yao ming. It was insane. Great vid either way. Fin has always been my favorite other than Tim Duncan (spurs fan here)
@@kylemonsterdrywallfistbump5948 Thank you! Glad you loved it! Yeah I should've included that one. I might make a part two one day!
@@PandaHank41 cool. And add some spurs highlights as well maybe!! 👌
Dude is on MY Rushmore, big fan here!
Low-key a little more Jordan like than Kobe in terms of game and build.
Kawhi
Here after watching a clip of MJ beating Mike Finley in a game of horse and 1 on 1 to 3 points when Finley was in High School
yessir!
same
Another one here happy for him,he looked humble. As young kid with mj
Me too....knew him before that this era was when i started paying to the NBA for REAL as a young teen....but it re reminded me of Finley and I had to go back and see his talent through my eyes now as a man.
Smoothest Jumpshot
So underrated and unappreciated.
He was the best player on that Mavs team that had Dirk and Nash on it until about the 2001-2002 season
Underrated af
Michael Finley's game was beauty. Very underrated offensive shootout star. Very explosive, scoring ability was so fluid with agility, well-composed shot release, very smooth. Great leadership as well. Without him, I don't think Dirk Nowitzki would've been the great star he became without his professionalism and team playing alongside. He was the foundational seed of the Mavs transcending culture.
This man Finley was a demon
So underrated!! He took on a mentor role to Steve and Dirk while in Dallas.. Dirk shouted him out in his HOF speech, and Thanked him for mentoring him and Nash.. Tony Parker also shouted him out as his BEST teammate!! Despite only being there for a few years! This man CHOSE to take a behind the scenes role and STILL could get out and give you 30 if need be!! This man had a SOLID career.. Maybe not HOF, but DEFINITELY a big part of many HOF players careers!
Finley should be in the Hall Of Fame. He was one of the best players ever. I rank him in the top 10 all time for SG's. got him around 8th, However if just counting Primes He is probably the 5th best SG ever. Cuban was so stupid to not keep him on the Team. He should've retired a Maverick around 2011. Sure by then in that era and the way he played 48 minutes every play he might have been about 11-12 ppg per game but Still He would've been a good Leader for the Team. They would've easily won a A 2 Titles.
Better than Shawn Marion. One of my favorite Spurs players ever. I thought Kawhi was going to be like him but Kawhi just exploded into superstardom.
I think Finley and kawhi play alike
Animalic dunk plus angel touch layup n humane jump shot finley^^♥
they say one of the things that separated Jordan from the rest was how quick he jumped. This dude Finley may have Jordan matched on that. I should add I'm from the Chi and a die hard Bulls fan
First clip just sent me chills.
Maywood,IL legend 🐐
Imagine Dallas never trading Kidd and made a big 3 of Kidd, Finley, and Dirk. I think they get atleast 1 chip maybe even 2.
Finley was in the trade for Kidd.
@@Clayjoy42 nope
@@jarrettthomas4865 Yes
Finley was a MENACE!! Jordan’esque. He needs to be spoke of more in media.
One of the most beautiful jumpshots ever
Prototypical 2-guard. I love the Macs...a lot. But, sometimes i wish he was on a team that played D and built around him his entire career.
If Finley played today he would be between PG and Kawhi on the list of best wings.
Imagine prime Finley on the Spurs in place of Derozen...hell, if you replace Derozen with Finley on the Raps with Lowry, I think they could possibly beat the Cavs and go to the finals.... This dude is arguably the most underrated player of the era.
Kuminga reminds me of him, but is taller and more of a 3. I could see Kuminga growing and possibly even being a 4 on a small team when hes in his prime.
But, plays physical or plays with finesse, elite athleticism, goes left, goes right, makes plays, posts up, shoots over, shoots from mid range, nails turnarounds, can be one-manbreak, moves without the ball, puts you on a poster, PLAYS WITH CONSISTENCY (You hear me JR Smith?)....its rare to have these qualities. Most that do are superstars. Finley was....off topic, but Kuminga can be.
He was a Highlight Reel all the Time. Miss 90's Basketball. He plays Shooting Guard like Kemp played PF.
Mavs in the early 00s were so cold they just lacked on the defensive end but were so electric on offense…also kept running into great teams in the playoffs
so so so underrated.
just for the initiated.
One of the forgotten. He was fricken boss.
Beautiful video!! Great work
Thanks bro! It's honestly not my best work but I'll keep it up and do better haha
Glad Mark repaid Fin making him our assistant GM
Here after the Knuckleheads interview
Mark Cuban should retire his number 4 Jersey, he was the heart and soul of the Mavericks for so many years before Nash and Nowitzi got there .
He came same year as Nash. He was more like the glue that held Nash an Nowitzki together
And was definitely the best athlete of the three
this was every play for Finley Finley truly one of the top 5 "In Game Dunkers"
why is he not a hall of fame ??
Accolade
He was great player and so athletic.
My favorite player playing ps. Man is a high flyer!
Super fun to watch.
Damn Finley moves and movement was looking a little like MJ and kobe
The definition of “don’t let me get to my spot”
His Jordan PE shoe game was crazy🔥🔥🔥
This was a cold brotha right here extremely underrated to the new generation but us who was there knows how nice this man was…
I miss the Finley, Nowitski, and Nash years on the Mavs. All 3 were great players and they were all great people off the court as well. I really wish they would have won a Championship together before they were split up.
💯💯💯🔥🔥🔥🗣️🗣️🗣️
Crazy to see how basketball evolved. There are numerous moments where I expected him to make a 3-point-shot, yet he drives to the basket.
Underrated af.
The next 2 jerseys that needs to be retired are 41 & 4
A lot of people are currently comparing Anthony Edwards to Michael Jordan, but my first thought when I started watching ANT was this guy reminds me a lot of Michael Finley
That cross on MJ left him on another planet
One of the coldest crossovers I’ve ever seen had buddy in the fetal position 6:30
my favourite guy to use on NBA Live haha
do u mean certain or all nba live games
I am so glad I used custom teams in the playoffs on the ps1 versions of nba live 2000 + 2001 led by wilt chamberlain + bill russell
I still have the Finley dunk contest card from the event it’s pretty good lol
Me too
One of the most exciting player from year 2000'
Before Anthony Edwards, the NBA had Micheal Finley 🏀🏀🔥🔥
Kendall gill too
I came here to see after the beer thing with Luka .. Vim aqui ver depois do lance da cerveja com Luka..
In todays League he would be the MVP. He played in the Golden Era of Athletic Shooting Guards on Real 10 Foot Rims with a Real 29.5 Basketball. He would average 30 todays Golden Era of SG's Jordan, Kobe, Finley, Drexler, Penny, Carter, Miller, Jones, Majerle, Richmond, Sprewell, Allen
MJ + Kobe + Mcgrady = Finley
Micheal Finley was great in Dallas Mavs with Steve Nash Mr. D.N 41 thoughs years lead to THE MAVS to 2006yr to 2011yrs NBA CHAMPIONS .. Finley was good at Sun's, Mavs& Squrs HE always a TEAM PLAYER TOO. GREAT CAREER.
LaMelo remind me so much of Finley in terms of his explosiveness and passing skills.
My favorite mavs player
Underrated
His game was like a less finesse version of Mike and Kobe who can't jump on 1 foot
Finley will always be A Dallas Maverick
When Finley was in high school, jordan used to invite him to workouts
Under rated
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯!PeriodT!! Yes with the T.
Michael Finely Jerry Stackhouse
He is Legend.
🐐
He was the proto type Kobe MJ VC TMac
My favorite player of all time. Underrated IMO. FinDog was a problem.
Finley could flat out ball 🏀
Dude was the business
Finley is incredible
Epic
2:15-2:19 Finley was in his own league😮
*People forgot about Finely.*
My favorite Mav right after Dirk.
Man Finley
A top 5 Shooting Guard EVER!!!!
My first jersey was of his for the Suns...then he got traded to Dallas!
Finely was a beast
Another Jordan baby...lol
Just came here to see if he was good enough to take Luka beer lol he good
He plays like Jordan. I am new to this man. Can somebody tell why he didnt end up as one of the greats???
Whos here after he snatched lukas beer
back when NBA was a great league with huge players. nowadays they are full of themselves and their egos
I'm glad we finally got our ring in 2011, but Dallas really fucked up in the early 2000s with Steve and Michael.
People only remember Kobe VC Tmac Ai Ray Allen pierce (meh). But Finley Stackhouse were all ballin too. Ah the age of SGs
He played like Kobe.😎😎
*like Jordan
more on MJ + MCGRADY
10:30 great fake
Michael Finley equals, Jordanesque and Bryantesque to me 🤔!
Mr Maverick.
