Lots of wrong info around the 20 minute mark with the badge inscribed Baron de Worms. It was an Austrian title, so pronounced more like ‘Vormz’. The first Baron, Solomon, moved his family to England and died in 1882, so the date 1874 means the badge was his. He wasn’t childless, he was succeeded by his son George as 2nd Baron, whose son Anthony, 3rd baron, renounced the title in 1920. The 1st baron had another son, Henry, and he’s the one who was an MP. He was granted a British title, Baron Pirbright, and he had 3 daughters but no male heir to his title.. But he was never Baron de Worms.
Simon is right, if you want to make money you have to spend it. I think £5,000 is the most I have seen a dealer put on the table ???. I bet he was sweating bullets the gold price didn't go down.
That lady who is so sweet and probably never spoken up for herself having to ask for a bit more was humiliating for her. Really don’t care for the dealer.
He pays £5000 walks down to the bullion office to collect £5450 easiest £450 he will ever make but the guy himself could have walked down the bullion office to get £5450 so he lost £450 but going on the show
I would have taken my chances with those dominoes at auction.
I love the real deal, finding out about old items like David dickinson lol
25:93 the glass dome and the stand without the clock is £100 all day.
