I have heard this one dozens of times and I still cry every time.

"There's gonna be a time when it turns out right, but it ain't tonight, and that's all right." That line guts me every time. Avi validates the listener's pain, but says it is okay, there is hope for the future, because there is a healing.

Absolutely. I don't think there was any doubt that that line hit me either. So amazing.
He sings in a way that conveys the feeling of familiarity, and while he's singing he basically says to you "I know how this feels, I've been there. And you're safe to feel that way with me" and I love it.

Avi is a stellar songwriter as well as a stunning vocalist! What makes it so powerful is the authenticity in the delivery. I enjoyed your reaction. Cheers!

I still can't quite figure out how Avi's relatively simple words and music manage to have so much power to elicit emotion. Some of it is the writing - managing to say so much with few words. I know a lot of it is that magnificent voice that draws out every nuance of meaning from each word. Somehow, even the saddest of his songs tends to tease the slightest glimmer of hope. This song seems designed to provoke those needed cleansing tears.

He is truly an amazing artist, and as you say can manage to put so much into his music. And I think that the fact that he makes the music sound "so simple" only enhances the message he bring. These lyrics probably wouldn't have the same impact had he made a complex song with loads of stuff going on at the same time.
It was such a great song, and I love it.

I bawled the first time I heard this and I had been listening to all of his teasers. I still wasn't prepared for all of the emotions I felt. This is why I love music so much, especially Avi's. His music just hits differently!

It really does, and this one so much more than any other so far. Really amazing.
I cut away about a minute after the song was over before I managed to actually start talking.

Your reaction of shivers & tears is exactly how I felt- WOW indeed. Avi has an incredible poetic ability to write honest & vulnerable lyrics that just touch you deep in your soul. We all have struggled with pain, and Avi has the ability to bring hope in the midst of pain. Thank you for reacting to this Beautiful song. 👏🎶

Thank you for reacting to yet another of my recommendations😊 It’s easy to suggest amazing songs as that’s what Avi does, gives us amazing songs. His music has helped me heal and I love it all.
Another song that will hit you in the feels is the both haunting and hauntingly beautiful “He don’t love you right” (lyrics video).
Look forward to tomorrow’s reaction to “When I’m a fool”!

You're very welcome. You keep bringing awesome suggestions. Although. Eventually I'll think you just want to see me cry on camera ;)
      (I'm fine with that. haha)
Thanks, that one wasn't on my list, but now it is.
      I think you'll like tomorrow's reaction.

@@ThalesMusicCornerMaybe that’s because you’d see my tears if you could turn the camera😊 I think you can listen to “I’m only getting started” without crying - it has a beautiful black and white video and is sort of a sequel to “Change on the rise”.

I very much agree with Dorrit about "He Don't Love You Right". The first time I heard it and every time since, it hit a deep personal note in me from a relationship many years ago. Many of Avi's songs do that for people.

Always amazed by how powerful Avi's lyrics are. He speaks about his writing being very personal to him, yet at the same time we can all relate to the song. Can't wait for the next reaction.

You're very welcome. I cut a long period of my reaction, just sitting in silence, after the song to shorten the video a bit. Took me a good while to be able to (partially) talk. It was really a great song

This song took a different turn in the recording process than any of those involved, including Avi, ever expected. Here it is in Avi's own words: ruclips.net/user/shortsxTd7_18EaeA

That's awesome. Thank you for this.
What he experienced there is not only true for performing music, but so many things. It's really hard to recreate something that was created with so much feeling, and perhaps more often than not the initial version will be the best just because it's so honest and raw.

    Just letting you know...
Geoff Castellucci is premiering his new video.... Unshaken.... Today at noon est.
He brought back the 4 ghost riders from Ghost Riders In The Sky when they were still alive.
This is undeniably beautiful and epic.
