Redline Reviews....how different it was back then! Anyway you can consider bringing back older model car reviews to the channel. Right now it's just focused on new, but there'll always be buyers in the used car market and doing reliability videos etc would be great!
Just wanted to point out something you said that was incorrect. Both the "SE" and "SL" packages are available with leather. It isn't required to "upgrade" to SL in order to get leather. I love these VQ motors, and one of the thing that draws me to the Altima is that it shares so many materials with the Infiniti G series, namely the gaugages, directional and wiper stalks, and it's still available with BOSE. Just makes it feel more sophisticated IMO.
I wish the following gen had shared the same trans. I have an 08 SE with the 3.5 and I put leather in it from a donor car. I feel like i’m just waiting for my cvt to go though.
I currently own a 07 2.5 S currently with 51k miles & I love it. Very fun car, bought it used 2 years ago with 35k miles, but I really want a 3.5 & I'm hoping to buy one sometime in the near future. I test drove the new 2013 3.5 a few months ago & it's amazing. The 3.5's are very rare on the road, at least where I live.
Correction the altima 3.5 se does come with leather seats, it’s a option, not just the sl model with leather. I own that exact car and trim with leather upholstery.
I currently own an 05 Altima S.E. it came with Manual transmission and leather seats. In the vid you said that only the SL came with leather but that is incorrect
I love this car. My Dad's girlfriend had one, same year and same engine..my god that thing will get up and go when you punch it. And I lovethe way it looks
Hey Sofyan I was stalking the Jerry's site and noticed you guys have a LOADED 05 Jetta is there any chance you could get a video of it? Also I was laughing my ass off at the ice cream truck music starting around 1:20 XD
I have the 2003 3.5SE model and I love it. I just hate the cheap looking interior and wish it was an all-wheel drive. It's too much power for a front-wheel drive.
I like this Altima over the newer one. I like the fact it has the 5 speed auto and not that soul draining CVT. A smooth 6 speed auto shifts seamless enough and can provide good fuel economy so why a CVT in a sporty sedan?
It should be noted that the four-cylinder models from this third-generation (MY 2002-2006) are to be avoided. The QR25DE is not a very reliable or well-designed motor. What happened with a lot of these models is the catalytic converter would fail, and damaged catalyst substrate would get sucked into the engine and intake manifold. This would score the piston rings and cause excess oil consumption. Sentras from this time that used the QR25DE (SE-R and SE-R SpecV if my memory serves me correclty) had the same issue. If you get an Altima from this generation, the ones with the VQ35 V6 like what Sofyan showed are pretty reliable. Just steer VERY clear of the four-cylinder models.
We owned a 05 Altima S brand new, than sold it to an older cousin and not even after 3 years of ownership the transmission failed, I believe there was a recall on 05s and 06s. She had to deal with other problems also, she had electrical problems with the gauges and sensors. The car was never abused, luckily her father(uncle) is a mechanic and fixed it. I dislike the way they appear when passengers are in the back, the rear of the car sits very low.
this guy doesn't even understand where the punchy engine stands out. this car is QUICK. use the semi manual mode and launch it. 0-60 is QUICK. I have one and I joke it's a jet taking off
I own a 05 2.5SL and and very disappointed with the lack of headroom. I am 5 feet 10 inches tall and feel like I don't have enough headroom in this car. Mine is also equipped with a sunroof which may be part of the problem.
The 2002 - 2004's aren't that bad. I have a 2003 Altima 3.5 SE and love it. Very fun to drive and in the 11 years I have had it, no major problems besides major oil consumption. However, Nissan could have done better with the interior. I mean really? My dash started cracking only at four years old plus the interior is slightly on the ugly side in my opinion. Other than that, it's an awesome car! The only time I drive it, is when I want to have fun.
Plenty of aftermarket ways to get what you want. Just look around. Not getting the car of your dreams just because you can't connect your phone is a poor excuse, IMO, especially since it's...you know...2014...
What do you mean? I guess you're questioning the durability and reliability of Altimas? Well from personal experience, I have no complains what so ever.
I used to have one of these! Although mine was the more luxury-oriented 3.5SL. Quick car, definitely, but it was just too big for me. The turning circle was bloody awful and I averaged 21 MPG on a good day :P
Sigh. It seems like you cannot watch a Nissan video anymore without at least 5 comments about the damn CVT. I just wonder if anyone of the people criticizing have at least driven one to be able to judge? Anyway, these are pretty nice cars and were the second best in class imo after the Accord. And pretty much one of the main cars that saved Nissan after Renault bought part of it.
This one is quite dated , but no one seams to like the Camry for a long time , I think the people that buy them are people who care only about reliability and space. My friend had one new and hated it. Thank´s
I really don't like the interior or exterior styling, cvt or blandness in the styling. But the engine is in 3rd place behind the Camry and Accord V6 IMO.
I owned an '02 SE (with leather seats), you must become ONE with the slosh and see gear shifting. First gear goes 0 to 65 KPH if you redline it, you don't even need to shift to beat 90% of other cars in streets races
at time index 3:32 there is a button positioned inside of the glovebox chamber to the left. Does anyone know what that button is? I;ve paused it, but still cannot determine its function!
I really don't like these altimas. Headlights always get yellow, the taillights sometimes gets yellow, and overall it just looks boring and weird. I might say the 2013 Altima is nice but it's still kind of boring and it's a CVT.
Idk i had a 03 camry a problem everyother day. Had an 05 maxima for almost 2 years still running strong it comes down to if you get a good solid vehicle or a lemon
I drive a 07 2.5 S I've owned for 3 years so far & it's an amazingly fun car! Has a great balance of everything! Planning to keep it for at least 3 more years.
They're really good cars with a nice balance of everything & they're more sporty than the current ones, but they can have problems with the CVT overheating. That happened with mine & had to replace it at only 54k miles, but under warranty. Nissan extended the warranty to 10 years 120k miles. I actually got rid of mine last year & bought a 2015 Toyota Camry XSE V6.

Nissans and Infinities age sooooo beautifully
Nissans are rolling buckets of junk with horrible interiors.

i fkd 6 bit ches and multiple hookers in the Altima 3.5 SE
back in O9 , good times mAaAn

Just bought an 06 3.5s from a used dealer and so far im loving it
Nope, this is before Nissan went the CVT route. It has a conventional 5AT
What is a conventional 5AT
@@jenniferhill8776 5 speed auto
And it was a very spunky transmission for a commuter car, helped push power out of the V6 pretty well.
Correction the altima 3.5 se does come with leather seats, it’s a option, not just the sl model with leather. I own that exact car and trim with leather upholstery.
Video is 6yrs old and the car was 6 yrs old when this video came out and it's a 2006 Altima
666 confirmed
The 05 Jetta sold today unfortunately :( It was supposed to be filmed tomorrow lol
DONT EVER CALL MY CAR A WALL FLOWER AGAIN
Hey just in case you forgot, your car's a wallflower.
Oh yeah your car is a wall flower Incase you forgot
Go kick some rocks.
I currently own an 05 Altima S.E. it came with Manual transmission and leather seats. In the vid you said that only the SL came with leather but that is incorrect

What's with the ice cream truck at Jerry's lot? It seems like it's just you there.
Very nice!!! That V6 makes a decent sound.
And, I really like your camera mount.
I am loving the ice cream man in the background
Nice Review Of 2006 Nissan Altima. 😁
Hey Sofyan I was stalking the Jerry's site and noticed you guys have a LOADED 05 Jetta is there any chance you could get a video of it? Also I was laughing my ass off at the ice cream truck music starting around 1:20 XD

should definitely do the SE-R model
Should be here by the end of the month
Great reviews! I was debating between a camry and altima. Already have a camry and wanted to try something with more kick to it.
I like this Altima over the newer one. I like the fact it has the 5 speed auto and not that soul draining CVT. A smooth 6 speed auto shifts seamless enough and can provide good fuel economy so why a CVT in a sporty sedan?
As long as they are in good condition like this one it will be put on the used car lot!
Have an 04 with the 3.5 and a manual 5 spd. There fun!! And definitely quick
these cars are almost perfect no cvt transmission i currently have one with 324k miles on it and it is the perfect daily driver

mine runs fine! 170,600 miles!
+King Aza mine does too. 2005 158k
William Escalante 06
+King Aza mines an 05. but still. no prob.
it all depends on how you maintain your vehicle & how you abuse your engine.
This is my favorite model
my parents bought me this car today and the only thing is it has no aux plug
Glad I could request this ;)
this guy doesn't even understand where the punchy engine stands out. this car is QUICK. use the semi manual mode and launch it. 0-60 is QUICK. I have one and I joke it's a jet taking off
What about an actual manual transmission
I totally agree the semi auto is very fast I have a 2006 very fast
@@mannyaraujo1 I actually own one now.. They're dope.. need a ser front and back bumper
can you do a 1999 nissan maxima se
If this suspension feels a bit soft it might need new shocks/struts plus bushings might be worn out especially with 101k.
The way the door panels look, front to back, looks the like 07-12 Lexus ES350.
Besides people complaining about how CVT's drive, the bigger question is about durability?
I have this car but I’m still unsure of the extra 2 slide on the gear shifter. What are they used for?
Just looked at one that can be used as a manual or automatic trAnsmission.
Can you plz do 2004 Nissan Maxima?
wish the altima 2.5 had the 5AT. it could totally handle it! too bad they changed to cvt
Nice video!
do you have any idea when the 2013 Fusion will start arriving to dealers?
Damn looks clean 😍👍
i just got this car (06 6.5 se with 117k miles) and i hope it will last awhile
I Have A 2006 S-2.5 Nissan Altima. One Owner, With Only 60,000 Miles On It. Think I Should Keep It?
no! They are junk!
I own a 05 2.5SL and and very disappointed with the lack of headroom. I am 5 feet 10 inches tall and feel like I don't have enough headroom in this car. Mine is also equipped with a sunroof which may be part of the problem.
damn you I want ice cream now
The 2002 - 2004's aren't that bad. I have a 2003 Altima 3.5 SE and love it. Very fun to drive and in the 11 years I have had it, no major problems besides major oil consumption. The Altima, especially in SE and SR trims, are sporty and are marketed that way. Toyota Camry SE V6 isn't sporty.
Any chance you could video the 2008 Audi a4 at your dealer?
No way to connect my phone for audio? And now I'm not getting this car... What a shame.
Plenty of aftermarket ways to get what you want. Just look around. Not getting the car of your dreams just because you can't connect your phone is a poor excuse, IMO, especially since it's...you know...2014...
I see a lot of these in poor shape
Yes! My 2003 model is in better shape than most of the newer models. What a shame to let such a good car go to waste!
I actually think this car looks better than the 7th generation Accord, but the Accord is the all around better car.
Continuously Variable Transmission. They're good for fuel economy. Nearly all Nissans & Hybrids today use that transmission. My 2007 Altima has one.
What do you mean? I guess you're questioning the durability and reliability of Altimas? Well from personal experience, I have no complains what so ever.
I used to have one of these! Although mine was the more luxury-oriented 3.5SL. Quick car, definitely, but it was just too big for me. The turning circle was bloody awful and I averaged 21 MPG on a good day :P
its supposed to get 29 on the highway
I always red stories about complaints about the durability of CVT's like failing around 100,000 miles or even 50,000 miles.
Ianna Natasha this isn’t the cvt...he even said it was the 5 speed automatic tranny
Sigh. It seems like you cannot watch a Nissan video anymore without at least 5 comments about the damn CVT. I just wonder if anyone of the people criticizing have at least driven one to be able to judge? Anyway, these are pretty nice cars and were the second best in class imo after the Accord. Cvt suck
GOOD CAR.
Should have waited for the ice cream truck to pass.lol
Dope! Thanks
This one is quite dated , but no one seams to like the Camry for a long time , I think the people that buy them are people who care only about reliability and space.
My friend had one new and hated it.
Thank´s
These only looked good to me back then when it was black, had a spoiler and a sunroof visor on them.
Any idea on the location of the obd2 port for it?
what state do you live in? Just wondering!
Maryland, from the sound of it.
I really don't like the interior or exterior styling, cvt or blandness in the styling. But the engine is in 3rd place behind the Camry and Accord V6 IMO.
Witch is better over all Nissan or Honda?
Mini van :)
NISSAN is way better

Like the 2013 and the updated 2012
Nope, they were automatics :(
I owned an '02 SE (with leather seats), you must become ONE with the slosh and see gear shifting. First gear goes 0 to 65 KPH if you redline it, you don't even need to shift to beat 90% of other cars in streets races
why does so much water blow out of the exhaust?
That means the engine is in good shape and is working good!
I was going to say he lives in Oregon;)
Condensation.
Well those stories are lies. Go for a drive and count how many Altimas you see? My mom has a 07 reaching 100K miles and it still drives like new.
does this have a cvt transmission?
The se does come in leather, your wrong I have one
at time index 3:32 there is a button positioned inside of the glovebox chamber to the left. Does anyone know what that button is? I;ve paused it, but still cannot determine its function!
TheillogicalParadox trunk release lock or cancle. Could you turn it off and lock the glove box for valet parking. Yes.
What kind of rims are these please tell me !

Hpw much is the sedan
These go for Like 3k .. they age really well. I own one myself
Too much. They are cheap rolling buckets of garbage!
I really don't like these altimas. Headlights always get yellow, the taillights sometimes gets yellow, and overall it just looks boring and weird. I might say the 2013 Altima is nice but it's still kind of boring and it's a CVT.
Cvt in the upper models*
Not for 2002-2006
I which that ice cream truck would go away.
Looks like a sentra dash

This Renault will be a money pit. DO NOT BUY!!
Idk i had a 03 camry a problem everyother day. Had an 05 maxima for almost 2 years still running strong it comes down to if you get a good solid vehicle or a lemon
Always oxidized headlights
wtf ice cream trucks still exist?
Don't buy one unless you get 07+ they are so much nicer
I drive a 07 2.5 S I've owned for 3 years so far & it's an amazingly fun car! Has a great balance of everything! Planning to keep it for at least 3 more years.
