    I started Keto with real food in 2018 and immediately lost 60 lbs, my back pain went away, gained mental clarity-many benefits. And of course companies adopted the keto craze offering everything I used to eat and I fell into the trap thinking I can eat this and that. My relationship with food returned to the old ways and I began snacking again. I noticed these processed products messed with my leptin and ghrelin signals causing me to not be satisfied and I gained 25 lbs back on “keto” products. The moment I went back to natural foods, I lost my weight again. Keto done right with real food is far better and much more satiating making intermittent fasting so much easier. Amen to this video. Thank you for sharing 👍

    Great message, food was made to be a big part of our daily entertainment. And the basis of our social contacts. People feel robbed if they cannot partake to the fullest anymore. Add our carb addiction to that and we can see the magnitude of the problem we are facing. And big corporate + big government aren't helping in the slightest, the contrary is the case.

      When people make money, they stop seeing the impact on others. Unfortunately, we are struggling uphill trying to help people understand that what they've been told is healthy is actually causing their health problems. But, it is the truth, so we need to keep talking about it.

    I didn't had that kind of pain, but exactly this happened to me. I thought I was eating healthy, but my fatigue and discomfort ended only when I gave up all vegetables. And I didn't do replacement keto foods. Just meat and vegetables.

    • @TheRoadtoHealth
      @TheRoadtoHealth  4 месяца назад +6

      When we listen to our body, we find the solution. It can be hard, though, because we are constantly told vegetables are healthy. But, cutting the vegetables, we quickly get feedback from our body that it is improving. Thank for sharing and confirming that this works.

      I still get family members asking if I'm "still doing it?" without realizing that I've transitioned to carnivore. Then of course I get the "I could never do that" or "You need vegetables" comments. They won't get it until they either have their won realization that veg is causing their problems or they just never get it. Either way, my goal in life is to help those who are willing to help themselves. You need to be willing to look at the data and make an informed decision.

    I can relate to the substitute keto foods. I’ve loved baking most of my life and I switched to using almond flour and erythritol. That eventually left me unsatisfied and I started eating more chocolate. I never ate the ultra processed stuff. And I don’t have weight issues or severe health issues. But I recently changed to carnivore and will see what changes occur.

      Those are significant health goals. I really encourage you to focus on how your joints feel when you eat on plan. When you do, you'll be able to notice that when you eat on plan you feel better but then, eating off plan feel painful. That information will help you to make better decisions.

    Excellent advice, thanks Violet!
    When i first started exploring Keto a few years ago, i encountered many of the keto treats recipe providers. Didn't take long to realize that it was the wrong path to be pursuing.
    Like you said, however, if they are clear about the treats being a bridge to ultimately eliminating treats, I'd probably at least listen!

      I think a part of the issue is that many commercial keto bars and cookies are now available so there are affiliate links for many to push. The other issues are the influencers who have baking books, which again encourage eating the wrong foods. The road to health is so curved that many of us end up doing a circle.

    im conflicted because the islands which have no processed foods but eat 35-45 grams of fiber a day did great. with no heart attacks, hardening of arteries, no diabetes etc...The difference when they studied them was that they first had nothing processed beyond cooking it, and their bacteria in their body had adapted to where they could digest parts even of the 'indigestible' fiber. they also had no parakites because the coconut fiber would push it out like a broom. Also they noticed that whereas their #2 stank terribly, the natives with all veggies , small meat, and coconut fats had non-smelling #2. Their bodies were doing what was good with what it could, and getting rid of the rest.
    Very interesting to me it seem that you need to have your bacteria inside of you adapted to what you're eating. Doctor Bruce fife, the coconut researcher says that if your bacteria are adapted to carbs and sugar, even the saliva in your MOUTH is acidic and degrading to your teeth! So if its like that on your mouth, imagine what it does to your insides. Also I think you have a point with the sweetness, it even messed with our bacteria inside of us because they cannot digest most of these sugar alcohols.. just the thoughts off the top of my head...

    • @TheRoadtoHealth
      @TheRoadtoHealth  4 месяца назад +2

      What research found that? My family is from the islands and I was raised knowing that our family history was diabetes and weight issues. I think that we keep confusing our body's ability to manage for a very long time despite being poisoned to mean we are healthy. In the background, the damage is being done.
      The Caribbean is not a blue zone. If these foods were truly healthy, it would be a blue zone. Now, we need to add to it, increase in ultra processed carbage has led to even faster expression of the illnesses.

    Yeah i found it helpfull to avoid too tasty processed keto stuff and although i still have some at home, its more for traveling or other emergencies. Like when i was at hospital it took about day and half before i was able to get low carb food from the hospital. Keto bars i had with me helped me to excercise willpower not to eat heavily carb based meals they served me against my wishes.

      I wish we would have known sooner that Pat could have had low carb meals. The first few days he just picked over the meats and tried to avoid the rest. Once he saw the nutritionist, he was able to get double portions of meat and less carbage. But, they kept bringing some of the stupidity. I think he got a few desserts. Not very with it.
