Me: "I already understand this, but I'm gonna watch anyway."
Also me: *learns 5 new things*
This was the most practical application of this information I've run across, and it was delivered in a very understandable way!

From all the videos of protein - moisture i have seen, yours is by far the most clear and well explained of all. I just kept looking videos because them girls just focused on being funny or talking innecesary things and at the end of the video everything was way more confusing than the beginning.
AND YOURS was the most straight to the point and usefull video i've seen on this matter, FINALLY i understand what my hair needs and what i can do if i get overload of one or the other. THANK YOU!! Keep doing like this PLEASE, this are the kind of videos that we need ANDDDDD ALSO I GOT TO LEARN HOW TO READ THE INGREDIENTS!! I am so happy i just started to search for the ingredients of the products i already bought and now i realized that almost all of them are moisturizing!! Can you recomend me some that have protein? and why are some hairs not liking glyceryn (and how i know if i am one of them)?? Thank you! Yo earned a youtube and instagram follower;)

This video was helpful! Thank you for the screen shots at the end. I took a pic. I also sorted all my products today into clarify, moisture, protein and now understand that my hair needs protein and explains why my curl patter is not as defined and why my hair still feels damp after diffusing and drying all day.

I am still teething on my CG journey. Have been heat tool free for about 2 years (other than the lowest heat setting on diffuser), and until I watched this video I couldn't for the life of me understand protein/moisture balance. I didn't even know that a protein treatment and a deep condition were two different things! OMG you've changed my life. Thank you so much for articulating such complex info in a simple, understandable way. You're the best xoxox

So far the best info I’ve ever found!! Instead of just using a products that are often more protein or moisture. Can we maybe incorporate both? Like use a leave-in or curl cream with moisture and then maybe like a protein gel ? Also how can we incorporate protein and moisture balance into our actual wash... like shampoo and conditioner. And should we ? Like does it really matter ? And ik most likely it depends on my hair but if you could tell me what works with yours because my hair type is exactly like yours! 😭

Just found this video after watching your rant video. Thank you for this! My13 yr zold has wavy hair and has been trying cgm with mixed results. Sometimes she is really frizzy and other times her hair never seems to dry. I watched another youtuber that gave advice but she wanted viewers to pay for her advice on protein. Doll! This video just saved my life! I ‘thought’ my hair loved protein so I choose non protein products for washing and regular conditioning, using Cantu curl activator (thinking it was heavy in protein) and not protein gel! No wonder it was falling flat on day 2! Weekly deep conditioning with protein.
Please do more ingredient checks and possible combos! This video literally changed everything. Will hit year two of curly curl this month. And I learned so much.

Now I’ll have the key ingredients on my phone for the next time I’m shopping for hair products. I’m also sooo happy to have finally discovered the major fault in my routine: too much moisture and almost NO protein!! It only took me 30+ years to figure it out lol. I’m hopeful that some of the new tricks/tips I’ve been learning can help to counter the effects of menopausal hormone changes and restore my curls to their former healthy beauty.

I don't even have curly hair, but I'm just realising now that simply finding a shampoo/conditioner that works (maybe for the first few times) is never going to be enough to have healthy looking hair 😅
Can you make a video about hair health in general? My hair is super weird... super fine and extremely low density 😭 oily, but it can also look frizzy and have a flakey scalp. Ew! The best thing so far have been shampoos for seborrhoeic dermatitis.
I just ordered some products because of you but I'm still rubbish at reading ingredient lists 😵 So much to learn, so little time!

This was amazingly helpful! I've been wanting to try a repairing protein mask and I do have some of the symptoms of the over-moisturized hair list! I do have stylers with protein in them, but I don't think they're enough when compared to all the moisture I've been putting into my hair lately. I've been using NYMs naturals Blue Sea Kelp bottle, and then garneir smoothing 1min mask and leaving some in before I even style. My hair feels limp and is extremely soft, and doesnt hold its waves very well. Thanks for this video, it has really helped me to get an idea of what is going on!
