I had a slight cold and had a jam with a loud band and now I have a deep hoarse voice. No middle ( just air ) and a strong powerful high head voice. What the heck . Hope this gets better..i have a gig in 10 days

i can talk now but it's been about 10 days of going between hoarse to no voice back to hoarse again, I wish my voice would come back. :(

OMG. Thanks for this wonderful video. You saved my job....I teach Pilates on zoom and my voice gone 3 days ago and only got worst. I thought that my career is over. I followed your video and had 80% improvement in an hour. Managed to teach my class. Now resting and keeping following your advice. I feel so much better and I know its not something nasty. What about those of us who HAVE to talk? I work in a group of 3 small town radio stations. I'm not one of the "high men on the totem pole", so I can't take time off to rest my voice (taking time off entails asking those higher up in seniority to take my shift... which they wouldn't likely do even if I was on my death bed or something). I do on air announcing for one of the shifts (on a country music station), and I fill in for other announcers when they're gone. I don't have a Hell of a lot of downtime to "rest", I literally have all of two days off out of the whole month, so it's not like I get a true "weekend" to rest up and heal. What can I do?

Yep good old antibiotics will do the trick. Its okay because i always use to get it but this is my first time getting laryngitis

I could just tell that no sound was going to come out at all, so I rested until I felt like I had a prayer of phonating. Thanks for watching!

Did you have any cough with laryngitis?
I was going to ask the same thing. Unfortunately, mine resulted from post nasal drip (from a cold), resulting in a lot of 'gunk' on the vocal folds and a cough that became increasingly 'aggressive.' I had to miss a performance yesterday - this is the first time that I've been sick in years! I wish I had seen this earlier, though. It would have been worth a try.
I don't think I had laryngitis, but I had the nas drip after a cold and it was like a dry cough. Kept me awake until 4 am or nights until I was too tired to stay awake. Had some mucus, but it wasn't coming up so it was mostly like dry coughs that felt worse at night. The cold air didn't help and I tried different stuff. Got some mucinex, but it didn't help much. Garlic, ginger, and honey helped for a few minutes. I boiled them and drank it and ate some raw. The last cough I remember was after mucus was like in bottom of my throat above chest until I coughed it all out. Like thick snot stuck inside. I tried snorting water and saltwater to keep airways not as dry and other stuff. Just have to wait for it to stop

this person hey is your through saw and feels like you need to vomit but you don’t vomit? And your tonsils are big? I think you may have tonsillitis see a doctor cause when I saw a doctor they said I have tonsillitis and I have to go to the hospital straight away. So do be sure to see a doctor 👩⚕️.
@@singwisevocals i've been hoarse since about 11-12-18 and it's slowly maybe getting better, idk what to do. This did not work for me at all either. :/

I know this video was posted years ago, but I just ran across it.
I tried this for my issue of on and off losing my voice. It definitely worked but manipulating the lymph duct feels really tender on both sides. Is that common or something to worry about?

@@Adriana-el9of sorry to hear that! Yes I did but I had to get some sort off medicine to minimize the swelling of my vocal cords on top of of the antibiotics
