    ⁷ my friend before you mess with the hood those hinges is the biggest problem you have to adjust the hood hinges the trick to before you put any aftermarket conduction Hood take the hinges off the hood turn off the fenders Mount the new hood very carefully to see where everything's going to rub a lot of times this aftermarket hoods they're stamped wrong next time you take all the hinges out and put it carefully as a mock and then you take the hood hinges and you might have send them on one side or the other good luck my friend❤😊

      Thank for the info. I ended up getting it all dialed it. It’s the hood and the hinges. Old aftermarket they don’t make anymore. Also, a have a few buddies of mine had to send back their hood hinges to Ring Brothers due to them not being manufactured correctly. So they fixed it at no cost.

    Looks good I have the same hood hinges on my 72 chevelle but I can’t get the hood to come down on the back side how did you do it to drop the back of the hood down?

      Thank you! You have to adjust the bottom part of the hinge (on fender). Keep moving the front up and the back down lil’ by lil’. Keep in mind it might throw off your alignment a lil’ as well just be patient. I also had to shim my fender too.

    I had the same problem on my hood when I installed these hinges on my elco. The hood sits up high in the back close to the windshield.

      Man! Such a battle, they can be adjusted tho to fit. It took me a while to figure it out.

    Looks really good. Did you have any issues with the flapper valve hitting the firewall? Finally got mines lined up but it won’t go down in the rear because of the flapper valve.

      Thank you! Yes! The pod vacuum port hit it at first. I had to bend it to clear. Also had to remove the center “leaf catcher” on the cowl. The pod was hitting it when good was closed.

      I went with Sandman Designs, but a place in Oregon called Axislowrider makes nice pieces as well, if you like billet.

    Ok this is a beautiful detailed car ,but you have a functional cowl hood and it is not going to suck in cold air by your cutting away the dome !!! What were you thinking? Metal from stamping most always needs tweeking ! IMHO that hood had way to many defects and they should have replaced it.

    • @MrGriffin23
      @MrGriffin23  3 месяца назад

      Doesn’t matter at this point. I have forced induction now from a Procharger Supercharger. No need for the cold air from the dome. The functional flapper is just fine.

      I see 🤣. I was saying if you decide to purchase another hood later on I would try either Dynacorn, AMD or National Parts Depot.
