- Highlights of the 1979 Major League Baseball All-Star Game in the Seattle Kingdome. Includes commentary by Chris Berman, narration by Mel Allen, and an interview with MVP Dave Parker. This was shown on ESPN on the evening of July 13, 1987 - the night before that year's All-Star Game in Oakland. This was recorded onto VHS when I was eight years old.
This WAS the BEST MLB All Star GAME . Great hitting. Great Pitching. Great defense. AND Hall of fame Superstars!
What a night!!! Parker had a CANNON!

One of my favorite players!
1971 was pretty good as well.
So many legendary names in that game... I was only a kid but I remember watching this game.
Mazilli's bat flip after drawing the walk was the epitome of cool.
Agreed. If 'bat flippers' could do it like that today, I'd hate em a lot less.
Parker was a bad ass! That throw to Carter was epic! I’ll never forget it!
Dave Parker belongs in HOF
yes i recall watching this game..that Mazzilli homer and walk were big killers for the American AS...
What is the name of the opening theme song? I have heard this tune in many highlight films. e.g NFL Films. This tune was the opening theme for the 71 World Series film, too.
pop march by Johnny Pearson
